It is a chance for a whole new generation to experience Star Wars for the first time on the big screen and for the rest of us to see it again the way it was meant to be seen... though this time remastered and with a few surprises and a new level of dimension.

Who is interested in having a meet to see this film together?

    Time: *Unconfirmed*
    Venue: *Unconfirmed*

Come on Guys, time to come out of the woodwork! Granted, this is so not the best of the movies, but its Star Wars, and it's in a theatre and it's in 3D!!! The SA Fan Force are going on Sunday in FULL COSTUME!!! Show us what you guys can do!!!

I would rather watch the Twilight Saga back to back while being bitten by angry ants than watch The Phantom Menace at the cinema again.

Adalia, that sounds awesome. I hope there be photos!

Shadowfire, that sounds painful. The first three books were not too bad but the fourth was completely whacked out and the films are awful, I don't get why people believed the wolf effects were 'awesome' when they are embarrasing and subpar compared to the wolves in the Chronicles of Narnia films from a few years previous.

It would be great if we can make it an annual thing for Attack of the Clones next year and the others after that. I do wonder if there will any further changes to the films to connect the Saga more together or whether it will remain to be the ones we know from the Blu-Ray.

    There will be photos!

I was pregnant with my son Luke when TPM came out, I remember it well, still got the TPM T Shirt I work stretched over my belly! But he's excited about seeing it now he's 12!! Only because he never saw it on the big screen, and this will be a treat for him. Granted, its not the best of the movies, and the fire ants are tempting, but I will sit through it for the fun of it!

I was 11 back in 1999 and back then it was the most awesome Star Wars movie ever. My opinion has since changed a bit. Can I be willing to make the effort to get down to Sydney to see this? I will need to think about it...

There is a lot of memories leading up to the release of TPM, I was in the early years of high school at the time. I had to have stitches on my foot at the night when they were promoting that Angela Bishop special with GL... "Empire of Dreams" or something. There was school dance a week before release and looking back now... those things can be cringeworthy... and I was playing the Ep 1 Racer game on the N64 on the day I got to see the film.

I loved it and it was more Star Wars and that is what we needed. It was my first Star Wars on the big screen, I missed out on the Special Edition release of the Classic Trilogy because of being ill at the time. Qui Gon and Obi-Wan was awesome, I didn't mind Jar Jar and I still don't mind him now and I understand what the character was suppose to be and it is unfortunate he wasn't really given a straight person to rapport off. I think the hype at the time that the media itself created had gotten out of hand and was what lead to extreme expectations of the film. I think that is why some people are bitter about it and because it was not what they were expecting... and also that it was aimed for a different generation and among a few other things. The film still holds up well.

Due to my shifts, I am unable to see it on the first week of release. I will be trying to see it on the 15th.

If I have to sit through this film, i'd rather it was with some star wars fans, this was the only movie I didn't see at midnight screenings :(

I actually found my mp epIII midnight ticket at fox for la prem yesterday, seemed timely :)

That does Tek and seeing it with fans was worth it, we all waves our Lightsabers around at the start...although the theatre messed up and the sound was like watching TV at home....the scrolling text and all was supposed to have music that blew us back into our seats! Instead we were all looking at each other saying "whats wrong with the sound???" Sadly, due to a bad nights sleep the night before, (sure this is a crime in some countries) I fell asleep for some of it! OMG! How embarassing!! My 12 year old son was nudging me awake!!! LOL!!

The 501st and RL were there too, but apparently LFL gave strict instructions for us to stay away from them, so sadly no photos.

That's a bugger that the cinema had mucked up the sound, I hope it didn't distract too much from the experience. It does look like you've had an awesome time though and the costumes look amazing. I wonder why LFL didn't want anyone to mingle with the RL and the 501st?

I still got my ROTS ticket from the midnight screening at Fox, that was a fun time. When does everyone like to see the film? My plans for the 15th has shifted, I could do the 10am session but that would be hard for those that be travelling from a greater distance. Should we arrange for later in the month as that everyone has a chance to come?

I've been hearing a lot of positive feedback regarding TPM 3D, it sounds like it is worth seeing this version on the big screen.

I wouldn't mind seeing it again just to see how the 3D looks on screen. Only problem for me is that I can really only commit to weekends currently.

I was at the cinema again today (picking my son up) and I saw the showing come out and watched with some amusement as the kids posed in front of the Huge Darth Maul poster/display thing. Boys posing like they were holding sabers or force pushing people, while mums took photos. I mentioned it to my sons friends mum that my son was practically born with a saber in his hand and she smiled and said "Yeah, you did have a difficult birth with your son, he wasn't leeting go of his lightsaber for anyone!?" Ok, shes a long time old friend, so she knows me, but it did amuse me, the thought of how some kids are just discovering Star Wars when my son was born into it....and even his Archery coach calls him Luke Skywalker. ;)
