Should NYC get the 2012 Olympics?

one thing is for certain, i'll be 70 when the olympics return to L.A.

 

The biggest reason to have it in NY?

No shortage of starter pistols

I know it'll be 16 years since 96 when it comes along but it does seem rather selfish to be talking about it while you're in the middle of hosting the winter olymipics. Granted they're seperate, but I know I'd be pissed if the shoe was on the other foot.

 

I know what you mean tenorjedi, but the USOC picks its US city soon, so thus the need for this thread.

Please, like no other city has ever bribed an IOC offical(s) to get an Olympics. Wasn't there proof that Sydney officials bribed the IOC, too. Its a big as part of the games as the medals.

 

You just needed a better Olympic mascot to attract the attention.

Next time get that hot coco vixen to start a "Ski Naked" Club, and watch the IOC roll into town.

 

Obi Anne: yeah Houston can get pretty darn hot. But I would think they'd host it earlier in the year than summer.



When someone came down here to inspect Houston recently for candicacy for the 2012 olympics most of the news/important people seemed pretty confident that Houston stood a better chance than the other candidates for getting it. Based on available sports/food/hotels etc. here's hoping!

I think it would be a great idea, but I can't get past the idea that it wouldn't be out of pitty and (no offence to the people who were effected by 9/11) if I have to sit through another Olympic 9/11 memorial I think I might throw up. I just think at Salt Lake it was done in bad taste.
