Sa imi spui si mie te rog cum ti s-a parut "The Other Sons Of Tatooine".
In other news: in sfarsit they revealed the cover for Dawn Of the Jedi - Into The Void.

Cat despre Dawn of the Jedi e un review aici. Personal mi-a placut for what it showed us about the early Jedai. They were all about the balance, exiling those who went to far into either the Light or the Dark Side. They were sent to one of Tython's moons (Ashla for the Light and Bogan for the Dark) where they would meditate until they found balance. I also liked Xesh's Forcesaber (you need the Dark Side to activate the blade) and that one of the guys on Bogan had a vision of impending doom and destruction (standard fare really) and even then the Jedi were blind nitwits who told him to admit he was wrong and then sent him to Bogan until he admitted it. Oh and they were called Je'daii back then .... isn't that how the Vong kept calling them?

So on the The Other Sons of Tatooine. Omnibusul colectioneaza povestile a trei personaje de pe Tatooine, namely: Biggs Darklighter (no intro needed I think), BoShek (a smuggler ... he was guy at the cantina who pointed Kenobi to Chewbacca) and Janek "Tank" Sunber (a friend of Luke and Biggs, first mentioned in the novelization of A New Hope).

    The Omnibus contains 6 stories:

    - X-Wing: Rogue Squadron 1/2 is slightly on the redundant side as the mission it shows get's told to us via flashback in Darklighter. Other than that, it's decent little short story but nothing special.

    - Darklighter tells the story of how Biggs joined the rebellion, his first few missions and tragic end during the Death Star assault. The story is decent, even if there is too much narration for my taste and not enough dialogue (especially toward the end). The art for this story is done by Doug Wheatley (who also did Dark Times) so visually it's very good. My favorite part of the story was actually when Biggs and co. decide to rebel against the Empire. Oh and we also see Derek "Hobbie" Klivian and how he loses an arm and a leg (a bit of a running gag in the EU).

    - The Bravery of Being Out of Range tells us the story of BoShek. The story is a single issue so it's not very long and deals with BoShek helping a hot chick escape a squad of rebel fanatics. The ending is no big surprise really but I still liked it. The one interesting bit we get out of this story is that the rebels we see are part of General Bel Iblis' bunch. I wish more was done with that character in this time period.

    - To the Last Man. This is were the Omnibus really kicks off for me. This is the first of the three stories featuring Janek Sunber. Like his friends, Biggs and Luke, Sunber wanted to join the Academy and become a pilot. Sadly his scores weren't good enough and rather than return home in humiliation he decided to join the infantry (Johnny Rico much?). At we join him, he's already a Lieutenant and a pretty good officer, much to the annoyance of his two immediate superiors who are a self serving arrogant coward and a self serving arrogant moron respectively. Their mission is to check up on a mining colony on Maridun (TCW used this planet .........badly) but when they get there they find that everyone is dead and that the spear wielding/blaster stealing natives outnumber them by a ridiculous margin and besiege them. If this sounds a bit like Zulu, it's because that's exactly what it is - a poster on the Dark Horse forums suggested they do a Zulu story and they did. I found the story enjoyable and I definetly liked the Imperial perspective. Sunber is a man who's married to Duty and that will affect his future stories.

    - The Wrong Side of the War continues where In the Shadow of Their Fathers (from At War With the Empire vol. 2 Omnibus) left off. Jabiim got slagged by the Empire, Jorin Sol (who developed the random jump algorithm that the Alliance fleet uses) has been captured and the last rebels on the planet are being rounded up and shipped offworld. Sunber is forced to see that the Empire enslaves people (his grandad was a slave) and finds the behavior of one of his fellow officers morally repugnant (raping slaves). Into this situation enters the ISB and Luke Skywalker with a commando team (minor characters Basso, Abel and Deena Shan are also back - again from At War With the Empire Omnibus vol 1+2). Luke is there to rescue Jorin Sol before the Empire extracts vital info from him but then he stumbles across the captives from Jabiim so of course the plan get's complicated. He also runs in Sunber (who has no idea that Luke and Biggs ended up rebels). It's a fun story with multiple plots going on and both Luke and Deena find they have someone they care about on the other side of the war.

    - My Brother,My Enemy is the last story in the Omnibus and the last one for Janek Sunber. In the previous story Sunber found out that Luke was a rebel and now he hears just who blew up the Death Star. And Duty demands that the reveals what he knows about Skywalker. Meanwhile on the rebel fleet (well, one of them anyway) Luke is thinking about Sunber and how they're on opposite sides of the war, while poor Jorin Sol recovers from the torture he received at the hands of the ISB. The story is a nice conclusion of several plots that begun with In the Shadow of Their Fathers and sets up two more (who appear in At War With the Empire vol. 2 Omnibus) and like the previous story I really like the interactions between Luke and Sunber. Fleet junkies will also like story as we see the rebels hit an Imperial supply convoy (they are in need of food, ammo, spare parts etc.) and the rebel fleet we see also has two Providence-class destroyers from the Clone Wars.

Darth_Garak Acum ca am prins gustul comix-urilor, ma gandeam sa incep sa cumpar seria KOTOR. Ceva pareri in legatura cu ea? Presupun ca ai citit-o... :D

Ah KOTOR, one of the best series Dark Horse has produced over the years. It was fun and light hearted, with plenty of great characters and nice plot twists. The only downside is that they changed artists a lot so it can be a bit weird on that front - the art ranges from very good to acceptable with two exceptions (which are sadly horrible looking). Also there is no KOTOR vol. 5 (I think it's 5) because that's Vector vol. 1. Fans of the game will also get to see a few known faces.

    Finalul este beton.

In rest? Cine, ce mai citeste? Eu ma lupt cu "The Last Jedi" pe care nu reusesc sa il dovedesc din lipsa de timp. Trist, dar adevarat... In schimb I have lots of fun cu comics-urile. Seria KOTOR pare intr-adevar amuzanta si relaxanta... Sunt pe numarul 11 din 50. :D

Si eu sunt curios. It might also a tie in to Star Wars: Legacy (the comics not the books) because I heard Tusken Raiders are rampaging or something and Obi-Wan confronting their leader was a nice flashback scene in Legacy.

@AK, these look awesome! Much SW material, 2015 will bring.

    http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_The_Clone_Wars_(novels)

"Kenobi" e foarte bine scrisa, in special fragmentele de meditatie:

    Multumesc.
