Ic Princess Leia and Mon Mothma

    Location Telo's

Mon couldn't help but smile, Galen was an extremely useful agent but the going down on one knee was a bit much for her liking. The Alliance didn't operate under such old fashioned formalities and Mon had noticed the sidewards glance from Leia.

?That?s quite all right Galen? Leia said and wish a small wave of her hand motioned for Galen to rise.

Mon then gave a the young Rebel spy a warm smile ?Galen, you have performed your duties magnificently, now I am sure you are eager to head to your chambers and wash up and get some well deserved rest? Mon then looked back to Leia and smiled ?You are dismissed?

Leia and Mon then turned to face the Wolatarin ambassadors ? General Parvil and Doctor Lovespirals allow me to be the first to welcome you to Telos, I am sure there is much you wish to learn about us and our goals before your people commit to our cause but before that allow me and Princess Leia to give you a guided tour of our home?

Leia thought it strange that Mon called the base as home, for her home had always been Alderaan but that had been taken away from her, since that day Leia had never thought of any place as home. Just thinking this showed just how fast the years had flown past, now the closest thing she could call home was the Falcon! The sooner her home came back the better, just thinking about Han brought a small wistful smile to her face. Yes she missed him but she had to push thoughts of her love to the back of her mind, it was time to focus on the good of the Alliance and good of the galaxy.

With that Mon began ushering the small group towards the main base, so she could begin the tour in earnest.

    Dr. Mira Lovespirals, WUNF Civilian

    Landing Pad Four
    Rebel Base, Planet Telos IV

Mothma dismissed their pilot kindly, but with a hint of patronization Odious noted. He began mentally flipping back between the sensitive reports of these two infamous rebel leaders and what he was observing. Most of the reporting came from analysis of HoloNet reports and the limited profile reports given to them from Imperial sources; both official and clandestine.

Princess Leia seemed more regal than the reports of her brash and rude behavior in the Imperial papers suggested she would be. The General had only just met her, but her first impression was positive. He was finding it hard to believe reports of her leading military forces; or participating in special operations deep into Imperial territory. Senator Mothma was fitting the description, though. An elderly stateswoman, dignified yet helplessly clinging to the past; or so said the reports. It did describe her as often hiding her true intentions and skilled at manipulation. General Parvil looked her over and tried to read behind her expression as she addressed them.

?General Parvil and Doctor Lovespirals,? she began. ?Allow me to be the first to welcome you to Telos, I am sure there is much you wish to learn about us and our goals before your people commit to our cause but, before that; allow me and Princess Leia to give you a guided tour of our home.?

?She referred to herself before the Princess. Quick afterthought, or intentional?? Parvil thought to himself. ?And ?home?? Is she trying to seem humble, display a quirk to charm??

?That would be excellent; thank you.? Mira said, taking Parvil from his thoughts before he became lost in them.

?We are glad to be here.? Parvil said, nodding his head to the side. It was a formal Wolatarian custom. The group began to move across the platform. ?And allow me to congratulate your resistance for its latest victories. That?s one of the reasons why we are here.. But, we?ll get into specifics later. Please, we?d love to see the place.? He said, adding perhaps a bit too much of his own ?charm? in addressing the senator as if they were being welcomed into a residency. He glanced around the base. The area they were in now was mostly landing platforms, as well as a couple ?fuel farms?, areas of fuel storage tanks and equipment. No sense of urgency in the personnel. A collection of antennas and domes on a nearby hilltop did interest him, as is resembled either a listening and collections post, or a communication center.

?Very fair world this is. I could notice it has seen a lot of military conflict in the past though. Lots of deep weathered craters. The farmland seems to be doing well, though. How large is the base, here?? Mira asked. Parvil glanced at her for a second. She was the analyst, and in standard form, the obvious questions about the military posture and size came out, and Parvil hoped it would be taken as a curiosity, not an attempt at elicitation. Mothma and Leia trodden neatly down a flight of stairs, the Wolatarians caterpillar forms had a bit more trouble. It became more of an awkward bound for both of them, use to the ribbed ramps in their sector, designed for the eight small legs that were beneath their bodies. They recovered once they reached the bottom, somewhat and looked to their host for further guidance.[/blockquote]TAG: MOLP

OOC: Sector Medical staff and procedures are original to the Sector General series of books, by James White.

IC: Devon Robie, Knight Johmer Evanson, Grand Admiral Perrinaw, the Bantha-class assault transport, Fluffy; and Sector Medical.
Location: Somewhere in the Raioballo Sector

Within the vessel?s extravagant command area, two of the four seats were filled, the rodian Secret Galactic Intelligence Service agent, and his partner, the jedi knight, Johmer Evanson.

Both stared at their destination, Sector Medical.

If you can imagine a thick, multilayer sandwich, not quite Scooby Snack, but certain to draw hard stares from that healthy person that you know, with a pencil jabbed vertically through the centre, you have an approximation for that this place looked like.

?So, that is a Golan 2 Space Defense Platform, is it?? The rodian muttered, staring in awe at the space-going city. ?Impressive.?

He clearly hadn?t been at Endor, otherwise it would have taken more than this to phase him.

