I just recently designed and built my first custom lightsaber and I was hoping that perhaps someone could give me some constructive criticism or tips for my next version I make. Here are some pictures. Many thanks in advance.

It's very pretty and the blue is unusual. How does it feel? Is it fragile at all? Can you take the blade out and wear it on your belt?

It is very sturdy. In fact we have used it to spar against my Force FX saber and it has no problems holding up. The blade is removable and takes only seconds to put on or take off. And thanks for commenting on the grip, that was my own personal touch as my favorite color is blue.

I would do the same, only with green, since that is my favorite color. Love what you did with this design. Even the color makes it stand out as its own, unique identity... which, I think, is what I like the most about it!

The blue coils are great! It's an interesting contrast to the red saber. Is that part of the backstory for the character you created it for?

I like the hilt overall. I would use Black over the blue. I like the use of Black near the emitter.

I also like the use of blue. It is unique, and a nice touch. The quality of the build is far better than my first saber build.

    Well done!

Only change I would make would be to if you're going to use the blue, use it on both sets of rubber grips, top and bottom.

Then again, this is purely a cosmetic personal choice, but I think it would look better.

I like it, it has a classic look, but with a twist

This. Having the blue just on the bottom, especially a blue as bright as that, just seems unbalanced. While I like it overall, I too would recommend having some blue up at the top.

While blue is my favorite color as well, I think this shade of blue is just a little too bright. I like that there is blue, but I think a darker/more subtle shade might be more effective.
