I had an epiphany on the drive home from the workshop today.
Regarding my attempt to use the existing armor as a base form: I want to try it again but next time, not use the foam in the center. We should use a double layer of Worbla (glue side to glue side) , heated up then applied over the existing shape. It will take the shape of the form more easily. Maybe just use a strip of foam for the center section! Michelle and I ended up using this technique for the female chest part. The Worbla is more flexible and shape conforming when it does not have the foam in the middle.

Okay, so I have some more work done on my helmet. I decided to use "toothpaste" as my offset to give the battle damage look. I hope it works out and I hope I didn't put too much on. Put on the toothpaste and then gave it a white coat:

Then I decided to start with some simple "snow" camo. I was going to do it with spray paint when it dawned on me that I should put my airbrushing skills to the test:

This is just the first color of grey. I have a darker grey and then I will put on some black. Let me know what you think.....

Yeah, the idea is to take the toothpaste off and show the silver that is underneath to make it look like "battle damage". Here's a YouTube video of a Merc who did the same thing.

I've never personally done this, so it's a first time for this style of weathering. I'll let you all know how it turns out ;)

So apparently I can't post pics from my DROID onto the forums. Well this last workshop I worked on making a death watch style blaster! I posted a pic on my facebook if someone wants to snag it from there and post it here. It was a start and I learned a lot and got my hands on the vaccuformer. I have a better understanding of what to do and how to make a better plug. Next time we are there I hope to get some more progress on the blaster.

P.S. I have the bag of long white fur in my trunk. It'll work great for wampa pelts if anyone wants to use any of it let me know!

I started on my wampa skull pauldron last night. Still another horn to make today then to start building it up into a real looking skull! When its all done this skull will be mounted on my left shoulder for my armor.

Here is the link to the picture. http://instagram.com/p/fQVpPwIREU/

    What do you guys think?
I took as many screen caps as I could from ESB for references to work from. This is made from two different pepakura files I modified quite a bit to get to this point.

Mine too! got the pants and top. They seem like a real possibility --I will definitely want the "skirt" with the pants, thought. I'll bring them next time we have a workshop.

I am really hoping so. A lot of it depends on whether my mother in law is going to be here to babysit the kids so we can continue to work on the cabin. If she is here, I won't be able to come. If not, I'll be there for sure.
