Mary Anybody up for a midnight Toys-r-Us run on 4/23?

Hey guys and gals,

As you know the release of the AOTC toy line is 4/23. Are any TRU's in your neck of the woods going to open at midnight? I'm S.O.L. in my neck of the woods. I'd be interested in traveling across the bridge for an event such as this (possibly Annapolis/Glen Burnie)
If anyone is interested in staging something, post it! I'd Love to come.

I'll definitely be going to the TRU in Glen Burnie Mall. I did the midnight run there for Episode I and it was great. I'll see ya there.

 

Unfortunately, I cannot attend even though I'd really like to. I collect the action figures so I would go if I could. Something about working full-time seems to override midnight trips to Toys R Us.

 

I'd be surprised if I can even stay up that late. Ever since my college days ended, I started working full time, and my son entered my life, I can't seem to make it too far past 11 p.m.

 

Ahhhh, come on folks! I'm 29 y/o (probably the OLD GUISER of this concleve) And I'm willing to drive two hours from OC to be at a TRU that is actually gonna open. We can do better than this. Mogook and I cant be the only ones to show up!!

 

*Shrugs* Just as long as there's at least three of us, I guess I'll show. I'm not a big fan of downtown Glen Burnie at night.

*sigh* If you're the oldbie, I guess I must be the young'n here, dammit.

Derth should come too. A food fight could help pass the time.

 

A food fight followed by a raid on a toy store for AOTC stuff? This could be intriguing!!!!!

 

I've got just the cake for it too... made a lot of special modifications myself.

Its been my experience that the midnight run is over-rated anyhow. I didn't participate in that run when the Episode I figures came out but I got them all on the first day anyway. Mind you I will still acquire all of the new action figures come opening day, whether midnight, noon or evening, they will be mine.

 

When did 29 become old? [face_shocked] If that's the case, I'm right on your heels at 28. I turn 29 in November.

 

Well I must be the geezer of the group! Hehe. I am 30 and will be 31 on the 24th of this month.

I'm halfway up the hill and can see the top very, very clearly....

I never thought I'd see the day when 28 was old. But I guess I thought the same way when I was younger.

The only action figure I'm looking forward to is the Yoda "kicking butt" action figure! Yeah!!!!

Still waiting for the Corpsey the crispy Ewok Non-Action figure too!!

 

This time when the action figures are released, I need to take a best guess at which one's I think will become rare. I chose poorly for TPM.

 

I don't think any of the initial wave of figures will be rare.

For TPM, there was a good line forming outside of TRU.

 

You dont go to TRU at midnight for the toys (well ya do, but you could get them anytime that day.) You go for the comraderie and 5 hours of SW Trivial Persuit before the store opens. Come on, do I have any takers? I'm also up for suggestions for a better TRU location.

 

I'm all for it. Glen Burnie's fine as long as we have a few other people there. Otherwise, I guess the Annapolis one is another good possibility.

 

There should be a good amount of people not counting the people in this forum.

 

Annapolis sounds ALOT better to me also. (I get lost easy!)
