    thats a great idea getting donations from vendors. :) Your groups sounds very organised and seems like it took great team offort to pull it off.

    and yes topping it next year will be tough ;) lol but there ya go, something to work on now .... :p

    Thanks for the raffle tips. We do close to the same thing at Pittsburgh Comicon, but have not gotten near $1000 in total donations. Congrats on such a great success with it.

    Definitely hit up the vendors at the show for donations. Tell them that you'll thank them over the PA when you do the drawing (that's how we did it). Besides, what's the worst thing they can do, say no?

    Oh yeah, make sure you ask them when there is quite a few people at their table. They'll be less likely to say no and alienate customers. ;)

    Another hint for selling raffle tickets is walking around the con with the items for raffle help to get the numbers up.

    We did this with the Tantive IV lego..it was getting heavy after awhile, but we sold all the tickets.

    Several people from the 501st and Rebel Legion bought many raffle tickets and I would like to thank both of those groups for there help and there donations.
