well, i've finally made all the way to where stargate: atlantis starts. i'm going to watch them concurrently (i.e. sg1 s08ep04 then atlantis s01ep04). i'm looking forward to see how the parallel storylines work out. i guess it helps that they are occurring in totally different universes.

I was totally gonna post something.. but now I think better of it.. I might get accused of being spoiler-riffic.. course.. if you don't have the decency to watch a show on it's airdate, you deserve all the spoilery spoiling you get.

    Or something.

but Yay! Stargate. or something. yeah.

    really. don't ask.

    ref, beau bridges

uh yes, I can easily see this. (also the Ori started out ok, then somthing went wrong there also)

and also some of the over worked lines!

In other gate news, as I plow my way threw the DVDs,
it's amazing at the number of episodes, I do not remember at all.

The direct-to-DVD Stargate SG-1 movie "The Ark of Truth" was just released. It wraps up the Ori storyline.

I just spent a ton of money on Amazon... Ark of Truth, SGA Season 3.. as well as BSG Razor and Season 3.

One of these days I suppose I'll be buying all of the SG-1 seasons.. eventually...

at least you can buy a season at a time

many years ago I started buying Star Trek episodes individually on VHS, I think my wife got rid of them

I strongly advise buying these a season at a time,

and also, saving your receipts, and watching them immediately,
or at least testing them all ASAP,

so that you can return them if they do not work.

As a laser disk buyer, for the 20 years they were on the market,
I really on got 2 or 3 out of over 3000, that needed replacemen,
and then only after years of use, before something happened.

My complete 10 season boxed set, currently has about 1 out of 5 disks failing somehow,

(The first failure, not occuring until just after the 30 day return period)

and I am now bying replacements by season, and they too are having some failure,
and are needed to be returned.

I fear that with the fall of HD-DVD and the rise of Blue Ray,
all DVDs MFG processes, may not be up to standard.

    As for Star Trek,

All original Laser Disks from 20 years ago,
are still working last time I watched the entire series
(TOS and TNG) in order about 2 years ago.

thats about (including the movies and cartoons) 150 disks at 2-hours each.

an unsure on the life expectancy of VHS tape?

    Update!

    Have just returned Season-8,

or, yes, I am starting the process of trying to buy,
in addition to the 10-season box set,
each season as needed to fix, or make available,
at least one copy of all episodes, so that if 1 disk fails
in the ultimate box set, I have a back-up

    __________except_______

The first disk on my first back up attempt has now failed,
and that set has been returned.

and now they have to order a season-8,

since I also need all the other seasons,
(yes, that is how bad the ultimate box set is)
I will try getting them elsewhere.

stay tuned for my saga of returing faulty DVDs,
and let us see how many I go through[face_laugh]

    Have just seen,

    Star Gate: Ark of Truth

what can I say, It's StarGate, fans will love it.

    In other news......Star Gate: Continuum

    is due out July 29.

    and

If I have done my research correctly,
none of these are related to sequels planned for the Original Moive,
which the guys who made that are saying was always
intended as a triolgy (what isn't these days)

    hhhhhmmmmm........stay tuned.

Nope, they're following the SG1 series, with Ark of Truth finishing off the plotline of Season 10.

However, there is now a third series in the works called Stargate Universe

We'll see... I'm just ready for Atlantis to come back in July.

i just watched stargate atlantis s03ep17 - "sunday" originally aired 6/1/07(i'm only 1 year behind now!)

i kept hoping until the very end that carson was going to show up and make you feel silly for getting caught up with the plot line much like what was done in an episode of star trek enterprise. but, alas, he didn't and now i'm sad.
