For the first time in about 20 years. I've kinda lost the fire for Tennis...with Agassi in Retirement. Maybe I'll watch some..but kinda find it hard to get excited about it anymore.

So you like the star factor, and celebrity, rather than the sport?

not necessarily..I've watched the game since the last days of McEnroe,Borg, and Connors. I continued to watch..up til this year. I just don't think the caliber of play is as good as it used to be. Agassi was the last of the dinosaurs. A groundstroker. Now it's serve as hard as you can.(SEE: Andy Roddick) and have no fundamental's. Federer is great though..and that's the thing. He's alone in his talent...only if Nadal is at the top of his game..with no mistakes..can he really beat him.

Yeah, sorry, in retrospect that might've sounded a little accusatory. Federer is certainly the sole representative of the complete game these days.

Andy Roddick also has a great forehand and is good in the other areas. The only thing im concerned with in tennis is the disappearence of parity and upsets.

your right..I guess that came across that Roddick has no game. He does have some skills..no doubts there, I think he has just lost his way a bit....and does rely on his serve to much. Maybe Jimbo can coach him out of that.

I ususally have the least interest in the Australian beacuse im not really int the tennis mindset. Once I start playing for my school, I will be more in to it. But for the French Open and Wimbledon I will check every score because im in the tennis mood, summer time so I wake up and watch Wimbledon or the French Open.

Living in Melbourne, I find this an unescapable event. I HATE tennis, I dislike the extra people on my tram in the morning and I really don't care about the people who play it, as it seems to attract the most petulant of sportspeople (from what the media tells me in any case)

Man, I'm full of the cranky today!

It was an exhibiton match... don't count, sorry A-Rod fans.:p

Federer will probably win, but Nadal, Blake, & Roddick should come pretty close.
I just hope Lleyton can have a decent tournament, given his coach troubles.

On the Women's side, Justine ain't gonna be there, so I don't really care who wins.
But go the Aussie girls, Alicia Molik & Samantha Stosur!!!

On a tangent... Tennis on the Nintendo Wii sucks little yellow balls.

as SI.com amply explained recently, Sampras could beat Federer even now. It's a shame we never got to see the two go against each other while at their peaks.

    Ljubicic goes down to Fish

Joachim Johansson has to retire at 1-1 in first set. A sad story for a guy that was number 10 and the new star. He is no longer in the top 50 and is always battling injuries.

    Hmmm, let's see here...

I pick Federer here without a doubt. I've almost despised the guy for being so damn good nowadays...

Go Hingis! Every time she wins, she proves that she's actually a great player, and gets out that neverwas Kournikova's shadow.
