X-wing pilot wip (almost done)

I've no need for this one, just wanted to make it, that's all. I used my Kyle Katarn head. I want to give redit to Mister X, because I used I used a modified version of the chest box from his pilot. Just need a few more stuffs on his belt. I'm replace the lightsaber with a blaster (Han solo's type). more details needed on boot and glove, and some more tweeking, but most of it is ok.

 

Looks nice, can't hardly tell you used the Katarn head. Cool, i'm sure it would look great in a movie.

 

You're being ironic right? It's clearly Kyle Katarn's head. His face is poking out of the helmet b/c his head is so big.

 

Yes, it does look like Kyle Katarns head. But as a style for these models that he has been doing you can't really tell that since most of the faces are basically shaped the same, the diference besides the obviouse shapes are really good, and you could do some really great stuff with it.

here are two new pilots I'm working on: Mon calamari, and rodian.

I used EricM akbar head. I re-textured it as you can see, and I deformed it a bit. I haven't used his hands because he modeled humanoid hands, while mon calamari have long palmed hands.So I've done those big forarms and hands, from memories.
The flight suit is wip. I'm looking for a diferent one form the orange, like those seen in return of the jedi, green red or gray. Yeah know : google, but I've already tried, so if you have some pics of this exibition where almost all costumes were shown, I'm here. I'm also looking for the bwing pilot helmet, the big one with purple visor. I could watch the film... if I had it.

The rodian is just a new texture wip, but I'll model arms also and make another pilot with it

Nice textures Dr Jones... The MonCal looks like a bit like a smurf (un schtroumpf quoi) but other than that, this is quite interesting.

The Rodian looks weird too but the detail you put into the map is awsome. Seems like you have way too much free time, lol !

And what's with all those MonCal guys poping up everywhere all of a sudden ? Is that because you had too much poisonous salmon lately ?

Yet.. another good example of what gets lost in this forum b/c of all the garbage threads. Dr.Jones had a re-texturing of the X-wing that he was making too.

 

I've skinned those two meshes last week to add them to my demo reel. So, now they can be posed.

Skinning isn't perfect, for exemple you can't pose fingers separatly, it was just to give them a basic pose

 

that would have been so awesome to have the mon calamari in non-toon form! Good work though!
