    The Story

A dark cloud looms over Sayrea, a planet far on the outer rim; coming rain makes the air heavy and thick. The native life all seek cover quickly, this storm holds ill tidings.

Suddenly, a burning mass arc across the sky, a ship falls from the stars to the surface. This ship was supposed to be a research vessel seeking a new planet to colonize. This horrible display of fire and smoke was witness by group of human hunters, descendants from a long ago ship that had also crashed to this place as well, they watch in awe from a distance before running back to their village to warn their people.

The ship crashes and drags across the ground, flames roaring and screams are heard. As it finally comes to a rest, the clouds released their bounty. The rain helps douse the flames and the occupants begin to emerge.

The hunters were not the only ones to see this event, bright red eyes flash as a lightning bolt races across the sky, rain storms here can be dangerous but not as much as the creatures who watched from afar, the True Natives of Sayrea; and this latest intrusion of their home would not go unpunished.

    The Game

This RPG is set before in the Star Wars universe pre-clone wars. The goal for the characters is to survive and get back home, or maybe find a home here on this new planet. Your character can choose which side to support if you even wish them to leave the crash site at all.

Technology on this world is very low, the village is a farming community with hunter parties. Blasters are uncommon and rare. The same goes for the True Natives.

    Some Background

The villagers are the decedents of a ship crash 3 decades ago; it was a refuge ship seeking a new home after a civil war had ravaged their home.

    The Character Choices

Because this was a ship going in to uncharted territory there can be these types of characters

    · Jedi-for protection (max two; any level)

    · Republic officials (high level or assistants)- to stake the legal clam to the planet

    · Shop Personnel (Captain, Crew)

    · Scientists/researchers- to make sure the planet was inhabitable

    · The descendants of the first crash- predominately human but there could be other species or half breeds

    · The True Natives- they bare a resemblance to the creature Defel (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Defel) (for this story they are visable)

Of course if you can think of anyone else (stowaway, passenger/family member, droid) who could have a reason to be there then just PM me a CS. You can create up to two character for this RPG but both can’t be Jedi. (this way more than one person can be a Jedi) Remember characters may die in this RPG your goal is to survive.

The outline for a CS should be as follows:

    Name:

    Age:

    Race and gender:

    Homeworld:

    Appearance (description or picture):

    Profession:

    Weapons/Equipment (if any):

    Rank (if any):

    Bio:

    The Rules:

    1. No God-modding.

    2. PM CS to me for approval before posting.

    3. GM word is final.

    4. Please Keep out of character comments to a minimum.

    5. Please use PM with me.
    Have Fun!

    Name: Solus Tova
    Age: 23
    Race and gender: Human Male
    Homeworld: Mandalore
    Appearance:

    Skin Color: Tan
    Hair Color/Style:Brown, worn almost shaved
    Eyes: Two, Brown, slightly farsighted
    Height: 5'11"
Clothing: Typically wears Jedi Field Robes in a medium gray color over

    Profession: Jedi
Weapons/Equipment: Standard Jedi equipment belt (variable with mission type), and a single bladed Lightsaber, green blade.
    Rank (if any): Knight

    Bio:
Born on the planet Mandalore, Solus Tova was the son of a bounty hunter father and a cargo pilot mother. They released him to a Jedi recruiter when they were called up to war by the current Mandalore. He was raised and trained with his Master in the relatively peaceful time before the Separatists formed and waged war against the Republic. Solus' ability to read terrain, and find strategic advantage in most situations made him a capable Padawan when it came to combat, and though he was an excellent soldier (as any Mandalorian should be, he believes), a commander he was not.

Typical Jedi reserve was not something that he had in long supply, and he tended to get too focused on his comrades and their survival, rather than the overall mission. He fought battle to battle, challenge by challenge, taking each as they came, dealing with the now, rather than the "what might be". He had a lower fatality and injury rate in every unit he was a part of, as a result of his focus and particular set of skills, but he was a warrior Jedi without a war to fight.

Assigned to a colonization team headed for Sayrea, he's anxious to see what challenges await. Finally, a battle for him to fight.

Bio: Cam was born on Nar Shaddaa to two wealthy merchants. He grew up working with the Hutts and served them as a smuggler. Eventually he grew tired of this setting and decided to back out of his contract with the Hutts. This infuriated them because it resulted in Cam making off with quite a bit of their money. The Hutts sent plethora of bounty hunters after Cam, all of which he either killed or eluded. There was one however he could not escape as easily as others. The bounty hunter had cornered him in the docks of Coruscant and Cam needed a way to escape this bounty hunter as safely as possible. Seeing an opportunity, Cam quickly hid himself in a docked ship's opened cargo bay and decided to wait there until he determined it was safe. Unfortunately for Cam this was a Republic ship bound for the outer rim world of Sayrea.

