First, I think if these execs at Disney are smart, and they seem to be, they won't "fix what ain't broken." There is nothing that needs fixing at Lucasfilm or the Lucas subsidiaries. I think this move was made, by George approaching Disney (although I may be wrong) in that he knew he still had many stories to tell, but not enough time and energy to do them. Originally he was going to let it die with him but he had second thoughts.

Second, they haven't messed with Marvel or Pixar. Those businesses operate, and successfully I might add, just as they did prior to Dinsey. In the case of Star Wars they just want to produce the movies that Lucas cannot (by his age and energy level.) If they were to meddle too much I'm sure they'd see the disaster.

Lastly, they seem to be approaching this in a very encouraging way. Kathleen Kennedy will be overssing Lucasfilm, and I'm sure Dinsey will have its say, but KK will make sure everything is handled well to first protect Star Wars. Michael Arndt isn't a flashy name but has the talent to deliver STORY. Very encouraging sign. The next shoe to fall, and soon I think will be the director. I'm guessing Vaughn or Bird.

Oh, I am not doubting their creative approach, but I could see Lucas' "influence" remaining within his former company. Once 2015 is here, we'll see what occurs in the merchandize department.

The last thing we'll see is Star Wars Episode VII: Rise of the Toys. :p

Lucas blizted the hell out of us. I don't know that Disnsey could be any worse. They blitz too!

There's one thing that I like about Disney -- they do hire good people for the job. I would like to see a Brad Bird-Michael Arndt SW production.

Brad Bird did The Incredibles, right? I liked that movie. I even went to the theaters to see it and I don't go to the movies much at all.

If there's one common link to Arndt and Bird it's FAMILY relationships. It couldn't be more right for the Skywalker saga.

The title has to pass the "Star Wars test", which is if you add an exclamation point, does it still work.

    The Phantom Menace!
    Attack of the Clones!
    Revenge of the Sith!
    A New Hope!
    The Empire Strikes Back!
    Return of the Jedi!

Titles like The New Republic are way too "static". The titles has to have to have a sense of action and be somewhat cheesy, like Mask of Darkness or Shadows of the Galaxy or The Planet of Doom!

He also recently directed the live action film Mission Impossible IV. I was greatly impressed, so he should be a candidate imo.

For the title, I think they might show repetition in the title for Episode VII. The something or A

I just saw that movie a couple months ago and liked it. It had some good action sequences like the one where Cruise was climbing the building. Yeah, not bad. IF he gets the nod I'm very encouraged.

For Titles I agree with the Foot: The Knights of the New republic or Rise of the Republic. Balance of the Force should be the last title IMO.

I want to move on from the Chosen One or prophecies for that matter, so I agree with keeping "Balance of the Force" away. :p

I think they need to stay away from 'of the' titles for the time being. A three word title would be most appropriate given the pattern established in the previous two trilogies.

Given that we have no details of the story other than circumstantial evidence that the main cast of the OT will be involved, it's tricky. But then on the other hand the title will likely be broad and vague.

Star Wars Episode 7: A New Threat - bit bland
Star Wars Episode 7: Dark Force Rising - already used in the EU, but not bad.

Already been used by another franchise but

    Episode 7: Army of Darkness

    would be fun.

Joking aside, I think we could potentially see the terms Dark Side, the Force, Destiny and Knights used in some way - all fairly evocative of SW. I doubt we'll see terms like Vergence - maybe too obscure? Who knows at this point.

Star Wars: Episode VII; The New Knights...?

Focuses the film on the NJO. Nice, simple title, only three words, but evocative of the SW universe.

Star Wars Ep 7: The Fallen Hero. Fits with the ambiguous style of TPM, could be that the jedi have been ostracised, or that a new young jedi is dabbling in the dark side. Or Lando is the new Chancellor and turns out to be a complete SOB