Johmer leaned back in his chair, and looked sideways at the sensor panel while he ran a casual scan of the place. ?Two thousand, one hundred and fifty-eight metres. Shield strength of Six thousand, four hundred SBD. Turbolasers, proton torpedoes??

Devon looked over at the jedi whose life he had saved, many years before. ?And what are you going to say if they ask why we are scanning them??

?I?ll ask if they have seen themselves.?

    The rodian nodded. Good point.

    Biddley-iddley-beep

?We?re on.? He leaned forward, and activated the comlink, while gazing out of the ceiling high gash of blue-tinted transparisteel that fronted his craft, while several klicks away, the ?hospital? shone like a jewel in the blackness of space, Raioballo Sector was fairly empty of stars, in comparison to most parts of the galaxy. ?This is the Fluffy, bringing your medical supplies. Just show me somewhere to dock.? He tried to put a bored tone into his voice, like a typical freelance pilot.

?Identify yourself please. Patient, visitor, or staff and species.?

The voice sounded flat, synthetic, but the old-fashioned type that had never sold in numbers. Modern synthesised voices at least had some warmth.

Devon exchanged a glance with Johmer, who shrugged.

?Uh, I?m rodian; my first-mate is human.?

Devon was uncomfortable. This sounded like an Imperial spaceport, wanting to know about who was human, and who was not. Still, their mission was to get on board, and check the place out. That Switek fellow, back on Nar Shaddaa, had not suspected that he was hiring a pair of undercover agents.

?Give physiological classifications, please, or make full-vision contact. All intelligent races refer to themselves as human and consider others to be nonhuman, so what you call yourself is irrelevant so far as preparing or directing you to suitable accommodation is concerned.?

?Physiological, what? We?re not planning on staying!?

At the other end of the conversation, Grand Admiral Warrick Perrinaw, the white military uniform that went with the title contrasting with his brown visage, glared irritably at the back of the Nidian's head.

The being responsible for greeting visiting ships and processing them, sitting in an egg-shaped white chair, looked like nothing so much like a red version of what he understood an Ewok to look like, a little scarlet teddy bear.

He almost wanted to blast it on general principles.

The establishment was a tie-in between himself, several wealthy investors, and a group of do-gooder types from one of the satellite galaxies, where they maintained a multi-species civilization that they called the Federation.

Their equivalent of a military, was called the Monitor Corps, and a detachment of their green-uniformed soldiers were stationed here, doing maintenance, engineering, and security.

There was barely an Imperial presence on the station itself, but, his star destroyer wou

The most senior officials in the Imperial military were gathering around the planet Carida, home of Imperial military training, both for the army and navy. Never before since the birth of the Empire have so many important figures in the New Order come together. Since the news of the Emperor?s death, many took their armies and navies, creating their own military governments around the systems they were in charge of at the time of the Emperor?s rein. Many still felt this was an unnecessary risk and others felt it was there time to assume command of the Empire.

Ardus Kaine was the first to arrive planet-side and was met with fanfare from the training cadres below. Rows ten deep stood at attention as Grand Moff Kaine and his travelling staff walked down the parade route to meet the commanding officer of the Imperial Academy. Behind him, Kaine had brought a platoon of stormtroopers, their white armor glistening in the sun. Their cadence was perfection, each step in lock with the other, blaster rifles against their chest at the same height. It looked like a perfect copy of the next one, a mirror image if that better described the moment.

General Kreiger stood motionless on the dais as Kaine approached. Warhammer behind the General looked on with admiration at the show of force of the mighty Empire. Kreiger watched Kaine approach. Indeed as the reports stated, Kaine was hungry for more power. He could see it on his face. He had the look of a true alpha, and would not hesitate to assert his authority over anyone who threatened his position within the pack.

Kaine passed the dais and saluted to General Kreiger. Although, the Grand Moff held more authority over the General, Kreiger was responsible for training the Empire?s military and showing disrespect would be biting the hand that feeds your army and navy. Kreiger saluted back per standard operating procedure.

Behind Kaine?s group was Grand Moff Zsinj and his entourage. The portly Moff had stuffed himself into stormtrooper armor and looked like he was having a hard time walking down the parade route. He waddled out in front of his troops, giving the impression that he leads his men into battle. However this was far from the case. The man loved to fight but would rather make sure the odds were stacked in his favor, hence the reason for taking the second position in the parade.

After a full hour in the sun, the final group had passed the dais. Kreiger turned and faced Warhammer. ?Finally, it?s over. What a bunch of pretentious blowhards. They think the galaxy revolves around them.? Warhammer chuckled, ?Yes sir.?

Kreiger stepped down and motioned Warhammer to follow. Keeping up with the joke, ?Well maybe it does around Zsinj.? They continued their walk back to his office. Grand Admiral Thrawn was given everything necessary for the meeting with the others and their surprise guest. ?What do you know about our guests Major??

?Well sir, not much other than what you read in the reports. I believe that Thrawn will be able to give us a more detailed report on each one.?

The doors to General Kreiger?s office slid open to reveal Grand Admiral Thrawn sitting in front of the General?s desk with a drink in his hand. Rhuk stood in the corner shadows but within striking distance. Kreiger was taken by surprise by his guest but attempted to hide it in front of Thrawn. ?Grand Admiral Thrawn. It?s a pleasure to have you in my office.?

