Ok, everyone has heard the news/rumors about a live action TV series for Star Wars coming out sometime in 2007. Probably set between EpIII and EpIV; and possibly involving Kevin Smith. Last I heard, Novemberish, was that writing of the scripts had started.

Anyone heard anything else on this? I'm tired of all the trekkies having a TV series while I had to wait eons between Lucas' movies. :(

hey! I'm a partial Trekkie. And yes, I'll freely admit that.

Anyways... I'm not sure if Star Wars was meant to be a t.v. series. Depending on how they do it though, it could be interesting...

I will stick up for her! I, being as old as I am, probably have as big of a ST collection as I have of SW...of course SW is nearer and dearer... :D

And yes, there is talk of a Star Wars tv series. Hopefully they do it right...

Dajuan, I thought one of the rules in Council was that you had to have a background check to see if you had a trekkie-free past. [face_laugh]

I was actually brought up with Star Trek - my mom is a dyed in the wool trekkie who would actually miss school events and her softball games as a child/teenager to watch the orignial series! I still remember when the first movie came out - my mom had to go by herself to see it before she would take us so that she wouldn't have any distractions!

Patrick's the one that brought me around to the "right" side!

The only Star "Trek" worth watching is Wrath of Kahn. Cause I LLOOVVEE Ear worms. And Ricardo. But thats only cause all star trek sucks with the execption of DS9. Only cause of Odo and Cisco.

thank you for sticking up for me, Christine! [:D] And really, what is so wrong with Star Trek? It's a very well-written show.

Well, in response to the non-hijacked posts (:p heh), I think SW can make it on TV. I really liked the Clone Wars micro-series which was animated. But, I think the same sort of focused storyline and sticking to the look and feel of the movies would go a long way toward live action with actors.

For the torch weilders, let it be known I have absolutely NO Trek background (even though I'm old enough). However, I did TRY to watch "Enterprise", but only because it had Scott Bakula and I really, really liked "Quantum Leap". :)

Oh, I loved Star Trek Next Generation when it was on and Deep Space Nine. Enterprise is okay. I get sucked in now and then. Gene Rodenberry has an extraordinary mind and has created some great stuff. I love the Andromeda series and loved Earth Final Conflict too. ( I am now digging a moat around my house and preparing the oil vats for the angry, torch bearing mob. LOL!)

I love alot of Sci Fi stuff though and some of it is not always considered good. LOL!

I agree that if they do the SW TV series along the line of Clone Wars it could be great. I think the audience would be huge and it could do well as long as they are willing to spend the money on production. They wouldn't even need big name stars, no names with talent could pull this off easily.

I agree! Somtimes big name stars just get in the way of a good story (*cough*iRobot*cough*). Also, and my age might be showing here, I don't want to get a psuedo teen drama, like "Smallville", either. I also hope Lucas has someone else besides the "Young Indiana Jones Chronicles" guys helping write this one, too! [face_praying]

I wish they wouldn't do it. I have a feeling they're going to ruin the whole "awesome Star Wars feel". It'll come out all cheap feeling. It can't possibly live up to the big screen success.

And...I like Star Trek too.[face_laugh]Although, the dog ate my Captain Picard Christmas ornament this year.
