No. I do not believe they ever "sell out." I've seen people, all years I've gone, buying tickets pretty much all day. The thing is so vast that no one is ever in one area/hall/dicussion room/etc.

Then again, someone will post, "Actually, they ARE sold out." I will then stand corrected, but from all my experience, and even from reading the site just now, they are not sold out.

However, it does appear you can no longer order online. That, I admit, is *very* odd.

I am going to be dressed as demonic Papa Smurf on a five day meth binge, hopped up on X and special K while both arms are covered in little red marks from shooting heroine. Though on blue skin if I remember my color wheel- red and blue is purple. I should look sweet- they had some girls from Troma when I was there just dressed in there bra and panties and wearing aprons- that was sooo sexy!

I emailed the contact for the convention, and she said that the cut off was yesterday at 12 to order online. SO, if anyone hasn't ordered yet, it's buy at the door, which really stinks. They better NOT sell out! Guess I have to get there early...

Palisades, the people making the current Muppets action figures, have announced a convention exclusive for this year. It's Kermit dressed as Indiana Jones and will be available first at a convention in Orlando: Megacon!

I am taking a break at home but want to say Megacon is awesome!! Lots of people dressed up in costume, including our great leader IA!! Awesome outfit! Stormtroopers EVERYWHERE!! 501st on the prowl.
I hear Dale was there but I guess I missed him, maybe on my return. Mark was spared our group dynamic and apparantly hasn't been to a con in many years but is doing better than me since this was my second time out and a very overwhelming experience it is.
Well, I guess I'll have more to report once I'm done and hope those of you who go will also share your experiences.

I was there today too. Great event. Picked up bootleg editions of ESB and Clone Wars Season 1.

Where does one get the stormtrooper costumes that they were wearing?

Not to mention Jango, Boba, Darth, and the Imperial Guard I saw...

 

Dale called me a little while ago. I won't go into detail here, but he had better post a message about his day. It is most impressive.

I'll be there tomorrow along with Stefanie. I hear on the grape vine, much like Marvin Gay, that Anthony is going to show up, too.

Everyone who tooks pictures, *please* post them or e-mail me good ones. There are countless sites to post free pictures, so take the little amount of time and do it. I will be taking a ton tomorrow.

Wow...it's been a long time...hey everyone. I was at megacon on sunday. It was OK, but i think FX was better. Too many gothic anime freaks, sorry. I competed in the DDR competition (sp?). I had lack of sleep and nurishment and got knocked out the 2nd round, but it was still fun! As for costumes. You dont just "get" them. For costumes like Jango, Boba, and Darth, you have to hunt down parts and make some stuff yourself. Stormtroopers are on ebay all the time, or i hear that some people from the 501st make them and sell a set for about a rand (OUCH!). If you are interested in one of the Fetts, check out www.thedentedhelmet.com and read their forums. They also have members that sell stuff all the time. Ok I'm done.

Hey I take offense to that!! I was one of the gothic anime freaks! Anyone else think last year was better? Everything was so expensive and there seemed to be less there then this year- I must admit the women were better looking! Some great costumes! Though I wish the Wonderwoman lady with the big assets was there this year. Oh well.

 

I thought that would make you a little happy Ia. Guess it was a good thing I went out to dinner and had a few drinks with them. I was there in my Biker Scout costume. Met up with the 501st, and Ill be the newest Florida member this week, just gotta submit my pics. I talked to and hung out with them all night long. Had a great time. Got the bite marks to prove it. Gotta love the Trooper Groupies! They also wrote in permanent marker on my chest "property of the Trooper Groupies". Still scrubbing it off. Not going to go in full detail on here, but I will tell my story in full at the next meeting. I got in at 3am this morning was going to go in my Jedi costume today, but was just too hung over to do it. I was a little upset at the lack of toys vendors. More comic and annime, oh yeah cant forget the Porno star that was in Penthouse. Thanks for the inside tip on that Brandon. Her body is just awesome, especially the fact that she doesnt have any clothes on.

Brandon, can you show me how to post some pics? Not too good with that kind of stuff so if you can lend me a hand that would be great.

