WOW nice find. Never saw that doc before

 

ILM is now working on converting their vfx work on del Toro's Pacific Rim into 3D.

 

This is the newest and one of the BEST ILM documentary out there today:



It even has J.J. Abrams saying how Star Wars out did anything Star Trek would ever or could ever do!

That's actually a bit old. From 2009, IIRC. Still, it's a great doc.

 

There is a great ILM doc on the Willow blu-ray that just came out.

 

Is it the same one from the earlier DVD about using morphing or is it new?

 

It's the same one from the DVD, but they have a new intro and outro from Dennis Muren.

 

I just have to echo what a extraordinary team ILM has put together over the years, an inspirational and creative industry leader.

My favourite films they've added their talent to are:

• Back To The Future trilogy
• The 'burbs
• Die Hard 2
• Forrest Gump
• The Goonies
• Indiana Jones
• Last Action Hero
• Mission Impossible
• Rush Hour
• Saving Private Ryan
• Star Trek

I could go on. Without ILM we simply would not have the groundbreaking films we know and love today.

 

POTC as well-Jones' face alone was groundbreaking.

 

Still the best CG humanoid character to date, IMHO.

 

Anybody watching the Disney+ docu-series Light and Magic?

 

Yes, it was very interesting and a lot more emotional than I expected.

 

Light and Magic was great but it also wasn't long enough. It really rushes over the last 30 years of ILM. Should have been around 8-10 episodes.