    Appearance (description or picture):

Profession: Scientist (Archeology and Anthropology)Weapons/Equipment (if any): One small, but powerful stun pistol. Mostly used to protect himself from wildlife while working in the wilderness. Rank (if any): Chief Anthropologist

Bio: Ken was born on the humble planet of Chandrila. He had a normal childhood and after coming of age, joined the military service. A military education was the only one he could afford as his family struggled to make ends meet. While in the service, Ken supported his family; sending them money every week. While serving, he also enrolled in the Grand Academy on Chandrila to study Anthropology and Archeology. After 12 years he finally had his Doctorate. He left the service then and started working for the government from the public sector.
He worked on many under-the-radar excavations and studies until he caught the attention of a Coruscanti Exploration Company. After a couple trial assignments he had made huge strides in understanding foreign races and had opened up a valuable trade line to a previously untamed world. Confident of his skills, he was confronted with the opportunity to join an exploratory trip to Sayrea. His employers hoped he could explore this unknown planet and find what resources might be available. He will also be a usefull addition to understanding the behavior of any natives.
So Ken packed his field tools, his Field Droid (R9R), and left for Sayrea. Little did he know the fate that awaited him when the ship he was on fell out of the sky.

    GM APPROVED!!!

    Name: Bryce Stark

    Age: 25

    Race and Gender: Human Male

Personality: Bryce is a friendly person, always quick to crack a smile of wink at a passing female. He also has an inborn need to always strive to be better, this is bred from his earlier life with his family, which causes him to strive to be better both as a person and a Jedi so he can live up to what they wanted for him. Bryce is calm and collected during stressful situations, but like most normal people it only lasts so long and many times he finds himself fighting off feelings of fear, anger and guilt. And as for loyalty a person will find no one more loyal than Bryce, who proves this through his words and actions.

Appearance: Bryce is an average looking man; he stands 6’0 tall, and even though he has light skin it has been thoroughly tanned from years of being outside. His body is toned and hardened from years of practice and exercise required of a Jedi, leaving him with sinewy muscles. Bryce has short brown hair, green eyes and what one would call an average face, with a straight nose, slightly bushy eyebrows and a friendly smile.

    Profession: Jedi

Weapons/Equipment (if any): Wears standard Jedi robes that are brown and tan in color with a olive green cloak, but also wears vambraces on his forearms and a pauldron on his left shoulder both made of leather and a layer of interwoven cortosis. Bryce wears a leather utility belt as well with pouches where he keeps items essential to the mission at hand. And as for weaponry Bryce always carries with him his single bladed lightsaber with its entrancing blue blade. He also keeps a knife on his belt just in case.

    Rank (if any): Jedi Knight

Bio: Bryce was born on the snow covered steppes of Toola to a humble family that made their living hunting the local fauna. Bryce’s parents were poor in comparison to most of the inhabitants of Toola, who made their living off trading at Ithaqua Station. When Bryce was born he joined a family of four children who were born a few years before him, he grew up with two sisters and two brothers, which brought worry to his parents who were already having trouble feeding four mouths by the time he came along, but they made due. As the years passed Bryce grew and learned his father’s trade of hunting along with his two other brothers, but his parent’s knew that he couldn’t stay here forever, none of their children could. It wasn’t until one day that the family went to market to sell their good that a mysterious man in a long robe stopped Bryce’s father and began to talk to him quietly. At the time Bryce was too young and had no idea what was taking place but he would soon learn that he was coming face to face with his own destiny. A short time later the man departed leaving Bryce’s father to explain to him what was now to take place and that it was for the best. His parent’s loved him with all their hearts he knew and they wanted a better life for him. Later that night he left Toola never knowing if he would ever return home...

Years passed and the years that Bryce spent at the Jedi Academy on Coruscant as a youngling drug on. Long and monotonous days of classes and practice filled Bryce’s life now, learning of Jedi history, reading about and practically applying lightsaber techniques, as well as tuning into the force that dwelled within him. It was tedious work but Bryce completed whatever task appointed to him dutifully. At night he still dreamed of Tool and if he would ever see his family again. He tried to wipe the memories from his mind, knowing a Jedi could have no ties with his former family, due to the emotional attachment, as well as for their own protection from those who would do harm to a Jedi’s family.