?Thank you General. I hope you don?t mind, I helped myself to a dri

?Sir, one of our diplomatic envoys was intercepted by one or more of your fighters and this has us greatly concerned. We have in?we have heard rumors that your fleets maybe mobilizing and we want assurances that there is no hostile intentions being made against us. Further, if there is concern about any of our negotiations outside of the cluster, we would like to discuss them frankly with you. Are there concerns? If so, please.. We are all ears on this end; I can assure you. If you would rather discuss it in person, I can be at Erith in four hours.? Naloth raised an eyebrow in surprise. It had been many years since a Woltarian higher than a low ambassador had agreed to come to the Palace. That fighter must have really shaken them up. Combine that with the fleet buildup, this could turn bad really quickly.

The commander finally nodded in agreement. If they had the wrong idea, they needed to be convinced otherwise fast. No one wanted another war in the A?care cluster. Least of all him. ?That would be for the best, madam. We obviously have quite a bit to discuss. I?ll send a squadron of Demons to the Omicron Beta Passageway. They?ll guide you in from there, as you know our gas clouds are not exactly safe.? Naloth turned and motioned to a nearby Lieutenant, who moved to put the order through.

    "Oya...Let's chat." The other suggested.

"Yes," He agreed readily, gesturing to the metal table at which Narain sat. "But not in Mando', we are excluding the natives." He nodded to Lieutenant Dawnstrider.

"Oh, thank the Force." She muttered, moving to one of the draped sleep-slots at the back of the room, and starting to unzip her jumpsuit. "I'm going to catch an hour, can I trust you gentlebeings not to watch a lady getting dis-robed?"

Tearus waved without looking, and dropped into a chair. "I am completely taken by surprise! I don't know where to begin."

"You could start by exchanging names." Shaara suggested, bending to unbind the wrap of emergency flares from around her calf. "Unless Mandalorians don't do that."

?That would be for the best, madam. We obviously have quite a bit to discuss. I?ll send a squadron of Demons to the Omicron Beta Passageway. They?ll guide you in from there, as you know our gas clouds are not exactly safe.?

Sending ?Demons? to escort might have been better phrased, a few of the non-military advisors at the table were not familiar with the term of one of the Skadi?s heavy fighters, but quickly figured out what the Skadi commander meant.

?I?ll be there as well.? The President blurted suddenly. He wanted to shout across at the Bro?can Queen on the stupidity of this endeavor, a move without serious practical situation by her in his opinion. However now, they needed a strong, united front against any perceived aggression. ?Thank you for your time, we?ll be seeing you shortly.?

The president took control of the conversation and motioned for the comms specialist to disconnect from the Skadi commander. As soon as the feed was gone, the entire virtual table erupted into a calamity of competing voices.

?You can?t ust spur of the moment decided to make a state-to-state visit. These things take time to put through!? Said the minister of the State Administration Bureau. We have done no security presp and they want their military fighters to escort you. No, no, no, no. Mr. President, we cannot go through with this; please explain this to her Majesty.?

?We?re showing our rear ends here, Minister. We have no plan; and you know what. Maybe it?s time to do something brash. We don?t need a repeat of seven-eighty-two here.? The president said referring to the last open conflict with the Skadi Imperial, twenty-five years ago.

?Who is in charge here?? Said the General of the Aeronautical Force suddenly. The room quieted a bit.

?What?? The Queen said, as the rest of the meeting glanced from person to person.

?We?ve got a queen, two presidents, a prime minister and a host of competing officers and ministers. Now who is in charge?? He asked pointedly. The other president he refered to was the Freeworld House Governor, not present at the meeting. ?There?s at least four heads on this beast, and I want to know who I am answering too.?

?General, this is not the time. The sector is managed by the governing council as stated in the Articles of Federation.? Said the Prime Minister of the United Senatorial Body.

?No, this is the time. We?re in a real emergency situation and no one has the authority to take the reins!? He came back, more forcefully.

?I am taking charge here!? Said the Queen, with a few uneasy stares from the other ministers.

?No, you are not. You are just producing a potential hostage situation at the worst; and at the best you are making a mockery of our hous- the entire sector.? The General was becoming more inflamed. A chorus of shouting began, mostly at the general from more Bro?can aligned ministers and officers, but met back with some support from the Imperial side of the house. The only two Freeworlders, deputy ministers for the State Administration actually disconnect from the conference in disgust.

The president?s voice over took them all when he barked, ?General! You are relieved effective immediately. I want craft ready for our trip to Skadi space, including military escort ready to go in thirty minutes!? he said, turning to his aide without skipping a beat. The General looked flabbergasted and stammered for words.

?You can?t do that!? He finally stated, furious.

?I just did. Disconnect him and make sure he stands down.? The president said, and the general?s image vanished before he could say anything else. A couple other officers seemed ready to jump to the General?s defense, and then disconnected in anger. The president spoke again, ?I want a private chat with your Majesty and the Prim

IC: Charlie Crewes, Flight Captain Kevin Tidwell, ?Father?/ Major Stiles, Danni Reese
Locations: farm 80km north of Rosh, and Telos Base.

