A few denominations---e.g., female Twi'leks and all Falleen---seem to be well adapted to take advantage sexually of other species, humans in particular.

    Why?

Humans are by far the most successful of the species in the galaxy. If one can take advantage of humans, one can get quite far.

Hence, sexual parasitism---such as Prince Xizor, a reptile, having a penis and testicles (see SHADOWS OF THE EMPIRE) or his niece having breasts (see SHADOWS OF THE EMPIRE: EVOLUTION).

Thus, because humans are so successful, it is to the benefit of other species to be more humanlike---some, like the Mon Calamari, simply in that they are bipedal, roughly human height, and have approximations of human physiology. Others, like the Falleen, have almost identical physiologies, so as to take advantage of the dominant species.

Firstly, mastadge: you said "(if) the alien is furry (it is) thus stereotyping a pet instead of a person"

That is a very narrow minded thing to say, i think. I mean the aliens can only have one of three things

    a) skin
    b) scales
    c) fur

as far as I know, or some varient of one of the above. So you've got a 1 in 3 chance of the author writing an alien in as having fur. And people relate more to mammals than reptiles or fish, so its an obvious decision to make a character with fur.

Oh, and although this is just an advertisement... if you can handle SW being turned into a soap and handle sexual situations, check out my round robin. But go there with caution...

Oh, as for the skin/scales/fur thing...

HOW DO WE KNOW IF THERE ISN'T ANYTHING OTHER THAN THAT?

For all we know, a person could be make of Grappaloonity, which is very silky on the outside, but very brittle and tough on the inside.

On their side, they're probably joking that we have SKIN! How scandulous

On that planet/quadrent...do they have Grappaloonity flicks?......or say...woah...that {noun applying to that species} is showing a lot of Grappaloonity?...or say "I Grappaloonityed my {part of anatomy of those who have Grappaloonity that is associated with a knee...}"?

Tears of Palpatine: I was wondering if you could give us a detailed analysis of the evolutionary benefits of Jabba the Hutt's breasts as well?

They probably exist like camel humps to hold in moister in dry dessert regions.

An excellent supposition. It is known that the original planet of the Hutts is a rather hostile and uninviting place, which may encourage sturdier lifeforms (such as the Hutts) to develop fatty deposits in order to preserve their nutrients and water, etc.

Yeah, then they migrated to Nal Hutta. Too bad Kramer didn't live in the GFFA, maybe he could have invented the "huttsiere."

Well, he'd have to fight with George's dad first. He'd want to call it the Brutt. Or maybe the Bre. Or Bri. Or Bru. Or Bry. Or.... *goes on, fading away...*

Hey, there are plenty of aliens who don't look like humans.

Take Ewoks. They're furry, round, and fat.

I wonder how they'd have sex... there are no visible body parts... lolol, that would be funny to see, a pair of Ewoks going at it on the Nature Channel

Or maybe Chewie's "friend" is hiding in the bushes, so to speak.
