You know, it just occurred to me that I have no idea who to look for.

I'll be wearing black shoes, blue jeans and a dark grey long sleeved shirt.

I've never been to a convention so I don't care which one! Dragon Con does get some celebrities though...

I would love to go this year. Last year, the tickets were like $75 each. I had planned on going, but had to bail, so I am pumped for this years, even if I don't dress up. I have to get to work on the robes soon..

It's August 29th - Sept 1, but no prices on tickets yet..

 

I'm really excited about D Con also, I've been wanting to go for years. Would anyone be interested in going to the dinner the night before that's hosted by the Hothlanta Rebels

 

I do hope that at least a few of you can make it to Dragon*Con. It really is loads of fun! And the Hothlanta Rebels dinner was wonderful in 2002, so I'm hoping that it will be a success once again.

I think the ticket prices are $45 right now. They will go up again in Mid-Feb, I think. Keep checking the DragonCon website. They're bound to have the prices listed soon.

 

Okay... update time.

I setup a Linux server at my house and I am hosting a web server and mail server on it right now. If everything works like it should the domain name

nivuahc.is-a-geek.com

should be up for a while.

(Right now, if you go there, you will only see the Apache webpage telling you that I installed and configured it properly.)

I can make a domain name specifically for our group and I can host the website and graphics there.

The benefit of this is that I can do whatever I want on our server and our storage space is limited only by the size of my hard drive.

So, if we want moveable type on our webpage... no problem.

If we want a discussion forum... also not a problem.

If we want to post naked pictures of James on there for all the world to see... well, I honestly have a problem with that

My potential plans for this server are as follows:


I may set up email accounts for all of us (at least those of us who want one) using whatever domain name we chose such as darthnivuahc@tuskens.homelinux.org or something like that.

I may set up a webmail system so that we can all access our email from anywhere with a web connection.

I may put up a discussion forum (The JC really makes that kinda pointless in a way).

I may put my plans for world domination online for everyone to study.


Any-hoo... give me a couple of days to get everything straight and I'll have something for all of you to see.

Before that happens, I want to get the discussion forum up and running.

I'd rather PM your login/password information to you on our own board than the JC.

I put up a temporary page for now but, once again, I'll be doing some major work over the next couple of days (i.e. expect some outages).

I'm gonna change that domain name, hopefully tonight, so the email address on the temp page should be accurate.... or at least close.

I also think that the info email address should belong to bluestarwizard since he's our Rep and all.

Like I said, ideas and suggestions are welcomed.