The rebels halted as soon as the hatches on their respective freighters eased open, and the pilots scrambled out, and down the ramps, the two SpecForcers dropping their aims accordingly to cope with the lower height of the aliens.

?Whoa, whoa.. Greetings officers. Everything alright?? One of the pilots asked, moving his arms up in submission.

"That's a lot of limbs." Crewes noted as he looked over the alien. "Reese, isn't that a lot of limbs?"

"Yeah, Crewes, it is a lot of limbs." She confirmed, more to acknowledge him, than because she cared.

?This isn?t a hijacking is it?? The voice expressing the surprise that Crewes was unable to read from the face, if it had a face, as the end closest to him was sealed in by grey metal.

?No, this is not a hijack. Anyone else inside?? Crewes straightened, curious, ?What are you??

    * * * *

Observing the exchange from on-high, looking down at the scene over his Snowspeeder?s nose, Captain Tidwell had been trying different frequencies on his comlink, twiddling the knob between gloved thumb and forefinger to re-aquire Telos Base, and his observations were instantly transmitted.

Kevin sat forward as much as his restraints allowed, at first thinking the transport fliers had tripped and fallen out of their ships, arriving on all fours, but then he spotted the extra legs.

    ?They?re, they?re caterpillars.?

    * * * *

Back at the rebel headquarters? base, the Alliance Intelligence officer was glad to lose the General. Due to the nature of his job, there was no way he could accede to the flag officer?s request to state his faction and rank over an open channel, so he was not going to, sod him.

    ?They?re, they?re caterpillars.?

?Say again, Zerek-Two?? Major Stiles returned, the transmitted communication putting him in mind of Princess Leia?s latest guests.
He flicked through internal holocam views on two of the screens to his right, getting angled top down views of the eight-legged beings re-composing themselves at the base of a short set of steps just off the landing pad.

?Base One from Zerek-Two. The freighter crews are caterpillars, like Ruurians, is it? And my scan of their transport just bumped their numbers up the moment the hatches opened. There are a lot more inside.?

Stang! ?Stand down, Zerek-Two, stand down. Stand down.?

If these were the same species as the visitors, a good chance that they were a support team, and he didn?t want this to go the way of the Echani, and lose the Alliance a potential ally.

By the same token though, given what a mess their coalition government and military were, under the surface, he had to consider that these Wolatarians were political opponents of the ambassadors, so he really should not even acknowledge to them that their General Parvil was on-planet, or allow them to proceed until the visitors had cleared the planet.

?That might not be too easy, Base-?

?Have your people fall back to their speeders, but keep the visitors contained. Keep them on the ground.?

    ?Copy, Base One.?

    * * * *

Crewes cocked his head. "Reese, d'you hear something?"

Reese, her Q2 not wavering from her own target, listened for a moment. "Yeah, sounds like your name. Comlink in your helmet; must be Tidwell. Go, I got this."

She switched her aim to her partner's caterpillar for a beat, then back to her own, alternating between the two while Charlie backtracked as quickly as he could, to where his helmet was still on their 'speeder, his boss's voice calling his name urgently from the communicator set inside the moulded skidlid.

"Uh, Reese?" A hint of worry crept into his voice at the update coming through, "Uh, you wanna come back here?"

?No, this is not a hijack. Anyone else inside? What are you?? The human male asked.

?A freelance pilot. My navigator and loaders are inside. Can we put the blasters away?? Said the co-pilot of Squall Four.

"Reese, d'you hear something?" The male human said to the female, still training his weapon at the Navigator from Squall Five.

"Yeah, sounds like your name. Comlink in your helmet; must be Tidwell. Go, I got this." The female responded. As the male human dropped his aim, she switched back and forth between the two Wolatarians as her wingman jogged back to the speeder.

?What?s going on?? Came the whispered voice of Sgt. Idia on his helmet commlink.

?We?re at gunpoint, and the other speeder is still hovering. I?m getting worried here.? He said quietly. ?Human male is walking back towards the speeder.?

?Alright, tell me when we?ve got an opening. Do we have guns on the floater?? She asked.

?Sort of. Looking at them optically. Not swiveled the gun yet.? The navigator of Squall Four said, watching the hovering T-47 in his viewscreen that linked to the twin defensive cannons on the transport.

?Check, when I say, splash the speeder. Just put her down, avoid catastrophic. We?ll try to take the two puggies alive. Hit the deck if shooting starts, Lieutenant.?

The co-pilot and Navigator were still standing, more nervously now as they female continued her snapping back and forth between them with her blaster. The human male spoke, concerned himself. "Uh, Reese-- uh, you wanna come back here?"

The tone implied to the co-pilot that they were about to get splattered by the cannon on the hovering airspeeder. The moment the female appeared distracted, the co-pilot whispered frantically, ?Now, now- Go, go, go!?

The two SOF teams moved with precission right along the edge of the transport wall and out the ramp. Sergeant Idia was the first one out, assault rifle lifted and shouting loudly.

?Drop your weapon! Drop your weapon!? She said, as the two teams poured out of the transports like a spreading pool of dark flesh. The co-pilot flinched and then the whole world vibrated around him.

