Meeting Ideas

Although I suppose I'm not on a first-name basis with you guys yet, hehe.

Meh, I'm all for it. People call me by my real name anyway.

Oh yeah, that Anime Con has started in Sackville, right?

 

It went really, really well.

 

Coolness. Did you guys get a good crowd?

 

58 people, which was WAY more than we'd even dreamed of!

 

That's pretty sweet.

 

We were all really excited.

 

Are you guys planning another one next year?

 

Absolutely. We set aside a big chunk of the money we made this year to pay for next year's con. We also have a whole lot more vendors who will be able to come, and we're going to try to bring in some outside guests.

I'm bumping up this thread again because the fanforce is dying a slow and painful death. Can't you feel it moaning? Anyway, we must be able to get together for something.

 

I'm back in town and ready to make this Fanforce lives if it's life depends on it!

Hi there.
This is Kent from Fredericton. Don't have any meeting ideas for you, but I thought I'd drop a note to let you know I'm here. (Online that is, not in Moncton)
Next week I'll be talking to other FSFS (Fredericton Science Fiction Society) members about starting (or restarting) a Fredericton FanForce chapter. I'll let you know what happens, and then maybe we can work on some combined activities/projects. Any ideas?

The FSFS is having a monthly meeting next Thursday, and that's when I'll present what I know so far. I'd be more than happy to have someone with previous experience give me a hand or even take the floor. (Its really not that formal, but we do take turns talking)
The meeting's held in a room at UNB, and I can provide directions if necessary. All with an SF or fantasy interest are welcome.

Concerning Van Helsing, Wal Mart had me confused this morning. In the flyer it says Van Helsing,starring Hugh Jackman, on DVD on May 11.

Now, lets see the movie opens tomorrow and it releases on DVD on Tuesday now that doesn't make any sense.

So a girl at work figured it out. It's a animated prequel to the movie. And Hugh Jackman voices the characted.

 

That Wal-Mart is a tricksy one.

So...if anyone is around this weekend, do you guys want to go see Troy or maybe Van Helsing?