Years passed on once more and now Bryce was a young man, who had grown strong physically as well as mentally, learning to tune into the gift of the force within him. He wasn’t the top of his class of padawans but he was soon chosen by a master when the time came, the same man who had found him on Toola, a Master by the name of Kay Ki-Shek. Under the tutelage of Master Ki-Shek Bryce’s solid understanding of the force grew tenfold as his master taught him the ways of the force and how to apply them to any situation, as well as the lightsaber forms which Bryce took great interest in and practiced even on his own time. Learning became more interesting under Master KI-Shek and Bryce was more prone to listening intently and understanding then he had been as a youngling. By the time Bryce was 21, Master Ki-Shek deemed that it was well past time for Bryce to begin the trial to Knighthood, the council agreed but before Bryce could be notified of the good news a war on a planet in the outer rim soon began involving the local inhabitants and a slaver army. This urgent news caused the trials to be delayed, Bryce and his master soon departed for the backwater planet. While on the planet Bryce and Ki-Shek took part in the war on the side of the local populace, fighting against the slavers in fierce guerilla warfare. But during an ambush that turned terrible wrong, their entire squad was wiped out Bryce found himself alone with his severely wounded master. Refusing to leave his master behind, Bryce continued on, carrying Ki-Shek for three days through the wilderness with neither food nor water. They were forced to survive of what little they could scavenge from the earth. On the fourth day a friendly patrol found the two, sleep deprived, starved and looking as the patrol described “like zombies”. Upon their return to Coruscant and with the recovery of Master Ki-Shek complete, Bryce was deemed ready to be promoted to the rank of Knight. The Council agreed that no trial would be necessary after such a harrowing act of selflessness and courage that Bryce displayed during the mission. He was soon promoted to the rank of Jedi Knight, where he was assigned and completed numerous missions for the order ranging from extremely dangerous to boring and monotonous political distputes. Upon return to Coruscant from a mission of Alderaan, Bryce was put on a protection detail for a colonization expedition.

    Sayrea
    Night Voyager crash site
The rain continued its down fall upon the smoldering remains of the Night Voyager; its battered crew was huddled under an impromptu lean-to trying to wait out the storm. The captain of the ship was an old human man with nearly all gray hair but despite his years he stood tall and was still strong. He was the last to emerge from the wreckage swearing viciously under his breath, his ribs were sore from the impact; it was a rough landing but it could have been much worse.

“Blast it all!” he shouted, the storm thundered on drowning him out. He trudged over to the group, “We’ll have to wait till daylight to see how much damage Night took, see if she can be saved. Don’t even know what went wrong with her.”, he said to the group shaking his head. “Is everyone here alright?”

Lighting flashed outlining the small group, tattered and worn and some scared. Among the group he made out Solus Tova and Bryce Stark the ship’s Jedi escorts , Trip Farr his pilot, and Ken Glassdoor the expedition’s chief anthropologist, the light was gone too fast to see the rest of the ship’s crew; there were a few small families with children on board as well, he hoped they made it through alright.

“We’ll get proper head count come daylight” he announced, “Until then we’ll just wait out this storm.” He crossed his arms wincing as they came to rest on his rib cage.

Meanwhile in the Night Voyager's cargo hold

In the cargo hold of the ship, loose cables sparked as they hung and swayed boxes were sprawled and busted open, rations and equipment laid around haphazardly. Among the wreckage was Cam Hill laid sprawled out but all in one piece. Also among the wreckage, hiding behind a large crate, was a young human girl, only four standard years old, named Haidma. She had been playing with a little twi'lek girl from one of the other families, but when the ship began to have turbulence the twi'lek had run black to her parents while, Haidma stayed behind and continued to play. Now here she was scared and trapped, the hatch to the ship wouldn't open, a wire must have gotten loose, and to top it off she was all alone. Or so she had thought; she hadn't seen this man before but she was too scared to be cautious. She lightly poked him, and then said timidly. "Sir I'm trapped-" she hiccupped tears forming, "Please sir! I want my mommy..." she sobbed, grabbing the front of her dress in distress, “will you h-help me?"

    Sayrea

    The True Natives’ home camp

The camp was abuzz with anger and distress; the hunters had come back with disturbing news. More invaders had come from the stars, it had been decades from the last invaders had arrived and the tribe had managed to contain them to a small area outside their hunting ground. The hunters had no chance to see how many invaders had arrived but the fact that they had defaced their lands with their flying machine was enough for battle cries to be heard. Morra the Shaman of the village, sat in her hut listening to the commotion, a messenger for the Chief appeared in her door way giving a low bow out of respect.