The two defensive guns on Squall Four rotated to target the speeder as soon as the co-pilot outside had said go. Each gun was two barrels, that with a combination of electrically ignited explosive gel and electromagnets, accelerated a thirty-seven millimeter plasma-encased round of hardened-case durasteel at four kilometers a second. Each barrel fired six rounds in a second. The guns were designed to shred fighters, missiles and hypersonic torpedoes at ranges less that five kilometers in space, or two kilometers in an atmosphere with shield and armor penetrating rounds.

The forward cannon mounted above the cockpit fired first, a burst lasting less than a quarter of a standard second with a pause for another half a second before firing a half second burst. A total of ten hypersonic bolts. One second later the rear cannon fired a three-quarter of a second burst, another lethal eight rounds. The goal was the cripple and take down the speeder, without the direct intention of killing the pilots, though with hypersonic rounds striking the vessel, that was not guaranteed.

The first two burst created an overpressure wave that condensed the heavy atmosphere into a rapidly expanding bubble of visible moisture, and lifted dust on the ground in a swatch from the gun towards the airspeeder a meter of more into the air. Windows in the barns and the farmhouse shattered, and loosely placed items on shelves tumbled to the floor.

The concussion from the second guns burst lifted the rest of the dust in the vicinity of the two transports into the air, and

Reese turned her Q2 towards the speaker, Sergeant Idai and pulsed two of her six shot capacity towards the armed threat before the railguns opened fire, and gave her something else to think about.

The expanding bubble of condensed air tossed her backwards, her third blaster bolt ricocheting uselessly off Squall Four?s upper hull before she impacted the ground.

The two in the speeder were dead with the first salvo, the cockpit interior sprayed with vaporised redness, then torn asunder on one side, as the hypersonic round penetrated the speeder?s forward port. Other rounds punctured the unshielded craft, damaging the repulsors, but not enough to down the floating coffin.

The airspeeder drifted sideways, losing altitude very slowly, drifting slowly to port, trailing vapours and fuel.

Crewes had also reacted with the caterpillar?s shout, scooping his helmet up with one hand, and slipping it on, while getting off a trio of shots at the hostiles.

    ?Reese!?

The backwash from the rail gun sprawled him backwards over the speeder?s flanks, and, boots slipping on the armoured hull, he managed to fall into the speeder, leaving the canopy raised as he reached for the rear blaster controls.

Hot crimson fire blasted into the open hatchway for Squall Four for several shots, before he started fanning the cannon, firing over his partner.

Reese writhed on the ground, her eardrums gone the way of the luckless navigator.

    aka "Chirppy".

Her arrival to the second Imperial Death Star had been relatively uneventful. However, from then on it was a steady rotating shift that was not unlike a brisk walk up hill. Six hours on and twelve off to keep fresh and human. It made for a continuous change from the terrestrial work shift she'd been used to on Caridia. Operating in space with no particular time for day or night to bother with, there was no problem with adjusting. As soon as she was assigned her suite, Lanta was given her schedule and assigned area of work to help bring about repairs to the Ailing battle station. Mobility, firepower and shields were each being given their respective attention. Lanta and her team had been assigned to the group working on reviving the Super Laser to operational specifications. Damage to the complex unit had been through its power supply routes thanks to the untimely death of the Executor when it went down. The damage wouldn't take long to repair now that she and her team had been set to it.

    ***************************************************************************

Hyper Space was always an entertaining phenomenon to observe. Guiy watched from the relative comfort of his seat as the manifestation shifted and danced about. Foo-Foo approached from the food dispensary with a fresh cup of Mojo and a light meal.

"Guiy? You've not eaten since leaving," she said.

"Yeah. I know. I just wish that I'd been able to sneak in too. But that would have been pushing even my luck I'll wager. I'm worried about Lanta and the little guy," he said.

"I'm sure they'll perform exemplary, Guiy," counseled Foo-Foo.

"I'm sure they will. It's just the security on board that battle station that I'm concerned about as far as worries go, for Lanta's sake," he said.

    The Dust Bunny traveled on.

There were three kind of fire fight escalations, according to Wolatarian military training. Each one had different hazards and tactics.

The first was the ?growing storm. A clatter of gunfire in the distance, that draws a unit into a fight that gradually escalates. In these situations, you had to be alert, enter the fight on your terms and neutralize the threat.

The second was the single event. A sniper shot, a mortar round or a quick ambush that leaves as quickly as it arrived. Often there was nothing to do, except increase your alert level and move to protect yourself from further incidents. The source of the attack was often impossible to detect.

The third was the explosion. One moment calm, then just a few seconds escalates a situation into a full scale, prolonged fire fight. All you could do in these situations was hold on for the ride and respond to every new threat as quickly as possible.

Though Idai?s rifle was up, she did not expect the female to turn as quickly as she did and fire. The first shot burned into a equipment pouch on her right side, destroying the rangefinder inside, but didn?t hurt her. The second caught her almost square in the chest. She double over, just as the rail cannons went off. In those two seconds, with dust swirling up and the concussion from the rail cannons thundering in her already aching chest. She rapidly felt the composite plate on her cheat. It was damaged, but the bolt had not penetrated. She looked up, the echo of the rail cannons still reverberating in everyone?s head and the dust hanging in the air was just beginning to be moved by the warm, pre-precipitation breeze.

