All Heroes: You move back into the room.

Arleadith: The brick slides away from the wall with ease, floating eerily across the room in the air. Inside the nook which the brick left behind, two objects can be found. One appears to be an iron ring attached to the wall, the other a tiny pyramid-shaped crystal vial.

Arleadith: You take the cristal vial, and notice that it contains a thick, dark blue liquid. It is identified to be a Healing Potion. Once it's inside your pocket, don't forget you left it there.

Arleadith: The iron ring resembles a door knocker. When you pull on it, a chain to which it was attached is revealed. It appears to be a switch of some sorts, and a clicking noise is heard from the floor in the middle of the room, beneath the carpet.

All Heroes: The carpet is pulled aside, revealing a heavily rusted iron trapdoor beneath. It has an inward-built handle, and there are several ancient runes inscribed around it.

Aranox: The door's rust is harsh on your sense of smell, and it prevents you from being able to detect anything below.

    Arleadith:
You can tell that the runes have something to do with warding. It probably means that the door has some sort of special lock.

Aranox: After pulling at it with brute strength, the door's handle breaks off, and some rust chips fly across the room. It seems like the iron has been weakened severely by the oxidation it has suffered through the years.

Jancelot: As you grab the chair, two of its legs fall off, each crumbling in half as they land on the ground. Apparently, the wood has also been severely deteriorated by the weather over the years. You throw it at the door anyway, but it has no effect other than covering it with old splinters.

Aranox: The rusted frame collapsed after you bashed your fist several times into the door. The heap of rust fell through the hole, landing about ten feet below. There is a sturdy steel ladder leading down into the darkness. (Because of your vision, you can see that the floor at the bottom is made of marble.)

    "Alright then, let us proceed."

Jancelot straps his shield on his back, sheaths his weapon, and starts going down the ladder.

"Strange how the gate was severely rusted but the ladder remains untouched by the elements."

All Heroes: The group descends the ladder into the room below. The walls of this room are covered in bookshelves, and three wooden tables form a triangle near the center. On top of these tables lie several tools of alchemy, flasks and tubed contraptions being the most noticeable. Surprisingly, not a single trace of dust can be found in this room; it is almost as if it had never been touched by the elements nor the flow of time...

"Looks like someone's been entertained around here."

Search the bookcases and tables for useful items, all the time looking for any traps that might be around.

Jancelot: You begin your search with the three tables first. As soon as you take a closer look, a small object near a quill and some parchment attracts your attention. It resembles a goldpiece-sized, triangular pebble with a runic symbol scribed on one side and a three-pronged steel claw attached beneath it. You recognize it as a Rune of Acid, a powerful magic item which covers any blade's edge with a strong corrosive acid. If you focus your will on the symbol while holding the stone to your weapon's hilt, it will be absorbed by that weapon permanently. Once that happens, the rune's power will come into effect at the wielder's command. The acid is harmless only to the weapon's wielder.

Arleadith: You have already descended the ladder without breaking your concentration. Descending a ladder is a borderline action when it comes to breaking your concentration, but since you're not rushed, it's ok. Remember that whenever a character moves, be it for better or worse, the rest of the group moves with that character unless you have specified that you do not want to do so beforehand.

Aranox: You look around in the book shelves, and you come across a small metal flask. It is contains a strange clear fluid that smells like lead. You believe it is an Ironskin Potion. These are said to make the drinker's flesh as hard as steel for a limited time. Use it wisely.
