I figured I would start a thread here because I realize that it is unfair to continue to ask the same few people for help (you all know who you are ;) and I appreciate everything with which you have helped me. Thanks!)

So I made a thread for whenever, I, or any future utlandet vikinger come in.

Nettopp betyr "just" i engelsk men hvilken versjon av "just"?

F.eks i Engelsk, jeg kan skriv "Anakin was just in his killing of the Tusken raiders" eller "GL showed Anakin killing just 3 of the many Tusken Raiders. Også jeg kan sier "I just got done watching AOTC for the 3rd time!"

    --Joey

Revisjon: Eksampel to var ikke klar. Jeg forandre :)

"Anakin was just in his killing of the Tusken raiders"

"GL showed Anakin killing just 3 of the many Tusken Raiders.
=GL viste bare at Anakin drepte 'kun/bare' 3 av de mange TR.

"I just got done watching AOTC for the 3rd time!"

    ...something like that anyway.

Hvordan skrive "Thread"? F.eks "This thread is called 'Questions about Norwegian and Norway'"

    Kanskje, "stråden"?

It has been a long time coming ;)

This is helpful for other people who might stumble in to ask questions about upcoming travel like yours truly will in the upcoming months.

Once I figure out an itenary I will list it here. If you all live in the area and want to have a coke and discuss Episode III or something let me know :D

I will definitely try! Let me know if you have a Swedish Fan Force meeting (where do you all meet Anne? If I go to Sweden, I think I am going to Malmö, Göthenborg, Stockholm) and I will try to drop by and say "hey".

I should try to pick up a little swedish as well.

Hvordan er vandererhjemer i Norge?

How are the youth hostels in Norway? When you see some of them describe that Breakfast included. What is it like?

Only bread and ham or eggs or what?

I have no clue what our next FF meeting will be, after this weekend. But if you drop by in any of those cities you just have to tell and you can get to meet some of us.

    Noen bor i Svalbard? ;)

By and byen is the same word, but they are conjugated in different ways.

Bygd is translated with rural district, I think that the word village is used about a settlement that is smaller than a "bygd"

Sorry Joey, I misunderstood your question. I don't think that any from FF Norway lives on Svalbard

Thanks MHirth. I did not know how to say "misunderstood". My dictionary is not the best.

I mostly asked it jokingly anyway because only about 100.00 people live there right?

    Misunderstand = misforstå

I think about 1000 people live at Svalbard. In addition to the Norwegians there is a Russian mining colony

Are there rules concerning knives in Norway? Apparently in Sweden the length of the blade of the knife can only be 7cm.

I saw 15cm+ blades on knives at the Viking ship Museum (or perhaps the Fram?)

I don't want to be walking around, get stopped, and have them arrest me for having a knife 2cm too big.

I am betting Norway has looser rules since hunting and outdoor life styles are popular.

There are 1430 Norwegians and about as many Russians with an extra 9 poles.
