Well Jennifer and I decided at the last minute to go up to Chicago to go see Wizards World. It was fun, lots of freaking dorks, we felt right at home. ;)

The Highlight for us was that we talked to Pam, Michonne, Amy, Jerome, Peter, Rusty, Dave, and Jeremy. The funny thing was... when they saw my Indy Knights Badge they just started talking away like we were close friends. So we talked a bit and got their info on C2 and how we as a group can make C3 better. Jeremy said he is already to come back to Indy!! So there is a hint if you had doubts if C3 would be back in Indy!! We did catch Jeremy selling photos with the C2 logo on it and he just smiled and said, "well there were going to throw them away." and Amy had here C2 poster and just looked and said "well..."

There were some other conversatins among us and overall they remembered the Indy Knights. So I just want to say WAY TO GO KNIGHTS for making C2 feel like home to the stars of Star Wars. They really appreciate all of our efforts. Jennifer and I did get some free stuff out of them. :)

    Really cool!

Well while we're at it, I''ll throw my $0.02 in :)

I got there on Saturday morning, and finding our hotel rooms weren't ready, went out to breakfast with the Quad City Jedi Order guys. Also, I was showered with gifts :D: I got my Obi-Wan pilot (and he's now sitting in his starfighter), and 2 Playskool sets: the Hoth and Episode 1 sets. We went around in costume, and had a great time doing that. We found, though, that we couldn't move due to one member dressed up as Vader. Got a chance to speak with Jan Duursema, Amy Allen, Michonne, Rusty Goffe, and David Prowse. When I mentioned to Prowse as being an Indy Knight, he was very friendly and happy to see me. I guess we really did leave an impression.

Saturday evening we went out to dinner with a few members of Chicago Force, as well as ObiWill from SW NYC and my friend Traci/Iwakura. Obiwill actually was a semi-celebrity because he appeared in the Triumph the Dog skit making fun of SW fans in line.

Surprisingly, I didn't go to any panels. All the ones I wanted to see weren't on Saturday. Oh well, regardless, I had a great time! Hope everyone had a good time too!

Heidi and I went MIB style to WW. To be honest, it realy wasn't as good as it has been in past years. I booked us a Best Western Room for the pool it turned out that they didn't have. We got up and went to the Con.... Got in at 10 and left about 2. I didn't see a lot of costumes this year, or Celebrities. Stan Lee cancelled. The guy who created the Men In Black was very impressed with us and our Stuffed "Frank the Pug" dog. That damn dog got a lot of attention. Anyway he took our picture as did many of the vendors. So that was fun. I got to talk to the creator of Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot about the characters and the cartoon we watched right before leaving. He was impressed that it was still on the air...anywhere. The Star Wars cast remembered us from C2 and chit Chatted with us breifly. Jeremy Bulloch is the nicest guy ever and Rusty always cracks me up. I didn't see the girls though. I did meet Tom Savini, a personal idol of mine as well as Stan Winston who i only got to see from a distance. All in all it was OK, but wasn't great.

Oh the stories to be told...

Had a blast this weekend. Got two nights free from the Hyatt, muffins from the Fett's, and was Michonne's escort. And that's just the PG stuff!!

First, thanks to David for going at the last minute - actually the tix were cheaper that way - go figure!

WW was really fun - to see the comic artists do their work right there without pencils and great big erasers was neat! I spent more than I wanted to on autographs, but that's just what happens when I get around our Star Wars friends. Plus, I forgot to take pictures - and I mean ANY pics, especially the one I wanted to take of Lou Ferrigno! I was also bummed that we didn't run into Al Snow (Jedi_gepper will know who that is!).

The one major wierd thing was the guy taking a picture of the women's restroom - way wierd!

All in all: really cool - too bad I can't go to San Diego - sounds like that one will be awesome.

Al Snow...now that a name I have not heard in a long time, a long time.

Founder of the famous J.O.B. Squad.

I don't see why more WWE people don't show up at these conventions. After all, they deal squarely in the realm of fantasy, don't they? I call it gladitorial soap opera, and it's my guilty pleasure. I hope I didn't shock anyone by exposing it as a scripted thing. Ah, well. It's like when you quite believing in the tooth fairy. Oh, wait, that's real. Never mind.

    Let's just remember...

Scripted does not mean fake! If anyone thinks wrestling is fake, read Mick Foley's book.

So much for Wizard's World. Sorry to hijack the thread as I have, but I have to concur that "scripted" and "fake" are not the same. I didn't read Mick Foley's book, but I did read the Rock's book. I'm a big admirer of how hard all of these guys and ladies work to be entertaining.
Anyway, it sounds like the convention was a grand time. Perhaps I'll go in the future when I have an actual income.

For the record, I have no upcoming "shows". I'm sorry, as always, to disappoint. ;)

I unfornately *shiver* caught some of the wrestling. Why did they decide to put a ring with a bunch of fat wrestlers right next to the snack area?! I've neer quite understood wrestling, but yeah it's entertainment. There were some scary scary people in that ring though. You didn't miss much, Gepper :)

Speaking of the Rock, while in Chicago I caught a little bit of SNL when the Rock was on it (I don't know if it was new because I don't watch SNL much anymore). There was a skit of him dressed up as Bigfoot singing with Neil Diamond. It was hilarious, and I can no longer look at Rock the same way :D

I can always look at the Rock in anyway, anytime, any manner of dress....!! Any yes, I have read both Mick Foley's and the Rock's book (yes, I am sad) and scripted it is, but also, very, very real.

I apprea to be jumping on the bandwagon here, but I have to agree that I could also watch the Rock in just about any time or place. In fact, when I saw "The Scorpion King" the first time, I got irritated because he spent too much time in the middle of the movie wearing far too much clothing. Oh, wait, I've said too much.
For the record, no Jade's Hand, you are not sad. You just know where real entertainment lies. I commend you for helping others to see the fun of it all.

Also, sorry I didn't make it to the Red Garter the other night. You all know how busy my nights must be that I would miss such a time, but there you have it. ;)
