    Hi Everyone,

    Fisrt time poster here.

I'm looking at creating the Galen Marek Sith Training costume for an upcoming halloween party, but I need to do it on a budget.

Does anybody have any tips or ideas to help me reach my goal?

Thank you in advance and MTFBWY

I may not be the best person to advise, but here's my quick&cheap suggestions:
1: black/charcoal grey jumpsuit. You can get some airforce surplus coveralls that can be a good base.
2: the cloth wrappings. some people know how to sew that kind of pleat so that it looks good/right and is easy to take off & put on. I'm not one of them. Find a thin material that is opaque enough to stand out against your base suit but light enough that heat isn't a problem.
3: Boots. this can make/break a costume faster than almost anything else. Get ones that look good. Then modify. I've seen "super hero" boots in red & black this year that might be ok (only seen the online pics, so no guarentees). Add wrappings in the light cleam and/or black.
4: belts and straps. Take your best shot. leatherette/vinyl can work. Kinda-sorta. Military surplus may be your friend again. Or a biker shop. Or a leather crafts store if you have the time and skill(s)
5: the collar piece. Not sure what to tell you there. Fiberglass? Sintra? leather? faux-leather? See what you can do in the time available and your skill set.
6: lightsaber. Find the tutorial that helps you most. OrangeBox/BigYellowBox (?) was pretty good last I checked (5 years ago)
7: (Shredded) drapings. Take some left over fabric and have a tug-of-war with a dog. Wash. Slash with scissors. attach.
8: crewcut. Consult your local hair specialist.

Hope that helps give you some ideas.

Is this the outfit you're planning to make?
