Memph, TN BOWLING - Friday, November 21 at the Cordova Bowling Center

With the holidays rapidly approaching, everyone's calendars are about to get more hectic than usual. So, I'm looking to see who all is available on one of the following dates for our next get-together:

Saturday, 11/15

Friday, 11/21

Saturday, 11/22

Which would you rather do on one of those dates?

Dinner & bowling in Cordova

Dinner & roller skating in Olive Branch

 

The Friday 11/21 or Saturday 11/22 would be better for Robert and I. Metallica is going to be in Little Rock on that Saturday night and we really wanted to go, but money is too tight to spend on tickets, gas, and food. I know Robert would rather go bowling. I like either activity.

I vote for roller skating. We haven't done that yet. I'm cool with either of the dates.

 

How about a trip to London?

Yes, it's several thousand miles away and a few hundred quid/dollars in airfares. What about it?

 

I like the 15th better, since I get paid.

And I think my body would rather me go bowling. Yes...

 

Oh, if only, Ben. The dollar is in such dire straits right now that it would be worth just slightly less than toilet paper in the UK.

 

I've got a martial arts thing at the casino I'm going to with Jane and Ronnie on the 15th.

I'm good with either of the other. I dig bowling, but we've never done skating before.

More folks seem to like the bowling idea better than roller skating, so....

Dinner at the Cordova Huey's at 7pm. Hopefully, that gives everyone a chance to get home from work.

 

Oooo! Huey's makes the best cheese sticks!

 

Fine, looks like Tim and I will have to take a trip to Funkytown by ourselves.

 

Oh, I have a feeling that skating will occur eventually.

 

Skating's going to have to occur, eventually. It just won't be right slow-skating to "When I Need You" with Lin.

 

It wouldn't be the first time y'all have slow-danced together.

Obviously Tim was making my drinks pretty strong that night!

 

I still have my skates from 7th grade...and they still fit. I think the last time I went skating was at Cordova Skating center about two years ago. I felt really old, but if I have other old folks there, what the hell?

 

Last time I went skating, I broke my wrist.

 

I have wrist guards you can use.

I have no clue where my skates ended up after my last move. I do have some roller blades. I haven't been on them in at least a year.

Back when I was going to JR/high school in Southaven I spent just about every Friday and/or Saturday at the skating rink, at least until I could drive and go elsewhere. Started skating at the one on Brooks back in the late 70's.

Didn't we run into the owner or manager of the Olive Branch skating rink at some event?

I have roller blades I've never used. I got them in the discount rack at Wally World.

 

I'd bust out my Bauer's for that one!
