I made a similiar topic like this one in the same forum months ago. The topic is locked now, but you can find some more advice here. :)

don't post to run up your post count.

agreed..i haven't been on enough to run my post count up (i have been here since may 02 and i have only 920 or so posts). posts that one word in them or the imfamous "+1" are usually frowned on.

Stay away from people that make a big deal about being oldbies.

But, take help where ever you can get it.

btw, know your role...I'm an oldbie

Yes in my book you are, yet according to a few you'd still be considered a Newbie or a Midbie mainly cause of your registration date ;) :D .

AmazingB is right about thinking before you post, but I would add, READ before you post. When you venture into a new forum, take the time to see what's already there, open a few threads and reply to other people's threads, and join in existing conversations. Do this for a couple of days at least before you start your own threads. And please don't post new threads on redundant topics. If there's already an existing thread on a topic in the first 2 or 3 pages of the forum, post to that thread instead of starting a new one. I'm telling you this for your own good. If you post a redundant topic, you could get yelled at by other members.
