Yes. It would be easy. William could teleport folks in. Carry clerics in bag maybe? (They ARE noisy) :p Others go take care of 'business', while William releases clerics to grab scrolls. I dont know what others want to do, or even if they want to go.

But if they need a distraction, Ariel can be invisible, up above. She had a slew of those tanglefoot pouches she never did use. TONS of em. Im sure she could keep them pretty distracted for awhile, while the others get away. Any thoughts guys?

Like I said, I'm happy with whichever plan we go with so long as it leaves us with a dead warlord. :p

Then I say assassination it is under the guise of stealing/destroying scrolls.

Yeah, it's very much like Mazarun to 'conveniently forget' to mention to those who might object "Hey guys, we're actually going to slit a guy's throat while he sleeps.":p

Interesting tie-in to that fey blood; he doesn't like to lie outright, but he'll abuse the hell out of deceptive truths and just plain neglecting to cut people in on a plan.:D

(Sorry for absence, had some RL busy stuff distracting me, and was unsure what was even going on here.)

Friendly neighbourhood moderator message - Ramza and I would like to remind all OOC thread users that OOC threads are not the place to socialize.

Well...question would be..do they want to PLAY out the action... or just let Saint do a write up on it?? For me, it dosent really matter....unless Ariel were to meet a certain flying wyrm... then I would WANT to play that part out... Otherwise... It dosent matter.

Does the folks who actually would be DOING the attacks have anything they wanna add..before Saint gets... CREATIVE?!?!?!? ;)

I'd rather it just gets written up, I'm keen to get to the big fight. If things go poorly, Crom will grant us revenge. And if he does not listen? THEN TO HELL WITH HIM.

Sorry about all the delays, guys - I'm getting back on pace, and should have something up a little later in the week. As to the speedups: I'm still working out precisely how these will work, but I will have at least two interludes for you to react to or deal with as you see fit, and then we're into the barrel for the defence of Brindol itself.

Okay, second major interlude is up. No particular replies required. Longtime readers may see some familiar faces here. There'll be one more significant one, and then the battle will begin. Enjoy...

NOTE: MAL DIED ON THE WAY BACK TO HIS HOME PLANET.

But seriously, nice to see some old faces. Wasn't expecting Alessandro to show up again, so that was neat.

Now I just have to hope the "RESPOND OR ELSE" stuff hits well before or sometime after next weekend. [face_nail_biting]

    RESPOND OR ELSE, NAOW.

...kidding, it'll take me a little longer to get that stuff ready to go. I still have another interlude to write. :D

How the hell do you lose a beguiler? Aside from them disappearing on their own one day, you pretty much have to drop them in one turn otherwise they can cloak and stealth out.

And what's the last of the "interludes" is up. Hopefully you'll like it :D

The battle should be on its way I'd say early next week. I might suggest you pick your spells now - and take a really good look at all your characters' options from their CSes, because the battle is likely -- not to mention I fully intend to -- stretch you guys to the limit. Have a nice day [face_devil]

EDIT: I can probably tell you that the battle will most likely happen at night, mainly because hobgoblins can see in the dark and most humans can't. The Council is fully aware of this, at least, and has been planning and training with a night battle in mind. You might do the same in considering character options, and remember, so long as Skadi's got Winterfall out you have a source of illumination centred on her.

Light, if it's okay could you pick Skadi's spells for her? I'm really hoping Xan is around, too, because she's got quiet recently...

    Night fighting....

Well... that should be spiffy! :p

Can we still add in our own little interludes before your big war post goes up?

*Starts hinting about some invisibility potions.. lol ;) :p *

Okay, that's my flashback post made; I tried to keep vague on what other people did, within the guidelines we already worked out, to leave room for anyone else if they felt like making any kind of flashback post to that night.

Also vaguely relevant at this point, a poem that was serving as some inspiration I felt like sharing:

'The Hosting of the Sidhe', W.B Yeats

The host is riding from Knocknarea
    And over the grave of Clooth-na-bare;
    Caoilte tossing his burning hair
And Niamh calling Away, come away:
Empty your heart of its mortal dream.
The winds awaken, the leaves whirl round,
Our cheeks are pale, our hair is unbound,
Our breasts are heaving, our eyes are a-gleam,
    Our arms are waving, our lips are apart;
And if any gaze on our rushing band,
We come between him and the deed of his hand,
We come between him and the hope of his heart.
The host is rushing 'twixt night and day,
And where is there hope or deed as fair?
    Caoilte tossing his burning hair,
And Niamh calling Away, come away.

Bold mine, for emphasis. Because fey things aren't always all sunshine and flowers...