”Our chief is holding a meeting to discuss these new invaders; he humbly requests your presence Wise One.”

Bryce Stark, Night Voyager crash site

Bryce stood sober and stoic underneath the lean-to that the survivors of the Night Voyager had made to shield themselves from the vicious pelting rain from the sky of the planet known as Sayrea. He watched over the group of scared and dismayed passengers, most still in quite a bit of shock from the crash. Bryce thought back to the crash and the moment he knew something was wrong with the ship. They were just about to enter the atmosphere of Sayrea when something sounded out of place for a starship, at least to someone who had a trained ear for it. The engine began to make a small whine as if being stressed and then everything just red. The emergency lights in the ship had turned on and the alarm blared in Bryce’s ears. They soon entered the atmosphere and that when things got bumpy and soon the ship was bucking and turning the likes of which Bryce had never seen and then everything went black.

Bryce awoke finally; he guessed he had been knocked out for at least a couple of hours. He looked around only to find the while interior of the ship was upside down. No that was a preposterous idea; he then realized what it was. Bryce was hanging upside down from the ceiling of the ship, his foot caught inside one of the cargo nets. He soon got his bearings and reached for the knife on his belt, he reached up and cut the straps holding his foot. And then down he went

“OOOF!!! O-O-O that was unpleasant!” grimaced Bryce through the pain he now felt in his back from just landing on it. He slowly got to his feet and started checking the hold for survivors

Bryce luckily recovered quickly after the crash. Afterwards he had no time for shock, his training kicked and his body and mind deftly went to work checking on survivors, hauling out the wounded and lining up and covering the dead with what little scraps of cloth or tarp they had left. It wouldn’t improve the passengers shock to see their dead father, mother, sister or brother lying dead in front of them. Once the situation was under control-thanks to the captain, his fellow Jedi Solus Tova as well as the head archeologist Ken Glassdoor- they quickly built a make-shift shelter for the rest of the survivors. Bryce looked over the poor people huddle before him; they were scared, wet, and confused. He knew he needed to protect these people from themselves and from whatever local fauna or individuals that inhabited this planet. The captain soon exited the wrecked and twisted ship and made his way towards them.

    “Blast it all!” he cursed

“We’ll have to wait till daylight to see how much damage Night took, see if she can be saved. Don’t even know what went wrong with her.”, he said to the group shaking his head.

“Is everyone here alright?” he asked

“For the most part captain, just in shock and a little banged and bruised but nothing some bandages and bacta won’t fix” said Bryce still looking at the soaked group. He himself was soaked through as well. Despite the thick material of his Jedi cloak the harshness of the rain soon made him soaked to the bone.

“Do we have enough food captain, how long will we be able to stay at the ship?” asked Bryce, hoping for the best answer but expecting the worst.

The True Natives’ home camp - Sayrea

Morra was standing, feeling the rumbles of the ground, even before the first warriors from the hunting party had returned. The storm, was powerful, and it its wake, she felt the Gods were speaking. She looked up, holding the 'magic box' in front of her. She did not activate it, but simply held it up, looking through it, as the lighting flashed brightly. She held still for a long time, before she put the box back in its hidding spot, and began to draw designs into the ground with her staff. Others in the village were begining to stir now, and their voices growing as an angry gorwl, their fear turning into cries for battle. It was not long before a warrior showed up to her doorway. The Chief's
messenger, one that Morra was familiar with appeared in her door way giving a low bow out of respect.

<”Our chief is holding a meeting to discuss these new invaders; he humbly requests your presence Wise One.”>

Morra gave the messenger a nod, as she moved her staff to her other hand. <Then we should not keep our Chief waiting."> she replied as she moved to follow, stopping only for a moment to grab another pouch hanging near the door. She would need to read the stones, on this meeting, she was sure. She had read the skies, and she knew she would need more, if she was to speak the words of Se'skar Murr. She followed the messenger to where the Chief wished to meet.

Trip Farr, Night Voyager Crash Site

Though it was not Trip's fault about the ship crashing, but it felt like it was. He saw it right before it happened, a tiny electrical surge it the ship's engines. Then he heard the whine of the failing engines and was reminded of the incident a Coruscant. After the crash he stumbled out into to the upside down halls of the ship with the rest of the bridge crew. He and a an ensign went to the ship's comm center away from the group. The comm center was deserted, which was lucky for Trip because he got sick around dead bodies.

