Not sure if you guys are into RTS (real-time simulation) games... I found this online game call KingsAge where you build up your settlement and attack other settlements. Very fun game and you don't need to log in often to play.

If you are interested in checking it out, join World 2, North West corner, and then look for me (xmaveric). I've got an alliance that I started today.

I went to kingsage dot com___right place?

did not sign up because when I researched forum members,
    I could not find Xmaveric,

so I thought I would double check to see if this is the right place.

Garbagge - I sent you an invite to the alliance, it should be in your mailbox (messages). Happy Birthday!

MT - Yes, that is the right place. I think forum accounts are separate from game accounts, which is why you didn't find me. Sign up on World 2, North West corner. Then just go to Messages > Write Message and type xmaveric in the TO box. I'll find you once you message me.

I would like to - and may do so, actually. But I have just started double top-secret project that will likely keep me occupied for a few weeks at least. More details coming.

ok, I have tried to register over and over, and just can not seem to do it.

guess I am too old to understand the internet.

    I put in user name
    I put in password
    I put in email address

I hit enter and get nothing,
I click register, and just get the screen back again.

i did the same thing. it's a bit confusing. i think you just have to select from the pull-down on the left to enter "world 2" now and it should take you right to your "settlement" screen. I just bookmarked my "settlement" screen so i don't confuse myself every time i go to the site.

    Thanks G59,

I eventually got to sign on after first clicking a very tiny picture
of the American Flag, in the upper right hand side of the screen at the
end of a row of flags.

    BUT

Have absolutely no idea what to do next.

Can not seem to find "game rules" on "how to play"

so, I am just waiting to be taken over at this time with no idea
    of what to do[face_laugh]

I sent you a message and a guild invitation.

    Here are some quick tips:
Click Castle. Click the "Build" link for Sawmill, Quarry, and Ore Mine. This will put them into a 'hopper' and complete each build one at a time. You can have up to 3 things building at once.

Then, upgrade your Sawmill, Quarry, and Ore Mine as much as you can. Keep your quarry at least 1 level above the other two, because Stone gets utilized more. Do this for the first few days until they are at least up to level 10.

here is the help you were looking for:

    Buildings: http://s2.kingsage.com/help.php?m=buildings
Tech Tree: http://s2.kingsage.com/help.php?m=techtree (This tells you prerequisites for buildings).
    Glossary : http://board.kingsage.com/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=166
BEGINNERS GUIDE: (What I used): http://board.kingsage.com/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=481

In the top bar you can always click "Help" if you don't understand how something works. You can also browse the forum for tips.

OK, I think I have progressed a little.

    I have joined the REAVERS.

and I can see that I am being surrounded by much better players than me[face_laugh]

I need help with this screen

    [image=http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a94/MusicTrooper/one%20time%20use/kings-age6-7-09.jpg]

    What is the building queue?

Where is the Building Queue, can I look at what I am doing, or
must I write it down and keep track of things myself.

How can I tell when a "building" is dcne being built.

How can I tell when I should upgrade to level 4, when is shows this
    as a suggestion and I just.....seconds ago......upgraded to level 3

This is very confusing to me.

The building queue is the top table in your graph. You can have 3 things queued at once. If you choose to queue more than 3 things, you'll incur a stiff penatly of 25% extra cost for the 4th item added, 55% for the 5th item added, 95% for the 6th item added.

The queue is processed in order, starting with the top item, when that item is done being built (you can watch the timer tick down) it will automatically start building the next item in the queue.

    X

I have finally made some good progress. If only I had known, I would have built up my area much much faster.

I now understand the ratio of goods earned to how they are used and also how to see when and why they are used.

and so, look for my area to grow, as I try to make up for lost time.

Have also learned how the game clock works and how to read the timing of stuff and now
some stuff is not revelaed to you until you amass other stuff.

NOTE: Game clock off by 1-hour on some of their servers. I learned this from endless post reading and
    experimentation.

so on my screens, when it says a time when something will become available, I know it is off by 1-hour
    and have been planning accordingly.

    NEXT new item,
I saw a flashing in the upper right hand tower of my display and noticed that I could see an attack on
someone, comming from somewhere with something like..........arriving in .......with a timer count down.

Also, will only post my strategy on these boards.

Currently, it is just to amass as much as possible and let you know how I am doing.

I finally have a hide out and am currently setting my quarry to be 3 levels ahead of all other areas,
as that seems to be an equalization point where all areas can grow at the max pace.

more later, but for now am having fun not sleeping and am staying up to try to catch up.

One important fact: You can't be attacked during your first 5 days of playing. So you don't need to spend any resources on the hideout or the town wall until then.

I joined 6-3-09 and today is 6-8-09..Me-thinks my 5 days are up

and I am thinking that the hide out is more important tnsn the warehouse at this time.

ref attacks, it seems that beong a part of the alliance allows me to see the comming of an attack
on anyone in our alliance. This would seem to make sense as it would allow for group defense.

Here is a screen capture of the Kings Age screen concerning attacks.

This same attack situation has been going on since last night betwee these same to guys.

NOTE: The upper part of the tower on the right. This flashes in some of my screens and
when I click it, it gives me this screen.

    [image=http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a94/MusicTrooper/one%20time%20use/ka-1.jpg]

of course, all thoughts on this screen are welcome:)

Yes, the flashing banner on the right is showing you attacks on other alliance members so that you can send them help.

Looking good, I see you have 800 points now! Rising very fast!

If only I had known how the interfaced worked I would have been there on day-2,
instead of trying to play catch-up.

am staying focused on growing as fast as possible.

My brotherinlaw showed me the game over Memorial Day break. So I had the advantage of being trained by someone who had been playing a while (he has 4 settlements now...) I had many of the same questions as you, but its kinda hard to explain without being able to show you.

Well, as X knows well, I am charging to the rescue as hard as I can in Kings Age,

and am guessing that by tomorrow, I may have my Castle up near Level-15,

So, I am also guessing that X, is already there........and so I ask of X,

what becomes available at this level, that would make tearing down
anything that took so long to build up.

or, what happens at Castle Level-15, that I can know now and plan for.

Actually, you don't get to tear down buildings until you get to Alchemist level 5. Not sure why they say it in the Castle description, perhaps that's the way it used to work.

BUT, you shouldn't worry about alchemist / residence / mint until your production levels are around 35 each.
