Calgary Sunday Viewing of the Sith

Discussion regarding a casual viewing of ROTS this weekend led some of us to suggest a Sunday viewing.


Edit: It's going to be the SUNRIDGE SPECTRUM 8PM SHOW unless everyone gangs up on me before tomorrow and comes up with a better idea!

I vote:

Chinook at 8pm
Sunridge at 8pm
or Country Hills at 8:30pm
But if anyone has a strong preference for time or place, just speak up - I bet most of us can be flexible. I am.

I'll know when I get back on sunday. I leave for my sons final cub camp at 6. I'll be back in town around 2-3 on sunday. I'm pretty flexable where we go. But silver city is only 4 blocks from my place.

I'd like to see the movie again and Sunday would be good. Could get to meet some of you too! My preference for theaters would be Chinook since I've never been to Sunridge and living in Evergreen, Country Hills is literally across the entire city for me... but that's just me being selfish.

 

I might be swayed if I'm finished work early enough (and not TOO tired!). I live relatively close to Chinook, but I'd go as far as Sunridge (Country Hills is a bit of a distance for me, also), if I can make it.
Are any of you going to wear your costumes?

 

No this is an non costume event. A little more relaxed atmosphere.

I'm new here, and I'd love to meet some Calgary Star Wars fans. Seeing ROTS again would be great as well. Could I join you guys?

Have you decided on a theater yet? And how would I know how to find you?

 

Sunridge is still playing ROTS in theatre 14 - has the wicked sound system. But that's just my opinion (mind you the Edmonton FanForce agrees with me

 

No, I don't think we've decided on a theatre yet. I roughly count about equal support for Silver City, Sunridge and Chinook , but a couple have spoken up saying Silver City is really too far away from them.

Since our last viewing was at Chinook, I'm going to suggest we have this one on the Northern side of the city and propose:

Sunridge Spectrum 8pm

As for how to recognise us:

We're all in costume - some in wigs (like me, I'm dressed as Padme here but I'm actually blonde) - so it may be a little hard to recognize us when we're dressed regularly.

I'll try to remember to wear a t-shirt with an X-wing on it.

 

That's cool with me, though I think I may be the younger guy there. Whatever. I'll wear my Star Wars cap and a blue U of C shirt.

 

So, what's the final decision? Chinook tonight? I went there last night and the early shows sold out pretty quick. We got there at 8 for the 9 show and couldn't get in. It was packed! We had to see it at 10. So if we're going to meet, we should decide soon and get there early.

 

Sunridge - 8 pm showing. Hope to see you there! I will be wearing my (looks like) vintage t-shirt with the red sleeves.

 

I looked online at the listings for Sunridge - there is no 8pm showing. There's a 7 pm show and another at 10:20. Are we just meeting at 8 for the 10:20 show??

I'm confused....

 

Scratch that - I just called the theatre. Their listings are different from the website. See you guys tonight for the 8pm show.

Thanks to everyone who attended last night. It was good to catch up with people and get in another viewing (although I have a fair ways to go to catch up to echosevin! Seventeen times!?!). Admittedly, when it comes to Star Wars, I'm a little obsessive/compulsive But really, when you think about it, it doesn't come around all that often and I need to get my 'fix' as many times as I can (especially since I don't have a 3 storey screen at home and SW is MEANT to be seen on the BIGSCREEN!).

I'm up for another viewing anytime. Going with some 'virgins' tomorrow night at Chinook. Any are welcome to join.
Prelude, I'd be willing to come up to Silvercity sometime (since that's close to you and I've never been there). This weekend - Saturday's out for me as I'm golfing, but Sunday's free....