It was hard for he and the ensign to try to get to the controls but after figuring out how to use the controls upside down they noticed that the comm was fried. It was most likely from the same surge that took out the engines. He and the ensign then walked out to the commotion of the crowd of people outside the ship. It was dark and only a flash of lighting made him see the faces around him.

As the crew started making a makeshift shelter Trip inspected the ship for damage finding it hard in the dark.

Cam "Raven" Hill, Wreckage of the Night Voyager, Cargo Hold

With a thud, Cam fell out of the broken cargo hatch. He laid there drifting between consciousness and unconsciousness trying gather what had just happened. He knew, of course that the ship had crashed, but he wasn't sure how it happened or where he was. As he began to transcend into consciousness he craned his head around trying to get an idea of what was around him. He was still on the inside of the ship, for the most part, and there was a massive crack in the hull to his right that he could easily squeeze himself through if need be. Cam heard the loud rumble of thunder and the sound of rain pounding the hull in a complete downpour. Somehow he knew he wouldn't be using that hole to get out anytime soon.

As Cam slowly began to rise onto his knees he felt something poking his arm. He whirled around with his hand on the handle of his energy pistol to be face to face with a young girl trapped behind a grate on the outside of the ship. "Sir I'm trapped- Please sir! I want my mommy...will you h-help me?" Relaxing, and taking his hand off his pistol, he examined the child's situation. She was quite terrified and trapped outside of the ship behind a grate that was heavily dented from the crash. The grate didn't look that hard to open in it's current state, but it was not something he could do with his bare hands.

"Alright, I'll help you in a moment just hold on." Cam said as he rose to his feet looked around the wreckage of the cargo hold looking for something to pry the grate open. After a few minutes of searching he found an electro-prod in a non-lethal weapons crate. Cam made his way back to the grate and jammed the prod in a separated place the crash had created in the grate and the hull of the ship. "You'd better stand back," Cam grunted to the girl as he attempted to pry the grate open.

Trip Farr, Night Voyager Crash Site

Trip's inspection of the ship resulted in noting but his clothes getting soiled. He headed back to the rest of the group finally seeing the captain. "Blast it all," he yelled. “We’ll have to wait till daylight to see how much damage Night took, see if she can be saved. Don’t even know what went wrong with her.”, he said to the group shaking his head back and forth.

Thunder cracked making hearing the rest of the captain's statement unheard. Lighting flash again along with a second wave of thunder making it light another to see the rest of the crew including the Jedi escorts. The captain then mumbled about the next day's inspection. Trip walked up to the captain and gave his report on the comm center. After that he went over to the lean-to and tried to comfort the families and children.

    Solus Tova

    Careful...careful...gently...and down.

    Easy...easy...woahwoahwoahwoah!....easy...gently...and down.

Solus carefully lifted and moved some of the crates that had been scattered afield into defensive positions around the open cargo bay of the overturned ship, and he was grateful that the Force was with him tonight. He enclosed the bay in a ring of stacked crates, giving staggered cover and forming a bottle neck so that the only way in could be defended by a small number of people. The crates moved relatively swiftly, and the work passed easily, but most of it was because he was preparing for combat, and that never seemed like work. Not really, anyway.

He stood in the rain, a few meters away from the lean-to that he and Bryce had helped put up, the rain pounding on his head. Big fat drops of rain that seemed to carry the weight of the thunder that crashed every few minutes slapped against his skin, soaked his clothes, and made him feel heavier than he was. He finally finished the defensive ring, and started trudging back towards the ship, his boots squishing underfoot, and squishing into the ground as well.

As he approached, he found Bryce standing watch over the survivors, like a good Jedi. Though it was their first mission together, Solus liked the taller man. He was friendly, always there to lend a helping hand, and willing to do the hard work that nobody else wanted to do. Solus found himself seeing a future for their partnership that would extend beyond this mission. They might even become friends.

He clapped the other Jedi on the shoulder, and found him squishily wet as well.

"I s'pose we should get some warmers going inside the ship, huh? Wouldn't do to let the crew catch a cold after surviving a crash." he said, nodding to the mobile heating rigs that were still tangled in the crash netting. "Probably couldn't hurt morale, either, letting folks dry out a bit. Wanna give me a hand?"

Bryce Stark, Night Voyager crash site

The captain had answered all of Bryce’s questions concerning the amount of the food stores and how long they could stay near the ship. Both answers were equally reassuring. Bryce continued to stare on at the survivors, a quiet and vigilant guardian. He hoped that his Jedi brother Solus tova would finish up soon with the accommodations he was making inside the wreckage of the ship so they would have a dry place to sleep, a fire and some protection from whatever inhabited this planet.

