^I suppose you're right. Maybe it was a case of neither side wanting to piss off the other, so they kind of danced around the issue. But if he hated the TPM puppet, then why didn't he tell them to redesign it before filming began? I guess maybe Lucas kind of likes to give his creative staff quite a lot of freedom. That does come across in the documentaries, and so far, most of what I've seen and read points to Lucas being the complete opposite of the way the media and the disgruntled fans paint him as an anal crontrol freak.
