    We are SO busted. :p

So mercsailor, would you be up for "Fanboys 2: Attack of the Clones"?

Here for your viewing convenience. These poor Star Wars related films (Fanboys, '77) - long delays in their production seem to be the norm.

Saw Night At The Museum-2, without having seen the first one.

    It stands alone ok,

and have since seen the first one on TV, and like the second one better.

    UP

    Pixar has done it again!

I saw this in 3D and it was pretty gosh darn good.

Very sentimental however, with the kind of sound track I love.

Several nods to Star Wars occur in the film, including the Original Film as it opened in 1977,
but that is in the end credit along with several fun inside jokes in general.

If you see it see how many you can get.

The short in front of this film is also a perfect match!

To say anything more, would be to spoil it.

except this is not a wham bang go like heck film.
So, if you are looking for a carnavil ride, this is not that film.

I give a strong second to MT's review of "Up". Very well done, another home run by Pixar.

So.. I saw 17 Again on Monday ($.50 at the Dollar movie)

Now.. it was a TERRIBLE movie.. but the fact that it was FULL of Star Wars References made it at least salvagable.

The landspeeder bed for instance? was completely amazing.

    but.. yeah.

Note: I do not recomend this movie. just informing about the great references.

R.I.P. John Hughes - 1980s teen movies, personified.

    From Wikipedia:

"John Hughes, Jr. (February 18, 1950 ? August 6, 2009) was an American film director, producer and writer. He made some of the most successful comedy films of the 1980s and 1990s, including National Lampoon's Vacation; Ferris Bueller's Day Off; Weird Science; The Breakfast Club; Some Kind of Wonderful; Sixteen Candles; Pretty in Pink; Planes, Trains and Automobiles; Uncle Buck; Home Alone and its sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York."

And of course, there's this classic...

    Dear Mr. Vernon,

We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong, but we think you're crazy for making us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us, in the simplest terms, with the most convenient definitions. But what we found out, is that each one of us is a brain, and an athlete, and a basketcase, a princess, and a criminal.

    Does that answer your question?

    Sincerely yours,

    The Breakfast Club

    Julie & Julia (2009)

Well, I am kinda a foodie, and have watched my fair share of cooking shows,
    including,

    The French Chef

    The Galliping Gourmet

    Chan can cook

    Good Eats

    etc.

and well.............this is a pretty good movie,
in fact, I liked it better than the reality of this story line.

Meryl Streep as Julia Child.......is fantastic,
it is kinda part homage and part parody........which works for me.

The Julie part of the story works as a counter point for the Julia Child story,
and as a story telling technique, it works quite well.

and so the film jumps back and forth between the two stories and seems to do so
    without seeming to dis-jointed.

So, if you are a fan of all of the above, you may find this a fun to view item.

I saw this openning weekend and loved it! And yes.. Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci were amazing. But then, they normally are.

Also, as a side note, I actually used to work with Graham Kerr's granddaughter.

Here's the list of summer movies I have seen:

Fast and Furious - Loved it. I'm a sucker for racing movies.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine - It was OK. Good action, story was meh.
    Star Trek - Excellent!
Angels and Demons - Good thriller
Terminator Salvation - Good action, bad story and acting
    NatM2: BotS - A good comedy
Taking of Pelham 123: Predictable and disappointing ending.
    Transformers 2 - Liked it
Harry Potter - very weak ending.
GI Joe - I was surprised how much I enjoyed this movie, even though everyone else hated it.

This gives me much to think about, as I haven't seen ANY of these, assuming most would not be worth it. Perhaps an update to the Netflix queue is needed, at least.

I'm not sure any of these would be on Netflix yet. Perhaps F&F or Wolverine.

Not sure if you use an Xbox 360 to watch your Netflix on TV, but they released an update that lets you update your instant queue right on the Xbox without needing to use the computer.

Season 3 of The Guild starts in one week.

Just sayin.. and if you haven't seen their new music video? you should. It's totally on YouTube. It's highly ridiculous. Which, in my books, is a ok.

The new Guild music video looks like a certain Katy Perry video.

Bonus points: can you spot the Dr. Horrible cast member (besides Felecia Day) who is in the vid?

Well.. there is a certain Whedon in the video, though she is a Whedon by marriage. And I suppose you could say that she was in Dr. Horrible.
