    I actually read the book!!!!
Not like I will be able to provide any insight or thought provoking discussions, but I did read the book.

I'm done patting myself on the back now. :)

    Stacky:

FYI, "Trinidad" is Adam's non-sensical nickname, much like "Axeman" before it, and "Admiral" before that. I am right now declaring that nickname to be null and void because I've grown tired of it. He will now be known as "Bombadier."

It looks like the weather down here is going to keep me away. Besides, I could only stay for about 90 minutes anyway with that pesky time difference. I'm counting the minutes until the time is back to normal.

I'll see some of you, I guess, at the GM. I've been practicing my TCG!

    Peace,

    Edric

    ...............

I was going to ask what you thought of Admiral Taskbar's (that's how it corrected it in MS Word :p) characterisation in Rogue Squadron :p

Four people, myself included, turned up. Cole actually read the book (!) and we had a discussion about the book for a while (!!!!)

Cole apparently doesn't like Ooryl, and NOBODY liked Corran.

Oh yeah, my girlfriend was also there :p

    Stacky,

Hi. I thought the Admiral's characterization was just a little too much "Starfleet". Remember, they had only a few years back been a Rebel force, and not a true government. Although Ackbar, along with Mon Mothma, represented the "mature" statesmen of the Rebellion and then New Republic, I thought that he at least, should have still had the old fire.

Anyway, that was my thought anyway. Off the subject of Admiral Ackbar, I think it did make a lot of sense that, even after the victory at the Battle of Endor, the war with the Empire was far from over.

Hope to see you at the next GM!

    Peace,

    Edric

Yes, it's that time again. Many thanks to Stackpole for taking my place last month while I visited my future graduate school. But now I'm back and ready to resume my tyranny over Book Club.

This month we will be reading the second book in the X-Wing series: Wedge's Gamble, in which Wedge visits the intergalactic casino world of Vega where he learns that not everything that happens on Vega stays on Vega. Wait a minute, that's the premise for a crappy show on SpikeTV...

Oh, right. This book has something to do with infiltrating Coruscant. Much better.

Anyway, to talk about Wedge's gambling addiction, the proper procedure for infiltrating a city-planet, or just about anything else, come to Borders next Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m.

Cool meeting. I'm looking forward to the next one. Oh, and something terrible happened tonight.....I bought Donald Trump's new book at Walmart! :) I wonder if this is how it feels to go to the Dark Side?

You bought Trump's new book, eh? Why? Is it because you will be going on "The Apprentice"?

^^Believe it or not, I downloaded the application and was going to ask some help of my fellow club members to make an audition video. Then, I had a horrible nightmare.....

It's decades in the future and I am The Donald's right hand man. He's firing lighting out of his fingers at some poor Star Trek Nerd. I then lift him up and throw him down Trump Tower. :)

Actually, that bit is a fabrication on my part. In all seriousness, his book is rather good - at least the parts about dealing with other's in the workplace.

    Peace,

    Edric

Good one...but the punishment for killing The Donald would be...well more well than you can imagine.

OH! O.k. alright. I get it, you bought the book to learn how to smite your cranky co-workers. Well, then, that?s o.k.

    Faith in Steve restored.

Hi, Yoda Jammies, hope all is well.
Yeah, I have not succumb to the Dark Side - I just thought the book may have some insights in the area of the workplace.

    Anyway, see ya,

    Peace,

    Edric

Ok, if everyone is through talking about Donald Trump, let's get back to Star Wars.

Next Tuesday we're discussing the best SW book I've read in the past year, Shatterpoint by Matthew Stover. I don't want to prejudice anyone who hasn't read the book yet, but...READ IT! IT'S GREAT! (Scott, this means you.)

Borders Cafe, Tuesday, May 25th at 6:30 p.m. we'll be briefly discussing this book. We'll also talk about why Star Trek sucks, half-baked Episode 3 title theories, and Steve's continuing obsession with Mandy Moore and Kate Beckinsale (scary, I know). This pretty much sums up our last meeting, by the way.

    See you next week.

    (1) My Mandy Moore phase is over. Let's focus the ridicule solely on my affections for THE KATE. :)

    (2) Yes, too bad Star Trek didn't get a lot of Rasberry Awards like Episode II. Oops, Rasberry awards are bad. And, of course, Star Trek's characters aren't nearly as well crafted like the Ewoks and Jar Jar.....oops, again. :) :) :) :) :)
(I loved Episode II, BTW, Rasberrys aside)

As always, Preacherman007, it is a pleasure to know you.

    Pals,

    Edric :)

PS - This is supposed to be a mildly sarcastic post - no offence was taken in the least. As we all know, my Sci-Fi interests are a tad more eclectic than most. Makes me such an interesting fellow... :)

    I could have sworn you would have signed that last post "Edric The Basher" 8-}

    It doesn't matter anyway. I'm dropping all of this SW stuff & focusing solely on "Troy." 8-}

^^ Yeah, Troy was a pretty good movie. Except for two things that would have prohibitted me from effectively living in that era:

    (1) The men in mini-skirts. I just don't look good in that type of attire.

    (2) The guys smooching each other. I enjoy Peter O'Tooole's acting and thought he was very good. However, if he had tried to kiss me - eeee gads.

Anyway, why would I sign Edric the Basher? I loved Episode II, I was just attempting to get a laugh by being sarcastic. Now, I feel bad (not really). Ohhhhh wo is me.

    See ya all later,

    Kiss Noise,

    Edric
