It is a well known fact that Canada is without question, the greatest country in the world. Whether it be our high life expectancy or our unbeatable health care, Canada has earned the reputation of being a kickarse country. Tell me everything that you love about Canada.

We need to unite by having every Candaian in this forum post a message here.

Peace out, and may the force be with you!

In no particular order, what I like about Canada is her...

    - huge variety of peoples, cultures, climates, and terrain
    - Timbits
    - gun control
    - Good Samaritan Act
    - poutine
    - icebreakers (the ships, not the socializing device)
    - pretty money
    - membership in the Commonwealth
    - trees
    - claim to Lester B. Pearson (father of UN Peacekeeping)
    - great beer
    - claim to Mike Myers, Jim Carrey, William Shatner, Alex Trebec, Shania Twain, Nelly Furtado, Moxie Fruvous, Bare Naked Ladies, and Nickelback
    - cool Maritime dialects like Acadian, Shediac French, Franglaise, and whatever that is that those older folks are speaking in Cape Breton
    - national and provincial parks
    - best export: hockey players
    - example of democracy
    - real Rocky Mountains
    - most beautiful wonders of nature like Niagara Falls, Great Bear Rainforest, and Hayden Christiansen
    - huge nickel in Sudbury
    - contribution to medical science of insulin (discovered by two Canadians)
    - having a Queen
    - *real* maple syrup
    - foreign policies and general respect for the sovereignty of other nations
    - people's friendliness, politeness, and sense of humour

^ You crazy, no way! I don't want cold to come back, I'm fine being able to see the road again, and be able to go out without a tuque and mittens.

    My little contribution:

    -Pate Chinois
    -Ragout de Pate de Cochon
    -Tourtiere
    -Introducing Corn to the Europeans
    -Wonderful, interesting History of ours.
-Well known for the fishing on ice, the electricity, paper industries.
-Well ranked when it comes to goalies for hockey.

LJS out! But will probably come back in a min... :p

On this side of the country, we're in a blizzard, so yes, the weather must go.

Umm...you got me there. I guess when Winnipeg is somewhere else, like outside of Manitoba, it just gets too warm. :p

Niagara Falls! Living just down the street form them, I sometimes take them for granted, but the truly are the most beautiful natural wonder in the world.

And we can't forget our Olypmic gold medals in men's and women's hockey. 5-2, my favourite numbers :D .

Yeah I guess you are right, but I really don't want to have to go outside with mittens and a tuque until November arrives... So if the weather must go that it leaves in east, and not west.

Hehehe that sounds like my good old Quebec to me.. ^.^

Let's see.... what i love about canada
    people are very friendly
you can go from the luxury of vancouver or toronto
to the solitude of the 'country' in just a few
    hours if not minutes drive.
We have really good alternative bands
even if we don't show our patriotism like our
neighbours south of the 49th we still pull
    through when it counts.
We claim the best hockey player in the entire world!
    WAYNE GRETSKY

For more reasons please read chicken soup for the canadian soul. If you're a patriot you won't be disapointed, and if you're not you'll be a good way there after finishing it.

    God save the Queen! :D

Besides, in this day and age it's the parliaments that make the laws and decisions while European sovereigns act primarily as a figurehead of leadership and inspiration for their people, providing those subjects a connection to their nation's history and pageantry that they (and not to mention the tourists) would otherwise not be able to enjoy. I think we'd stand to lose more than we'd gain by leaving the Commonwealth.