What? Porno? Where?! Oh... I mean... uh, ahem. What are you talking about Dale? There was no Penthouse booth there! ...Or was there? Oh yeah, I got to take some pics with 501st dudes. I had no idea their suits costed around a grand! I thought it was like $600-$800. Not a THOUSAND! Oh well, it looks like they were having fun scaring little kids by telling them, "You wanna go to jail kid?" Gotta love those Troopers!

 

Yes, there was a Penthouse Pet there (also selling her DVDs, so I think she was beyond just a Penthouse Pet and into the entire "pornography industry.") Stefanie and I saw her towards the end of our day, and while I wanted her autograph (she really was exceedingly hot), I could not spend my last $15.00 on it. Dale called as we were heading out, so we went back in. We spoke to Amy and Micchone for awhile (Dale knows them well), and then we went back to where the Penthouse Pet was. She... was gone! The entire table had nothing on it. We were in shocked. We found she had moved only a few tables away, and there she was, selling full nude pictures. Dale, being the Dale he is, went right up, paid the money, and got one signed. We walked around for a few minutes with a full frontal nude picture viewable by everyone until we dug an empty bag out of my backpack and put it in there.

The day was great but not perfect. First, Saturdays *are* better, no doubt. More people, more costumes, more everything. Sunday is fun, no doubt, and you can get better deals on some stuff, but Saturdays should be the day you go if at all able. Stefanie and I got there around 10:00am. I won't go into detail about everything, but some highlights include:

-two Fantastic Four people. The guy appeared to be naked, his butt and, uh, "package" easily visible. Funny couple, we got pictures with them.

-this guy we saw last year we dubbed "Jabba du Hutt" was there again. Fat and alone and picking through comics while sitting down. This year, though, he had a chair and shoes. Picture turned out blurry (always do when you take them secretly) but it was just nice to see him back. If he is there next year, I can only guess what he will look like then.

-I finally managed to get the two Star Wars busts I have wanted: Greedo and Grand Moff Tarkin. I have Dale to thank for these. We did go everywhere in there, and I actually *did* look, but I missed them completely. Dale pointed them out, and I got them. Dale grabbed Tarkin, too.

-the lowest price the Clone Wars Cartoon Yoda was going for was $12.00. It should be noted that Stefanie is a cute female and, therefore, can get better prices on stuff. She played the "I'm a girl and don't have much money" routine and got the guy to sell us Yoda for $10.00. A $2.00 savings!

-bad memory: My picture with Brad Douriff is ***awful*** I have never photographed well, but this one is beyond terrible; everyone agrees. I hate hats, but I wear one earlier in the day, and I should have taken it off. It is not even on straight! My face looks worse than it normally does, and I have that, "Uh, wuts go'in on?!" look on my face. It really is bad. No joke.

-Stefanie fell in love with the guy dressed as Indiana Jones. She even got a picture with him.

I don't know how I feel about this year. It was, without a doubt, not the best year. However, I have to remember that I went on an "off day," so to speak. Still, it did not appear there were as many booths this year as in years past, and for the first time ever, there were no panels I wanted to attend. Also, the only Star Wars characters this year were Amy and Micchone. Amy appears to be a living skeleton and could be snapped like a twig, but she seems pretty cool, and Dale did inform us she ate a huge steak when he went out to eat with them. She just appears so unhealthy.

As good as last year? No. Worst year ever? Not even close. For those that have gone for eight, nine, or ten years, well, you know what BAD can be. =)

Oh, Anthony, we did see you today. You were dressed as a Jedi and appeared to be there with at least two friends, you being the tallest. Saw you twice.

As for the pictures: there are a number of ways you can go about this, Dale. I'm not up-to-date on the best free sites to post stuff, but the last one I used, years ago, was Angelfire (www.angelfire.com), and I think it is still around. Just set up a basic account, and you're good to go. Or, if you have a Yahoo! account, you can easily post pictures in your pic

 

Hey all, I didn't know anyone from this groups was going to be there today! I was one of the few Jedi walking around (tan garb with dark brown tabbards and Anakin boots). My buddy was Indiana Jones, so some of you may have seen him.

