    Hi!
In the first weekend of August there will be a scifi con called Finncon - Eurocon 2003 in Turku, Finland. One of the guests of honour will be Steve Sansweet from Lucasfilm.

Sansweet is the greatest Star Wars fan in the world, who has turned his passion into an occupation and is nowadays responsible for Lucasfilm's fan connections. He has written (or co-written) ten books, eight of which are about Star Wars. He also has the biggest private SW collection in the world.

There is quite a lot of programme also in English, and even some Swedish programme. The con has no entrance fee!!
You can find more info about the con from www.finncon.org

Best wishes, Kaisa Ykspetaja (in charge of the Eurocon programme)

    Wow, that looks great!!!!

Unfortunately I wont be able to go, we have the all-European FF meeting the weekend before in Paris, and I can't afford two trips. :(

    Good luck with everything! :) :) :)

Yeah, but I also have stay and eat over there, it also looks as if I'm getting a job during July and August, and I don't think that I can take time off with less than a week between them.

Aye, the Eurocon is a must for a freak like me. Star Wars, Tolkien, sci-fi, fantasy, anime, manga... All in one weekend! I think I'll huggle myself to death before I can get there. :D

    I was thinking...

Most of the visitors will arrive to Turku on Friday, right? Well, apparently there isn't that much programme on Friday (at least I couldn't find anything except for those who are making somekind of study about sf). So I was thinking if we should hold a meeting on Friday? There's good time to get socialised with the people you're going to be with for the weekend. :)

Well, at least I'm all free on Friday. So if any attractive girls want to meet a cute (yeah, right!), 18-years-old student boy, feel free to email me. :p

    Ok, boys can come also.

Finncon has annouched its program. There is loads of sw-releated things, plus many other attractions. Just go into Finncon site, select your language and try to find that program over there. [face_mischief]

FanForce has own small infotable along with SWTK, 501st Legion Nordic Garrison and Pilvikaupunki.net. On saturday 13:00-14:00 FanForce has meeting on Finncon.

Ohhh, it sounds like so much fun! Hopefully I can make it to the next Finncon, even if it isn't a Eurocon.

Only two weeks to go! Less! Woooooh! \o/

Seriously speaking, the Eurocon is the place to be for any European sf/fantasy -fans. Over one hundred hours of panels, discussions, interviews, presentations, contests, swap meets, auctions, cosplay, anime/manga, science fiction, fantasy, guests of honor, parties... This is something no one should miss.

And for Star Wars -fans... I think the highlight of the event is Steven J. Sansweet, who was kind enough to be a part of the Eurocon. He will do a few presentations and discuss in a few panel (and perhaps something else, I'm really not in charge of that. :p ).

So if anyone is thinking of coming; please do. I promise you, you will not regret it, no matter how much the traveling costs are. We even have visitors coming from the USA and Africa!

And of course, I'll be there. *grin*