Three quick shots followed from one of those in the SOF team. The hypersonic projectile rifle discharging with quick cracks of exploding propellant and the shaped durasteel projectile breaking the sound barrier. The hovering speeder belched black smoke, and fuel ignited in air as it poured from ruptured lines. It maintained an odd hover, drifting slightly as parts rained to the ground.

It was calm for almost four seconds. A couple of Wolatarians rushed forwards towards the female who had fallen. The burst of fire from the speeder was sudden and unexpected. A spray for fire of fire went directly into the transport?s open hatch. The shots didn?t breach the armor, but destroyed wires and lines, setting a fire inside the ship and injuring two of the SOF troopers with a spray of high-velocity shrapnel. The next spray of shots hit the side of the transports, starting two electrical fires inside the armor of the transport/

?Cit?o flight, Cit?o flight! Shots fired, repeat shots fired. We are engaged with local security forces. Location, five-six-two-gimel-gimel-delet-four-two-zayin-six; I say again shots fired in vicinity of five-six-two-gimel-gimel-delet-four-two-zayin-six!? The pilot of Squall Four called frantically on an encrypted channel. The fire arc of the defensive cannons kept them from engaging the grounded speeder. The pilot could only watch as the speeder?s rear cannon fired upon them and the SOF forces outside. He fired the engines up, which had been brought down to a low idle, to prepare to take off. The pilot of Squall Five did the same.

Outside the SOF teams hit the ground, taking prone firing positions. A chorus of automatic fire began. The shots from the speeder struck the ground and one caught a Wolatarian SOF trooper, the shot taking him in half in a spray of gore just in front of Sergeant Idai. Another Wolatarian was thrown as a bolt that struck near him ruptured the ground into a spray of near molten gravel. The firefight had just begun when one of the SOF trooper recognized a quick endgame solution and fi

Selena said ?Ok?? She walked off in the direction of the droid holder. Outwardly she looked calm and collected but inwardly, she was in turmoil! For these past few months, she had been struggling with the things she went through. Her imprisonment and torture on Kessel after her last espionage mission, she wished that she could forget. She could not imagine the horror she had to endure on that planet, she couldn?t imagine that an Imperial officer who was once a friend of her father could do something like that to her.

She was so embedded into her own thoughts that she nearly missed the astromech room. Going inside she looked around and picked one that was named R5.

On her way towards the hanger, she couldn?t help but remember Liam. She had just gotten to the point of seeing him as a friend but now, he?s dead. Watching him die made her remember watching her friends die, her mother die, lastly her father die.

?How many more death will it take before all the wrongs are put right?? She thought ?Why didn?t just let the Separatist Alliance leave the Republic??

She arrived at the hanger bay where the ships were.

?Time to go to work? she muttered.

Normally, Salm could handle himself when it came to hunger. But this sort of meeting situation was the sort that he had never encountered before, as most briefings and debriefings he had attended were punctual. The two puffed creme spheres were not holding him over. Suddenly, one of the squadron commanders, who had seated herself next to Salm, darted up.

?Frag this for a game of soldiers,? she said, looking at him as she got up. Salm didn't show any startled surprise, but just squinted his eyes at her with his mouth slightly open. She pointed at the projection of Dodonna and Ackbar. "I told them you could not get a holonet connection in hyperspace." Salm remembered her as the woman dancing when Skywalker appointed her leader of the T-47 squad planet-side; though she looked in her late thirties, she acted like as if she were two decades younger. Almost the epitome of the hotshot pilot cliché, Salm thought to himself. Getting up slowly, he quietly presented a solution that would answer both his hunger and her restlessness.

"I've been in the service for quite some time and have never waited this long for a debriefing." He pushed in his chair and crossed his arms, looking up at the wired pilot. "Maybe," he said nodding towards the door, "we should get some real food; I can't handle much more of the sweets here. At least before Manchuso starts that holo-recording...? It's gotta be one..." Horton was also confused, furrowing his brow as he thought out loud to himself in the tail end of his proposal.

The tankdroid?s voice rumbled out of the darkness. ?Is this Meerian Vice lark just for organics, or can anything join in??

Switek raised an amused eyebrow. He would pay good credits to see the administrative artillery piece impersonating a fictional Ithorian detective.

The sound of rolling caterpillar tracks heralded STAN?s appearance, arriving within the flickering orange light from the still ablaze robohauler.

?Okay, Starshine; what?s this about slaves?!? it bellowed into the youth?s face.

?Uh, STAN?? The broker waved to his larger companion.

The pilot faltered, betraying the healthy respect that he had for the automaton. ?My plan is to get recompense for the damaged stock, and have Captain Soilding deliver the supplies to Sector Medical.? Stan paused for effect. ?What?s your plan??

?To find out where these slaves are being held, liberate them, and erase any being who gets in my way.?

?Oh.? Switek looked doubtful. Not that he did not care about such unfortunates. It was just that trying to claim the moral highground by force, on Nar Shadaa of all places, was tantamount to suicide by Hutt. Still, he had nothing on for the rest of the day. ?Fancy some company??