His curiosity was answered soon enough when Solus exited the ship and walked towards the shoddy lean-to. Bryce could see that Solus was also still soaked through and through, despite working inside the ship. Bryce turned and gave him a solemn but friendly smile, if truth be told it was more of a tired smile if anything, but he couldn’t show that he was tired, not in front of these people who he was to protect.

Solus approached him and clapped him on the shoulder, which sent up a few drops of water off his robes as well as a good squish. They were all soaked to the bone, and tired, which made Bryce hope that that Solus had some good news about the shelter for the night.

“Yes of course. The least we can do for these people given the circumstances.” Said Bryce with a slight smirk. He followed Solus over to where the mobile heating rigs were tangled up in a mass of netting and wires. The rigs weren’t large by any means, one man could move them with ease but they did have an abundance of them due to nature of this mission which was exploration and surveying, and for that you needed as much supplies as you could take because there was no estimating on how long a crew would be out on a newly discovered frontier.

Once the heating rigs had been moved inside Bryce gathered the survivors and quickly hurried them into the wreckage where it was dry and decently warm due to the heaters. One woman got to her feet and nearly slipped and fell backwards into the mud. Bryce quickly reached out and grabbed her around the waist to keep her from falling. Thank the force for quick reflexes he thought to himself. As he looked down at woman who he could tell had been terrified by the prospect of falling, he saw a beautiful face of a woman he guessed was around his age with long dark brown hair, stunningly blue eyes and a delicate heart shaped face. Bryce was entranced. But he quickly collected himself and set her upright on her feet. The woman had collected herself as well by then and no longer had a look of fear in her eyes.

“Thank you master Jedi” she said before shyly hurrying off to join the others in the ship. Bryce stayed put for a moment under the lean-to, letting the rain soak him further to the bone. What are you thinking Bryce? You’re a blasted Jedi not some womanizing vagabond, get ahold of yourself. This was not the first time Bryce and his inner self had had this confliction of ideals. Ever since Bryce had become a Jedi he had an internal longing for a wife, maybe even a family, he wanted someone to love, to grow old with. But all of this was denied to him by the Jedi code, he knew this but that only made his longing that much more intense. He tried to shake the thoughts from his mind as he always did but this time they seemed to stick more than usual.

Bryce was finally pulled out of his thoughts by the conversation of the people inside the ship, there was even a bit of laughter, which was a good sign, maybe the shock was wearing off and they were finally starting to recover. As Bryce walked towards the ship he still couldn’t shake the thought of the woman from his mind what is a woman like her doing in a place like this?

The rain continued its down pour on the misshaped crew, a small twi'lek girl ran around with the excitement of a four year old, A’sha had found her family and thus her little world was fine, although she did wonder what happened to the little human girl she had been playing with. She watched as the captain proceeded to ring out his shirt and vest.

“Do we have enough food captain, how long will we be able to stay at the ship?” asked the Jedi Stark, She had never seen a Jedi before this trip and just loved to watch them. The captain turned and answered the Jedi, “We had enough food and medical supplies for a month so the colonist could have a smooth start but with such a turbulent reentry and even more bumpy crash some of the supplies will be lost. I predict that we may have lost a third of it, my old smuggler’s instinct tells me so. Did I ever tell you the time when my instinct saved my ship from a mynock attack? Well it was years ago when I was 35-” the captain continued on his reminiscing the young girl rolled her eyes, she had heard this story twice already, the old captain just loved to relive his “glory days” at least that’s her daddy said.

She then spotted the other Jedi, Jedi Solus. She watched in awe as he placed crates in a ring around the cargo bay with nothing but hand movements. The crates seemed to have a mind of its own as the floated and sat on top of each other, the Jedi had a look of complete concentration. Out of curiosity she began to mimic him watching the it wasn’t until she actually tried and concentrated that one of the crates he was lifting actually wobbled a bit, she gasped and looked at her hands ‘Did I do that?

“I s'pose we should get some warmers going inside the ship, huh? Wouldn't do to let the crew catch a cold after surviving a crash." he said, She looked up in surprise, was he talking to her?

“What- oh, right, good idea master Jedi!” The captain replied stopping mid story. She jumped as she felt the captain’s hand pat her head gently, “I’m sure this little one is quite chilled!” The girl nodded and smiled at them.

"Probably couldn't hurt morale, either, letting folks dry out a bit. Wanna give me a hand?"

