It's coming to that time of year again, and what better way to celebrate than a good old-fashioned meet-up :D

So, any suggestions for ideas, dates, and locations?

Isn't going to a hot country defying the point of Christmas?
Christmas is meant to be cold, and snowy. OK we don't get much snow, but we still have the cold :p

Well, instead of snow, you get nice white-hot sandy beaches.

And Christmas in Australia is usually pretty hot from what I've heard (and from episodes of Neighbours :p) so it doesn't always have to be all cold and wet.

    We need a date.

I suggest either 9th or 16th December. Thoughts?

Tell that to someone who was raised in Australia! Ergo, me! :D

I'll admit, I do prefer Christmas Day in England. You appreciate your dinner more...somehow it just tastes better in a cool climate. However, Boxing Day onwards, I prefered it out there...I only used to live 5 minutes from the beach, so you can guess where I used to go to rest from the onslaught of Christmas grub! :p

And New Years was great, because we had a big backyard, with a concrete BBQ. We would have everyone around, and grill food all night under a warm star-filled night, and drunk until we couldn't see! T'was good, I tell the!

Anyway, the 1st of December is out for me, because that's when my Christmas dinner is with the Council.

December 9th is definetly out (at this point) due to a prior engagement.

    Cheers! [face_peace]

So far I can make any date. I think a meal would be nice but its the time of year for tight budgets so drinks are cool.

First off, no it isn't defying the point of christmas, it just means I won't be freezing my ass off and that I will be enjoying the all expenses paied privileges to the bar. Second of all its upto the person how they want to spend christmas and the actual meaning of christmas (religious or not) is the birth of Jesus which is in no way related to snow or the cold. Third of all, how I enjoy my christmas is to do with you how?...
