Oh, I think you could make a pretty strong argument for Nevil. Not necessarily that he'd win, but a pretty strong argument.

Well. I might have time to argue tomorrow. But Luke wins it, I do believe.

    Thanks

    Anj Dahl

-Anj joined the GA Remnant in 130 ABY, and shortly thereafter joined Rogue Squadron. She stayed with the Rogues for the entirety of the eight (emphasis: 8) years that composed the Second Imperial Civil War. Of note, she participated in the Battles of Mon Calamari (Legacy 20,21 She was then promoted to Rogue Leader), Ralltiir (Legacy 36), the ambush of the GA fleet (Legacy 42), the Sith Assualt on the Hidden Jedi Temple (Legacy: War 3,4), and the (what must be the millionth) Battle of Coruscant (Legacy: War 5,6). Each of these were crazy battles against large, well-trained Sith forces, and the final two included facing off against Krayt's vastly superior Sith Soldiers flying Annihilator fighters (comparatively, the Rogues are flying T-65s vs TIE Defenders piloted by Jedi).

The thing is here, we don't know much about Crespin. Yeah, he's a General who flies A-wings. He flew at Ession and Selaggis. Beyond that not very much. Anj though, we do know a bit more about (even if it's not quite shown explicitly). She flew with Rogue Squadron for 8 years during one of the more intense wars (I'd easily put it above the Zsinj campaign), being Rogue Lead for the last, most crazy and intense part. She doesn't get downed, even during battles where other Rogues are. So the issue is 8 years as a Rogue vs Crespin's question marks.

I'd say Anj gets this one.

I'm still sticking with Crespin. Dahl isn't a bad pilot, I'll give you that much, but Crespin worked in similarly poor situations and has a background that leads to believe that he had a significant and respectable career prior to our first meeting him.

I'm just not sure I see how Crespin's uncertain background is better than an extensive career in Rogue Squadron during wartime. I'd think that Anj should be around the level of someone like Myn at least. It's whatever though.

My concern is mostly the quality of the experience for Dahl. She's involved in a depleted unit that has a questionable talent pool in comparison to the Rogues we know. The GA at the time is not effectively providing any solid offensive movement, it's almost entirely short skirmishes and tactical retreats, save for a few key battles. Crespin was a TIE pilot before an A-Wing Pilot, and while we don't have a solid grasp on his previous experiences, working with those particular perimeters and living to his age and status is an indicator of extreme talent as it is. I'll admit it was a close decision even initially for me, and your argument is solid, but my gut call still tells me that Crespin would win, even if by the slightest of margins.

There is no possible way to read that, other than innuendo.