I agree. I’ll be glad to lend you a hand. Anymore volunteers? The captain replied, yelling back to the last part to the rest of the group.

“Yes of course. The least we can do for these people given the circumstances.” Said Jedi Stark

With that the girl walked back to her family ‘I wonder if I can do that again’ she thought to herself as she practiced moving her hands around like the Jedi did. She didn’t notice Trip Farr until she bumped in to him, “oh sorry!” she gave him a toothy grin, “I’m trying to be a Jedi!” she boasted and then she continued on her way.

A’sha watched the men unload and place the heaters, once they were all in place they were activated and she clung to her mother as the group made their way to the warmth, she was beginning to actually feel the tips of her lekku again. She heard a shout of alarm and looked in time to see Jedi Stark catching Nasdai Suema, a human lady with long brown hair and pretty blue eyes, the same shade of her skin. She had listened to her mother talk with her on the ship, she was from Corellia and was all alone and in fact celebrated her 24th birthday on the ship, no one had much to give her, but she was happy anyway.

“Thank you master Jedi” she said before shyly hurrying off and making her way over to the heater A’sha was at.

“You like him don’t you Nasdai!” she asked excitedly

    “A’sha.” Her mother scolded her.

“No its fine,” Nasdai intervened, she smiled at A’sha and leaned in close to her, “Do you promise not to tell?” A’sha nodded vigorously and Nasai continued smiling shyly, “well I think he is very handsome.”

A’sha just giggled happily and continued to warm herself.

Trip Farr, Night Voyager Crash Site
Trip settled down by the heater with Jonie Lessa, the ensign that help him in the comm center. He and she talked with the others around them making the best of a bad situation. "Looks like we will be stuck here for awhile," said one of the people in the group.

Trip answered, "Sadly yes. But at least we won't be bored."

The conversations went on from another hour. During that time he got know Jonie. Since he was on the Alpha shift and she on the Beta they rarely saw each other. It only so happened that she was covering for the ship's navigator and they were both on the bridge at the time of the crash because of the absence.

After the talking ended Trip watched the Jedi guarding the entrance to the hold as he was drifting asleep.

Bryce Stark, Night Voyager crash site

After the mishap with the shy looking woman who he had saved from going end first into the mud, Bryce made his way through the rain into the shelter of the wrecked ship. It had warmed up nicely since they had brought in the heating units and turned them on. Most of the people were in higher spirits then before, but the ones who had lost a close friend or family member were still solemn and quiet. Bryce contemplated searching for the woman he had helped so he could learn her name but thought better of it, it was just a mere moment, there’s no way of telling that she has feelings for me, worse yet she may even be scared of me he hoped that wasn’t the case.

People had many different views about Jedi. Some adored them, others loathed them and then there were those who were terrified of them, called them freaks or monsters just because they didn’t understand the force, but those were rare and mostly uneducated, But you never knew how a person would react to you as a Jedi. Bryce peeled off his soaked cloak and hung it on a screw sticking out of the metal wall so it would dry properly. He was now in his traditional brown and tan Jedi garb, simple clothing for a simple kind of warrior. But what made him different than most Jedi is that Bryce wore pieces of armor for extra protection. On his forearms he wore vambraces and on his left shoulder he wore a pauldron to protect his left arm, mainly from decapitation in most cases. All the pieces of armor were hung up to dry as well.

The steam rolled off his back and shoulders as he stood near a heater trying to dry himself and conversed with some of the people sitting around the heater, who obviously with the same idea as Bryce. Bryce made jests and polite conversation with the survivors, mainly just to take their mind off things. He was laughing at something funny an older woman had said to him when he looked up to see across the ship stood the brown haired woman talking to a little Twi’lek girl who was running and bouncing around gleefully like most children do. A look of excitement suddenly crept over the child face and she exclaimed something but Bryce couldn’t hear here, but her mother was quickly there to quiet her and scold her. Bryce smiled, but then the woman bent down and whispered something in the little girl’s ear. He could have used the force to listen in on the conversation but that would have been unethical and impolite, so he made due just watching the beautiful woman.

Once Bryce was dry enough he took his leave from the people around the heater with a goodbye and a smile. He quickly went to go find Solus who he had seen roaming around the bay of the ship which had now become their new home. It was cold outside and seemed to be getting colder, but maybe that was just that he was still damp. Bryce wondered if there they had a winter season on this planet, and any snow. It made him think back to the snow covered planet of Toola and the frigid tundra and the snow covered steppes. But that was all gone now, as well as his former family, he quickly put it out of his mind. He soon found Solus.

