Relax guys, Paul Rudish answered this question in his recent chat on starwars.com.

"And in case anyone asked: Kit Fisto's lightsaber has two crystals, working on a bifurcating cyclical ignition pulse. It's actually turning off and on really quick. That's why it works underwater. I finally came up with that answer."

bi... = 2 (ignore rest of word :p)
cyclical = in turn constantly on and off.

You're not meant to understand it ... like when Data would go on about quantum particle phase inducer flux to explain why the crew had turned into pineapples on Star Trek. You're just meant to nod and say 'Ohhhh'.

To bifurcate means to split in two, though, like a fork in the road. A bifurcating circuit would be one with two paths.

So who saw it tonight? It was all right I guess. Nice music. I really liked the Anakin/Padme farewell scene. Ok so Padme looked like a cardboard cut out, but I just used my imagination a bit.

Edit: Oh I get it, that's hyperspace. Nice posting a pic that has nothing to do with the text. ;) Kinda.. I'll shut up now. :p

well I have taped 3 and downloaded 3 and am enjoying them, kind of frustrating that they are so short would prefer a weekly 1/2 hour show! What do the rest of you guys and gals think of them?

There will be 20 episodes in all, 10 in the first (current) installment. The second lot of 10 in a couple of months time.

Well, there are rumors it will be on DVD by the end of the year, so that's a possibility. Otherwise, once its all been screened, we could probably organize some kind of dub and tape swap for those members who haven't seen it.

I don't have broadband either, but I've been braving the 2 hour hyperspace downloads. Very frustrating when it gets so far, then stuffs up for one reason or another, and starting over is required.

I'm hoping they'll do a marathon on Cartoon Network here, then its just a matter of one drive to a friend's place with Sky Digital.

otherwise, I'm fairly impressed with what I've seen so far.

I guess the thing with him is, even when they do decide to kill him off, it will be hard to convince the audience that he's actually dead.

Wonderful animation on him though. I'm just trying to figure out how he knows which one of his nerve clusters is his head. Maybe he just shoves it all into the armor, and hopes it comes out right.

The DVD thing is pure rumour. And considering the 2nd 10 episodes air in March, there's no way they'll be on DVD by the end of 2003.
