Hmm...as much as it pains me, I might actually have to side with Bracksy on this one...I still call it soccer ;)

Yeah soccer is football, football is soccer, really it's a complete **** to go on about the name of the game...

Bloody good to see it flourishing! I went to the match on thursday night, tucked away atop the great southern stand, and watched a fairly average game. I enjoyed the first half, I thought Bresciano was funking unreal. The boys will be playing much better come the world cup. Pumped!

We should all hit a decent pub for the opener in Kaiserslauten, and chant some non-racist, non-crude yet nationalistic propaganda and otherwise denigrate the japanese people.

    It'll be a great showing!!!

Kokoda and The Bride On The River Kwai should be mandatory viewing before this event occurs.

I'm pretty over AFL on tonight's form. Bloody Essendon.

Bring on the real football. I'm EXCITED(tm).

Essendon's the only team we've managed to beat this year, aside from Melbourne back in Round 1. Sigh. Adelaide thrashed us too.

Can't wait for FIFA to get into full swing!

Hang on a sec you guys have beaten more than just one team haven't you? Lol i just had to check the afl website, such was my disbelief, and yeah you've got a mere 8 points.. tough..

Socceroos had a solid 8-1 victory over the infamous VV Kloetinge overnight - Kewell played 85 minutes without any problems, as did Cahill. Things are looking promising people, I can't wait for tomorrow night's friendly against the Dutch.

Wishart: HA. "Essendon will make the eight this year, easy." Eat your words. Cahill. War.

I agree with the esteemed former RPF tyrant, I can't get into AFL this season with Essendon's poor showing. Shame on Sheedy. Bring on $5 meat pies and $4 chips at the A-league, I say.

Nobody has the right to complain about poor team performances. I barracked for Fitzroy for the first 12 years of my life.

Perhaps it was for longer, but I second this emotion.

Also, the Cats are going a little suxxors right now, I am all ready for the All Guus, All Glory approach to football.

Ah, I see. Same with me, except we both changed to Brisbane. But given their antics at the last grand final, I sort have begun to disown them and transfer my love and affection to Geelong, even though my girlfriend goes for? *shudder* ?Collingwood.

Ouch- just remind her that this is the team that had pretty boy Holland waltzing around on a dance floor on national TV...

And now, to enjoy tonight's friendly match against the Netherlands- but has anyone seen the match times for our World Cup round? 11pm, 2am and 5am...stupid timezones!

I'm half tempted to brave the cold and watch the match at Fed Square this weekend. Anyone else thinking along the same stupid lines? :p

Fed Square's definitely the place to be.. was anyone there for the qualifier against Uruguay? The moment Aloisi's goal went in... bloody hell, jumping up and down with 10,000 celebrating idiots suddenly became the best possible thing one could ever find one's self doing.

HOwever, that was in November, at 7pm.. Aus v Japan on a chilly Monday midnight with a 7am start the next day, hrm, I'm not so sure haha... Maybe the Crotia game, which is at the pleasant time of 4am on a friday morning. Great way to start the day I reckon.

I'll be with a contingent somewhere in the city for the Kaisersalutern match, I hear of a pub that's doing two-for-one beers for anyone wearing patriotic green and gold during the match. ;)