I must say though, this year wasn't nearly as good. I was very dissapointed in all the anime. I have no problem with it, mind you, but it just seemed like 95% of the place was anime. And the prices on everything were outrageous! I mean, come on, $17 for a plain green Ninja Turtle shirt? You have to be kidding me! I was just happy to be walking around in my Jedi garn though

 

Yes, unfortunately, I had some stuff to do tonite, and of course re-watched American Splendor, so I might only post one or two pictures this evening. Although, I did get the pics you sent, Brandon, of Dale, and they will be up as well.

As Brandon said, please send your pics. Last year I only posted those of Brandon and I, so the site was not as flavorful.

I must agree, this year was not as eventful as last. I supposed it was more spur of the moment last year, thus more exciting, yet the atmosphere was just NOT THERE. I had fun, though, I guess, since Brandon WAS there to lighten up the annoying pain in my legs.

Jabba was great. One of these years we will ask him, "Exactly, WHAT are you looking for?"

Indy was hot. OMG, his gorgeous eyes and stubble... Whoever you are, wherever you are, TAKE ME NOW!!! (I am a libra )

I saw a lot of weirdos and stuff...took some good pics. Brad Dourif went through a stage of depression as no one stood in line for autographs (although you wouldn't be able to tell from the $100 bills falling out from his wallet). AND yes, Brandon was right, Grima's tear IS one of sadness.

Dale's eventful penthouse autograph was amusing. I must say, she was hot. Hell, if I was a guy, I would've spent the $15.

OH, congrats Dale on getting into the 501st. I signed up a while ago (before they had the whole over-18 rule thing) and should still be in the database, although I am not active. For those who want to make their own costumes, I am sure you can talk to Dale, or go to 501st.com. They have great links and stuff.

PLEASE send me your stories on Megacon, as I will be adding them to this week's newsie, the Megacon special. It will be interesting...hehehe

Oh yeah... I got Amy Allen's autograph on an Aayla Secura action figure. She's hot.
I also got the Kiss Kiss Bang bang team to sign my comic. Meeting Tony Bedard was a highlight for me.

what I wanted and could have got but didn't... the chick that does Goku's voice was going to record my voicemail message for me, but I didn't get back to met her when I was supposed to.

Since everyone is talking about all the "HOT" people there, I'll add my own few thoughts.

First off, the convention was great, at least to me since I haven't been to one in about 20 years. I loved all the costumes, and would even consider putting one together for myself for next year.

The Penthouse girl you speak of is Aria Giovanni. She has movies out, her own website, and is featured on about a thousand others. I was lucky enough to have my picture taken with her! Eat your heart out! I'll try to post it!

But wait! There is another! In the booth next to her was a past "Gallery Girl Next Door of the Year" named Michelle. The neat part is I remember her from a few years back, mainly because she's from my old town Melbourne, Florida. Maybe you've heard of it? lol

But wait! There is another! Again! Stephanie Kay was there too. She's not as well known, but she's one of the "Juggy Girls" on E's "The Man Show" I've seen the show quite a few times, and remember her from the show. She lives in Tampa, and has been modeling for quite a few years. She was there promoting a card game featuring pics of her. Unfortunately I didn't get my photo with her.

SO, I don't know where you guys were, but it seems some of you may have missed out!

I talked to Virginia Hey for a few hours. Jeese she can talk your ear off! She was very sweet though. She contracted someone to develop a perfume for her, and now she's trying to promote it here in the states. She has been here for about a year now living in LA, and has finally gotten her "work card" for the states. Being the nice guy I am, I got her in touch with a friend of mine who works for an "investment" company. They'll market the product for a cut of the commisions. We'll see what happens. Maybe you'll see "forbidden" by Virginia Hey in the stores in the near future. I'll have to tell you guys where she came up with that name, IT IS HILARIOUS! I got my pic taken with her too, and boy was SHE snuggly! She got cheek to cheek for that one! WOW!

I wound up spending about 200 Saturday, and wanted to go back on Sunday, but funds wouldn't allow. Can't wait til next year! See you guys in a few weeks.

Oh yeah, I chatted with Virginia for a while on Sunday. She wasn't there too long though I was suprised how chatty she was! I didn't even tell her I was a Scaper or anything and we just talked about all kinds of stuff. She's looking to move to Florida if she can get the money. I felt really bad about not buying one of her pics, but I just didn't have that kind of money in my Jedi robes. And I got a few hugs from her