Thirty senior commanders were sitting around a black conference table. Imperial stormtroopers, Warhammer?s most elite troops stood guard around the room. Grand Admiral Thrawn was the only one standing up, Rhuk right behind his left shoulder. The Moffs and Grand Admirals were grumbling under their breath, while others stared the other down. Their patience was quite thin and they felt as though Thrawn was about to claim is place as Emperor of the New Order.

?What is this about Thrawn?? Nivers would not use Thrawn?s rank in his question. ?Are you here to tell us you are in charge? If so, I believe you will be challenged by all of us?? Rhuk hissed loudly behind Thrawn, but was silenced by his master. Warhammer gripped down on his blaster, tensed and ready to pounce on anyone of the high-ranking officials in the room if Thrawn gave the signal that was worked out earlier that day. His men, in unison, also squeezed harder on the frame of the weapon. Armor creaked underneath as muscle pushed out from within, tensing in anticipation of action.

Thrawn walked around the table, Rhuk closely behind him. ?Come now Moff Nivers, do you really think I would call you together and make my claim?? He stopped in behind the man, Rhuk?s breath, hot and steamy fell upon the Moff?s neck like a vice grip. ?Surely, I would be much more intelligent than that.? He paused, ?I would have snuck in your room at night while you were asleep and slit your throat.?

Nivers threw an ugly glance at Thrawn as the whole room erupted into anger. ?This is outrageous. You had better have an explanation for this meeting.? It was more of a threat from Trachta than a order.

Thrawn put his hands up to stop the commotion. ?If you gentlemen will turn your attention to the center of the table, our Emperor wishes to speak.

It felt good for Luke to be in the company of so many good friends, even though he could feel that none of them wanted to be here! Especially the man stood to Luke's right.

?Yes I got roped into this too old buddy? Luke said replying to Han. ?Not quite sure what's on offer here but I'm pretty sure you can help yourself? He then turned to Tycho ?I'm sure she will be debriefed properly when we get back to base?

The Jedi then looked upon the small buffet that had been laid out for them and for the first time since they had left Telo's Luke felt his belly begin to rumble, then he started to eye the Bantha wings as his mouth began to water.

?Well Han looks like nothings going to happen at the moment, so lets tuck in!? Luke said eagerly.

With that Luke pick up two plates and handed one to Han, with that he started picking at the food and placed it on his plate. Besides him Han mirrored his own hunger but it was also tempered with a growing restlessness and frustration, there could be only one reason why Han felt this way. He was desperate to get back to Leia, Luke himself was desperate to get back to his sister, since the battle of Endor his heart had been slowly breaking every day.

The years of war had taken its toll upon her and he was sure the discovery of her true parentage had been the final straw. Leia had locked herself away from everyone and shunned her duties and contact from everyone except from Han, it gave Luke some heart that Leia would at least see Han but with each passing day he wanted to rush into her quarters and wrap his arms around his Sister.

As Luke and Han began tucking into there food a gruff voice spoke from behind them.

?Now if General Solo and Commander Skywalker have finished stuffing there faces we will begin? Admiral Ackbar said not even bothering to hide the disdain in his voice.

Luke could feel his checks redden slightly despite everything that happened over the last few years, despite everything he had become, deep down he would always be a farm boy. Without saying a word Luke and Han took there seats and then the debriefing began. As the pair took there seats Sam and a few of her group began taking there seats also, how ever Luke didn't recognize any of the group how ever he did hear one of them praise Wedge for the destruction of the Star Destroyers.

?Thank you very much Dif, Green squadron scored a nice amount of kills out there as well? Wedge replied his voice hushed so not to attract Ackbars annoyance.

?We have been informed by Captain Manchuso that the operation was a success? Jan Dodonna said his voice carried none of the annoyance that the Mon Cal Admirals held. ?So allow me to be the first to congratulate you all on how you all performed, now myself and Admiral Ackbar would like a brief run down of how each mission went and what losses we suffered?

?Commander Skywalker, as you led the Rogues and were in charge of the main fighter attack would you begin? Jan said .

Luke rose from his chair slowly and took a deep breath, in his minds eye he could already see Ackbars look disbelief at what had happened.

?Well I can't really claim any part of the success of the space battle sirs, early in the battle my X-wing was damaged and I was forced to crash land on Balmorra? Luke then looked across at Wedge ?After my crash Commander Antilles resumed leadership of the Rogues?

Moving to the cargo droid and ignoring the small flames above her as she reached down underneath the carriage of the droid, feeling with her hands until she found the familiar feel of a cold cylinder, she eased her fingers a little more to the edge of it and felt a hose. Satisfied with what she had found, she gripped the device and pulled it out from underneath the cargo droid, looking at the yellow fire extinguisher before stepping back a few feet and letting a blast of cold carbon dioxide shoot out from the nozzle and onto the cargo droid. The fires died, the crackling of medical items ceased and all was quiet again, except for the rolling tankdroid she could only call STAN for the moment.

IC: Moff Tiaan Jerjerrod, General Roger Dascombe (NPC)
Location: Imperial Academy meeting room, Carida

With the Death Star under safe hands, well unless Lady Tyris decided to take it over, Jerjerrod, General Dascombe and several soldiers, including two specialized troopers who were trained in the art of assassination made their way down to Carida.

