Hi, anyone else enjoying the cool weather?... I promise I won't go into any philisophical ideologies about it...

 

Since this thread was about the movie, how was it?

BanthaGrl- I had mine today.

Rusty- Don't flatter yourself. You didn't hurt my feelings. Believe me, it takes a lot to do that. I have pretty thick skin. Look at it from my POV for a sec. It seems(and I could be wrong), nearly everytime you post something, you're complaining about this, that or the other or slamming something. You write a huge tirade and then act surprised when someone responds with a contrary view. If you want to pontificate, fine. Be my guest. Just don't freak when not everyone agrees with you. Honestly, I could care less if a person doesn't like SW. It's been a big part of my life since 1977, but I'm not going to carry the Lucasfilm banner and try to convert people (like a lot of Trekkies I've known). If they don't like it, big deal.

When it comes down to it, I feel Lucas is making these movies for himself, first & foremost. That so many people have flocked to the SW stories is secondary. We have all found something within Star Wars that we identify with.

Now in regards to AlphaCon, you had a vantage point most of us didn't. You were scarred by certain events. Most of the rest of weren't. The impression I'm getting is that since it wasn't what you expected, the rest of us should follow suit and fall in line with your opinion. For myself, I had no faults with AC. I thought it rocked. The vibe I get from you when someone says "I liked it" is "Oh, you poor misguided soul. If only you'd seen what I saw". None of us saw what you did, so why try so hard to alter someone else's perception?

Well, this has become quite the novel (you don't have the Monopoly on long winded tirardes, Rusty). We've both done some venting here and for me, it felt good.

I just think we all need to remember, that none of us is a better SW fan than anybody, regardless of experiences, collections, number of times seeing the movies, etc. I'f I was out of line for my posts, I expect, Bobafemme & everyone else here to tell me so. If a majority of OFF members feel that way, I'll post an apology & shut the heck up. Until then Rusty, truce?

 

Hi Bob! The movie was hysterical. Our meeting was even more so! Maybe Yatchie will let you post the pictures of Jade eating on the fan film site!! Or of paperclipx's loud calypso shirt! A good laugh and a chuckle were had by ... most! And you missed my Phantom Menace obervations and trivia speech! And me, yatchie, and paperclipx cracking dirty jokes!

I think poor Jade would rather eat glass then be around me again. And by the way, since you used the booster seat, meens you put it away ha ha ha.

But really enjoyed the meeting, I did forget to take my Ritalin, that explains alot now doesn't it. I'll see about getting those pics to Bob, just gotta figure out how to get them from my camera to my computer.
