Well, we've got every other genre of music, so why not?

Personally, I've got bluegrass music in my blood. I hate other incarnations of country music, but I love bluegrass. Earl and Scruggs, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and Tennessee Ernie Ford are some of my favorites. My family is from the back hills of Tennessee, so I have a lot of bluegrass playing in my family. Banjo, harmonica, etc. It's great. Nothing beats hot banjo runs. Anyone else like Bluegrass?

I can't believe that nobody here likes bluegrass. Surely there must be at least a few brave people who will fess up to it.

I like bluegrass. Haven't heard a whole lot but the stuff I have heard is more complicated than most of the crap playing now.

I love "Old Rocky Top!" I've only heard it once, but I'm officially a fan.

Is Blugrass that music that they play in Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? I liked some of that if it is. If not, then I dunno what Bluegrass is and I'll go away quietly.

    Rocky Top rules!
Unofficial fight song for the Vols.

Anyway, I like bluegrass and traditional country music. Most of the stuff Nashville is turning out these days isn't country or bluegrass, but pop music.

Alison Kraus is great. So is Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Scruggs, etc.

Ska, where in Tennessee is your family from?

    Chattanooga area here.

Uruk: Ole Brother was bluegrass and old-time country. Best movie soundtrack, IMO.

The Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack turned me on to bluegrass. I'm slowly getting into it. I bought Alison Krauss & Union Station - New Favorite. I want to get Dan Tyminski's album too.
