Here: Please be informed that tickets for Roger Waters will not go on sale Friday, Oct 27, 2006! Stay tuned for more information!

I'd prefer Gilmour, but this will be good - pity he can't sing anymore , but the music will be great and the backup singers cover for Waters shortcomings...

Aww crap. That's Auckland Anniversary day - I'm supposed to be driving back all leisurly-like from Napier (Eric Clapton concert on Sat 27th) on that day.

May be able to make it, will likely need some juggling and babysitter bribing to get there though...

Waters voice isn't to bad, I like the huskiness he has now, as long as he doesn't lipsynch like that one incident!

Gilmour would have been better but you cant always get what ya want :p

    From here;

PINK FLOYD'S ROGER WATERS LIVE IN NEW ZEALAND.

At last we can announce Radio Hauraki is bringing the genius behind Pink Floyd, Roger Waters, to New Zealand to play one show only at North Harbour Stadium on Monday January 29th (Auckland Anniversary Day). This really is as close to Pink Floyd as you're ever going to get. Backed by a 10 piece band, with state of the art effects and lighting, Waters will play all your Floyd favourites and then in the second half he performs the entire Dark Side of The Moon. Be excited, be very excited. Tickets on sale next Friday (Nov 3) from Ticketmaster.

Well, that's Pink Floyd without Waters, this is Waters without Pink Floyd.

I doubt you'll get flying aeroplanes crashing into the stage etc like on PULSE, but it will still be a spectacular show.

Obviously they don't have legal issues like John Fogerty and CCR.

There were plenty of legal battles between Waters and the rest of the band, especially over the use of the name "Pink Floyd". But no, CCR was one of the worst for that kind of stuff. Fogerty wasn't prevented from singing his songs, he kind chose not to to stop others getting royalty cheques and because he was over the songs for a long time, obvioulsy he's rediscovereed the joy of performing them in recent times. Fogerty's ex-manager who owned the CCR song rights went so far as to sue Fogerty for 'self-plagiarism' after he believed Fogerty's solo hit Old Man Lives Down the Road was ripping off of CCR's Run Thrugh The Jungle (which Fogerty also wrote). And yes, eventually that was thrown out of court.

Anyways, Waters and the rest of Pink Floyd did put the past behind them for their Live8 reunion, which was pleasing to see.

I probably would have peeked eventually, but any chance of masking the set list? It's a bit of a spoiler for those who like to be surprised.

You can mask it by usng the markup text to be hidden [/hl ] [/color ]

    Like so

    What, is it sold out?

Edit: Looks like only $300 & $400 tickets are left. LOL.

Ahh well, if I can't wangle comps, and I feel up to it after Clapton, I guess I'll sit outside & listen. Which I can't really see happening.

Honestly, I doubt I'd pay $300+ for a freakin' Beatles reunion.

I heard today from some silly woman who called up "The Rock" as I was flicking through radio station, that Eric Clapton might open for Roger Waters. Seems a lot of Water's band are playing with Eric and Eric may return the favour.

If I'm wrong, blame crap radio stations and their listeners like The Rock. If I'm right - wow!

While they are good friends, have recorded and toured together iin the past, and have used a lot of the same bandmembers in recent years, the fact that Eric is playing in Sydney the same night Roger's playing in Auckland would make the chance of the rumour being true, well zero.
