    Jenni-

Some of the similarities are striking, but I don't know if I agree with all of those you listed - especially the Gollum-Yoda one.

As Freud once said (or so I am told) - sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

    :)

I'm open to hanging out afterwards. Just let me know what time you're coming to pick me up, Catie, so I'm awake and presentable. I plan on sleeping late tomorrow.

Edit: Can anyone give me the address for the other board? I applied for membership a while back, but never got in, and I lost the address. [face_blush]

I been reading Two Towers and(no real spoilers for those who haven't read it)all I can say is that while there are accuraccies, there are also alot that's quite different. The book is so much more poetic!! Some of the changes made I wish hadn't been made and while I still think that PJ's version is amazing and very good, some things he should have kept truer to the book.

    Goldberry

Ever heard of Goldberry? I just found out.

Goldberry is in The Fellowship of the Ring... she, along with Tom Bombadil, were cut almost immediately from the film production because of their somewhat lack of direct relevence to the main storyline. Her character is a bit... mysterious... her dialogue with the hobbits in the book is full of cryptic responses that only vaguely hint at who (or what) she really is. Needless to say, the general movie-fairing audience probably wouldn't have understood Bombadil, and sure as hell wouldn't have understood Goldberry. (That's not a knock on the intelligence of movie crowds... it just that one has to have read some of Tolkien's work to understand his POV and mindset when he wrote those characters).

that onnion article is pretty much how a feel about Star Wars too. it seems episode 2 was there to show us a bunch of cool special effects. While two towers and fellowship dives right into the chracters psycology and emotions. not a bunch of crying and brooding. how many times have people seen the TTT so far i am up to three . but i think i could do ten or mabye seven
