If you manage all those things, Nave, you'll be doing darn well! Vietnam Memorial is right next to Lincoln Memorial, BTW, so take an extra 10 minutes to look at the Wall. Very moving.

Holocaust Museum is also open/free, and at THIS time of year, it is easy to get into, since the school trips haven't really started & the families aren't on vacation.

I love LOC, too... reminds me of the Palace of Naboo...

Don't forget the Korean War Memorial on the other side of the Lincoln. A very good one as well, especially the artwork on their wall.

The Holocaust memorial I don't recommend unless you have a whole day to see it.

Yeah, its pretty depressing. :( Actually though a hundred years prior we had Americans doing the same thing just on a smaller scale. For example when Andrew Jackson gave the smallpox contaminated blankets to the Native Americans.

And also, Roger, ANDREW Jackson instituted the 'long walk' that relocated the Cherokee nation from Florida to Oklahoma.

I'm with you, Eugenia. I'd like to do the signing, but I know it's a small place and it's going to be a zoo and I'm not sure it's worth the trouble. I may just skip the signing and head straight to dinner.

I know Roger reserved the room for 6pm, so I'd say 6pm. I think Jeff is planning on getting there then.

It would be the best to try to get there around 5:30-5:45 just to have plenty of time to meet up with others. I'll be leading everyone in at 6:00 on the nose (providing that all of those at the singing aren't still stuck in an infinitely long line). I'm hoping that everyone shows up on time rather than some straggling in late and others leaving early and people missing each other entirely.

Right. I'll try to get to the restaurant early - is it under your name, or do you want to give them mine as well? I doubt I'll do the signing - let someone who actually likes the EU go in my place. So, we're definitely doing dinner? Or is it just a private room for hanging out? I should really go there sometime... (I'm the most clueless Event Coordinator today, forgive me)

Well if people show up late, they should know the name of our reservation so they can go to the restaurant and get in. Or we could tell the restaurant people that if anyone asks for SlackerCon (hehehe) so show them to our room.

We'll probably only do the 2 memorials and the washington monument (unless my two companions want to do the other memorials) and one museum. Guess who has to be in at work 2 hours early on Monday :(

    Boo on them.

Least it'll be 2-4.5 hrs of overtime :)

    2 more days!! :D

Mr. Sharp - I plan on going to Summers, but I will not be staying the whole time. I will be heading over after the signing and I know where Summers is so you do not need to lead me. Unless you are getting a long rope and we all have to hold on to it walking from the signing to the restaurant.
