Well i'm not usually a "player" I like to collect. :) I finally got a few Premium Aurra Sings in one reflection box ;)

The LOTR stuff is totally collecting and for fun. I have been a fan of LOTRT since I was in 5th Grade. The Cards are great, but it's confusing as hell. That's why I'm totally enjoying this sample game you guys are playing

I don't think it's that confusing, I'm picking it all up on the first run :p

*Whew!* Sorry I'm late, guys. I had to rush home from work today to help take care of my kids.

I don't see any new questions, so ...

I pass on maneuver phase, too.

Archery Phase... You get first action.

(To help speed things along, whatever else you do during Archery phase, I pass. So when you're done with Archery phase we'll go straight to Assignment and Skirmish phases. I won't have any Assignment phase actions either.)

I pass on both archery and assignment actions.

Question: How do you get it so that 2 companions can take on 1 minion? Only by a assignment action? Also, how do you do it visa versa.

How much strength do your minion(s) have?

I'll be coming back and forth here between now and about 3:00PM PST. Sorry if it's too sporadic.

    .....

I don't think there is a way yet to assign two companions to a single minion. But two (or more) minions may be assigned to the same companion in one of two ways: (1) if a companion is defender +1 the Free Peoples player may assign that companion to one extra minion; or (2) if every companion (or applicable ally) has been assigned a minion, and there are still unassigned minions left, the Shadow player may assign those minions to a companion/ally of his choice.

This is where it gets dangerous. You don't want to let the Shadow player get too many minions out there or he can assign his extra minions to your Ring Bearer (Frodo ... or Sam if Frodo has died) and overwhelm him - game over.

    ....

My Goblin Scavenger is currently strength 10 (8 + 2 for the Scimitar).

    ....

If you have no assignment phase actions, the last thing you do in the assignment phase is assign your companions to my minions -- in this case, who do you want to fight the Scavenger? Gandalf, Frodo, or Boromir?

Once you've assigned your companions to my minions, the Assignment phase is over and we move to Skirmish.

    Jerk :(

    I got nothing else.

So if that's it, I play Intimidate (2) that prevents Gandalf's wound :)

That's it. Now we're in the Regroup phase. I even up to eight cards. You decide:

    - Press on to site 3 (don't even up) or,
    - End your turn, even up to 8 cards

Probably not the best move. But you'll learn! :)

Okay, before you end your turn, I discard my Goblin Scavenger and Goblin Scimitar.

Now at the beginning of my turn, first we reset the twilight pool.

Now, because I'm at site 3, a Sanctuary, I can "heal" - remove - up to 5 wounds from my fellowship.

I remove 2 wounds from Gimli.
I remove 2 wounds from Pippin.
I remove 1 wound from Aragorn.

Hmmm... no more wounds ... :D
(But Frodo still has two burdens.)

    Now my Fellowship phase starts.

I play Albert Dreary, Entertainer From Bree (1).

No more Fellowship actions, so I move to site 4. Put your site 4 on the table.

Yeah, see how much you're learning? ;)

Okay, there's 1 token in the twilight pool already.
I move my marker to Mithril Mine.
The site's twilight number is 3, so I add 3 more.
I have 5 companions (Frodo, Gandalf, Pippin, Gimli, Aragorn) so I add 5 more.

    Total 9.

    Your Shadow Phase.

I gotta go, I don't know if I'll be back tonight or not. See ya soon!

If it would help speed things up, I have no Maneuver, Archery or Assignment actions. You can go straight from your Shadow phase to the Assignment phase.

I'm going to use They are coming's GT and bring back a Archer. I'm discarding a Bounder, Defiance, and They are coming (from hand.) Thats 3 so I have 6 left, I play a Goblin Sneak, and using his GT on the other archer. So I have 5 left and no actions.

    Let the assignments begin!

    I'm back!

Back in the Archery phase, your archery total was 1, mine 0. I put one wound on Gimli.

    Assignment phase:

I assign Gandalf to the Marksman.
I assign Aragorn to the Sneak.

    Skirmish phase:

    Gandalf: I pass.

    What's Gandalfs strength?
    What's Aragorns strength?

(Include Gandalfs GT, and Aragorns (if it applies))

Gandalf's game text says he is strength +1 for each race (Dwarf, Elf, Hobbit and Man) I can spot in my fellowship. I have a Dwarf, a Man, and of course a Hobbit, so Gandalf is strength +3, making him 9 (he starts at 6).

Aragorn's game text says he is a Ranger and at the start of my turn he can "heal" (remove a wound from) one character who has the Aragorn signet -- like Gimli. Aragorn is strength 8.

(This is the premium Aragorn you get out of the Aragorn starter deck, by the way.)
