I was surprised to find this show fairly decent. Much better than that mediocrity that was 10th Kingdom, or the pointlessly vulgar soap-opera of Game of Thrones. I just hope they continue to work toward a goal, and actually have a plan for finally breaking the curse.
So far only made it to the death of the first person to break through (don't want to spoil it for anyone that hasn't watched it).

So yay. Finally there is a current sci-fi/fantasy show that I like.

Game of Thrones is far from pointless.

I said pointlessly vulgar. Sometimes less is more. I'm sure GoT has something that others see in it.
After 4 episodes, I had lost all interest.

This show however, has me intrigued enough to get through 11 episodes in 2 nights and keeping me up until 2am.

Well this was a kinda boring episode.

As much as I do like Regina backstory, it was just started dragging.

    Moments I did enjoy though:

    - There was a Jabberwocky statue in Regina's palace room. I kinda let out a squee at that.

    - "I don't care if it turns me green." THIS LINE. It makes me really curious if it was a joke or a serious reference to the Wizard of Oz.

    - Jefferson's stuffed bunny and tea set.

    - The "off to work we go" reference. Awesome.

Part of me really wants Regina to be sincere about wanting redemption, but I'm still wary.

I'm intrigued that Gold didn't know about the boundary's side effects, and I do feel a bit bad for him. But not too much considering he made Regina.

Where the heck did August go??

    And uggh Cora's back.

But next week looks like less Storybrooke and more EF!

Yes. Either go hog-wild, and show us every disgusting and/or humiliating detail, so that it borders on if isn't outright porn, or show some sophistication and subtlety, and maybe some basic acting. Take the wedding night, where the supremely innocent girl is sacrificed to the barbarian chief. Imagine if, instead of hearing the squelching noises and the slapping of thighs, it instead focused on the expression of pain and horror on her face as she tried to blot out what was happening, with a good music cue. As it is, they might as well be dogs rutting in a park.

We get it; you don't like GoT. Please take further discussion about it to the Game of Thrones threads, as this thread is about Once Upon a Time.

I liked this episode and that they're developing Regina more. But I kind of hate charming. He's just such a jerk.

This episode needed a little more Snow and Emma with Mulan and Co. I understand they wanted to do the whole surprise character reveal, but I kept wondering what's going on with Snow and Emma rather than focusing on what was happening at hand in Storybrooke.

Don't get me wrong: the reveal about

the fact that if you cross the line, the curse is renewed/you forget your story self

is actually a really interesting, really cool twist.

It really felt like a "let's sweep the board of hanging threads and set the pieces for the next act" kind of episode.

I'm glad the kid became a lot less obnoxious. One early episode (#3?) had him really annoying. Fortunately the adults have taken center stage.

I noticed in one episode the background music seemed like a variation on the lament from Babylon5's Call to Arms. (more piano, less bagpipe, and higher register notes at the end of the bar).
I'm made it to Red Riding Hood & the Wolf, or the discovery of the heart in the box.
And at least one of the writers from Buffy is on staff--no wonder the show is improving.

This entire episode I was distracted by past-Snow's outfit. It was fantastic until I saw the pants and then it distracted me for being so ugly the entire episode.

    Hi Lancelot!

    .... okay bye Lancelot.

I really felt "meh" about this episode. It's nice seeing Mary Margaret/Snow being back to her kick-butt self, but I'm getting a bit annoyed by her crazy protectiveness.

Awwww! Jefferson and his daughter was adorable.

What were Regina's snakes for again?

OOOOH. I'm hoping the show turns into Cora getting to Storybrooke then we have the ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN between Regina/Cora. That would be awesome.

They certainly got to Snow's castle really quickly and with only one ogre attack. That's not as dangerous as they were making it out to be.

And HAHA Snow taking Aurora down was hilarious.

And Hook is sexy. Was not expecting that.

The snakes were used by Regina to kill Snow's father.

    Also, King George is alive?!

Wait can someone tell me if something happened while Henry and Charming were sword fighting. The abc.com stuff cut off there.

Is anyone else amused that they seem to have a guys in one realm and girls in the other realm thing going on?

What was up with the heartbeat behind the gold wall thing in Regina's secret stash place?

The second half of this episode was great. The ogre scene was meh. Regina's mother is a good villain and good acting from her.

Regina's mother, Cora, is played by Barbara Hershey. She is a very good actress. I thought the ogre scene was dumb, too. They can only track by noise, but it looked like this one was using his eyesight, too.

WHERE HAS THIS SHOW BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!