“Do you want me to take first watch or shall you do the honors?” he said with a slight grin.

OOC: No worries, Chewie. DRL comes first.

    IC: Solus Tova
    Night Voyager Crash Site, Sayrea

Solus meandered among the various passengers and crew of the ship, smiling, chatting, joking, making funny faces at children. Reassuring, calming, alleviating pain and fear where he could. From cluster to cluster, he moved among the people, taking a little warmth from this group's heater, then moving on. He didn't mind the cold, so much. He was from a warm, humid part of Manda'yaim, or Mandalore in Basic. The cold was a nice change, and it kept him alert, sharp. The wetness...well, he was used to that, so it didn't bother him.

In his travels he caught sight of Bryce catching a younger woman as she tripped, and the look that was exchanged between them was obvious, even to a Jedi who was supposed to be unconcerned with the emotional attachments of so called "normal people". It was hard for Solus to reconcile that phrase. Normal people, where he came from, were hard working, intelligent, fearless warriors, pilots, farmers, parents, children. They were just like everybody else, if maybe tougher than the rest. His Master had been quick to point out during his training that "normal people" were where all Force sensitive people came from. Except in rare cases, they weren't made, or bred. They happened, and some were lucky enough to become Jedi.

'You're a normal person, Solus. So am I. We just have talents that are a little more...flamboyant than others have.' his master used to say. 'You've always got to look out for normal people. You're also looking out for yourself.'

So he wasn't so big on the whole "Jedi Reserve" thing. Or the emotional distancing that happened, in his opinion, all too often with some Jedi. Solus was a Mandalorian, and they lived life hard. The good and the bad, they took in equal measure, and so would Solus. He'd rejoice for the good, and do his best to handle the bad.

If Bryce found himself with a connection to someone else, Solus would rejoice for him. It wasn't his place to tell another person how to live their life. Solus could do what was right for Solus, and that was that.

As these thoughts flowed through his mind, the other Jedi approached him, asking about the watch shifts.

"You know me, Bryce. I'm easy. I can stay up late, and snooze in the wee hours, if you wanna go ahead and get everybody bedded down for the night. Tell some bedtime stories, sing some lullabies. You know. Mingle." he said, standing with his back to the nearest warmer, letting his robes warm up. "Or if you wanna snuggle in once everybody's already toasty, it's all the same to me."

Bryce Stark, Night Voyager crash site

Bryce had received his answer from Solus. Where most people would shirk away from standing watch during the night when there was sleep to be had, Solus happily and selflessly insisted on taking the first watch. Above all else Bryce could tell that Solus was a good Jedi, hardworking, honorable and selfless, like any good Jedi should. But Bryce noticed something else about Solus, he was a warrior through and through, Bryce guessed that it mostly had to do with his Mandalorian upbringing, but there was more to him than that. Bruce read the Jedi’s dossier when he had learned that he was going to be partnered with Solus on this mission. He had quite an impressive record and had distinguished himself in countless battle, like most Jedi, but Bryce felt something else from Solus. He was a warrior with no more wars to fight, at least for the time being. Bryce stood next to the heater with Solus.

“Oh I’m afraid I don’t have the glibbest tongue ever, and I’m all out of bedtime stories, at least the happy ones, most of the ones they told on Toola didn’t exactly have happy endings. In fact none of them had happy endings, like the boy who cried Snow Demon, or Hansel and Gretel and the evil witch who lived in the ice tundra, all those lovely grim storybook tales. Mostly I think they told us those stories so we wouldn’t stray from home.” Bryce said with a laugh “But I will try my best.”

And with that he turned and left Solus to himself near the heater and headed off toward the people who were all starting to settle in for the night. Mothers’ and fathers’ gathered their children close and covered themselves with large blankets, while those who had no one else wrapped themselves in blankets and huddled close to the heaters. Bryce eventually saw the young Twi’lek girl he had seen running around happily earlier, she and her family were all nestled up under a large blanket that was recovered from the cargo bay. He approached them with a friendly smile and squatted down near the child so he was face level. Bryce had learned it was better to talk to a young child at face level, it made you look less intimidating.

“How are you doing little one, are you warm enough?” Bryce could see that the girl was happier than ever, it must be nice to be that young and have no worries about anything. He had seen the girl most of the evening running around and playing without a care in the world. It was then that Bryce swore to himself that he wouldn’t let any harm befall that little girl, as long as he drew breathe he wouldn’t let any harm come to any of these people.