Dascombe had selected three other troopers to accompany them down as extra security for the Moff and Grand Admiral Thrawn if needs be, although judging by his bodyguard, the alien would be suitable enough to take on a whole army let alone a group of high ranking officers. The three normal troopers were dressed as a repair crew who would fix a fault nearby, the two specialised troopers were dressed as lowly lieutenants. All would be waiting for General Dascombe?s signal to come in and help if things turned nasty.

As Tiaan?s personal shuttle the Quantum left the Death Star he could see all manner of ships parked nearby. From starfighters to cruisers, from carriers to Star Destroyers they were all there. And it even included a Super class Star Destroyer in the mix too.

Magnificent thought the Moff and yet the galaxy?s most greatest advertisement for free parking.

Around 10 minutes later Quantum touched down at it?s designated landing zone with smooth precision. The Moff then turned to General Dascombe.

?What will be your plan once we get inside??

?The three who compose the repair crew will be nearby fixing a genuine fault; however they will be awaiting my signal to enter. The two specialised troopers will wait outside; they will also come in on my signal. They have all been told to look as inconspicuous as possible?

Jerjerrod nodded ?Good, I?m sure Major Warhammer will have things well in hand though, but at least you will be there to protect me?

Dascombe smiled making his bright blue eyes twinkle somewhat.

?Just remember not to tell them you?re in charge of the galaxy?s biggest laser and you should be fine?

As the Moff and the general made their way into the academy building with the two soldiers acting excellently dumb as two lieutenants, he engaged in small pleasantries with the other officer and their staff. He recognised most of who was there having met them in some tedious meeting or another. He greeted them all with mutual respect, although with the higher ranking officials such as the Grand Admirals and the other Moff?s it was tempting to say ?I know something you don?t know? and grin manically.

Thankfully he resisted, and as the officials took their seats so did he. Jejerrod was wearing his standard uniform but General Dascombe looked resplendent in his dress uniform, medals gleaming and all. Dascombe gave him a nod as he sat down. Good. That meant their soldiers were in position, the Moff spotted Major Warhammer and gave him a nod which had two meanings. First a nod of greeting, second that his security precautions were in place and ready. The General took his place behind Jerjerrod?s seat daring anyone to challenge him with a look from his ice cold eyes.

Tiaan looked over at Grand Admiral Thrawn who was the only high ranking officer standing up. He looked cool, calm and collected cold as ice like the colour of his skin. His bodyguard was silently exuding menace. Only a few people here knew the Emperor was alive and well, a Dark Lady was aboard the Death Star and that Sate Pestage, the Emperor?s Grand Vizier was languishing in the brig on the space station.

He was looking forward to this; he just had to not show his hand or emotions.

Tiaan himself was nervous, but outwardly he didn?t show it, he just looked calm and collected his green eyes flickering over each face, testing them. There were staring contests going on all over the table, others just grumbled.

Finally someone had had enough, it was Grand Moff Nivers

?What is this about Thrawn?? Nivers would not use Thrawn?s rank in his question. ?Are you here to tell us you are in charge? If so, I believe you will be challenged by all of us?? Rhuk hissed loudly behind

After Luke and Wedge sat back down, the High Command called upon Green and Grey Leaders.

If it was recording, given how Skywalker and Antilles had reacted, he did not feel like being the odd one out.

?Sirs, as Commander Antilles said, the attack went by the numbers. Green Squadron launched from the Flurry along with the other squadrons, and Rogue Leader assigned us to join in the attack on the Star Destroyer Shielder, which we managed to do with a coordinated effort.

The SD had managed to launch it?s fighters, and as my team engaged the TIEs, we suffered a quasi-friendly-fire incident, which caused my only casualty.
? Dif paused, controlling his temper, and the shakiness that threatened to enter his voice.

?A civilian vessel, that my telesponder identified as the Phoenix Force, arrived at Balmorra, and proceeded to engage the TIE fighters, but unwisely chose to detonate a seismic charge in the middle of our dogfight. Several TIEs were destroyed, but one of my guys also took structural damage, bleeding atmosphere through a cracked canopy. He...He expired before he could get back to the Flurry.

No matter the help that the Phoenix Force pilot provided, I hold him, her, or it-
    "

?Definitely a ?him?.? Samantha murmured from her re-taken place beside Salm.

Dif paused to glance her way, then continued. ?-responsible for the death of my pilot. After that, I deployed my team to protect General Solo?s exit route, for the duration of the mission. One of my fighters, moved to engage a third Star Destroyer that arrived later, and proceeded to bombard the Flurry.?

The squadron leader thought for a moment if there was anything he wanted to add, and decided there was not.

?That?s it, Admiral. General.? He nodded respectfully at both.

OOC: Sorry for the interuption but I think this is necisary for me to. I have two points i have to bring up.

One: the Phoenix Force is not a civilian ship, it is a M22-T Kryat Gunship, so it's a gunship. A war ship.

Secondly: The Rebles had no interaction with the Phoenix Force untill you asked him to drop a sismic charge on the Imperial base.

OK. I'm done now, sorry for the interuption.
