Tunick, I shouldn't be laughing as hard at that picture as I am. Awesome share.

Is anyone else alarmed that the Yankees are shedding payroll and the Indians just signed their second high-price tag free agent of the off-season?

Not really, the Yanks have been very clear they want to be under the luxury tax threshold. I like the Bourne deal for two but four years would worry me.

What Rox said. And the two high price free agents the Indians signed are both on the wrong side of 30. And the Yankees did win 95 games last year, while the Indians lost 94.

    Amazing.

This is a couple weeks old, but it's a pretty fascinating read. It seems like a pretty obvious point, the more batters you face, the more likely you are to lose. But this shows the numbers and shows that the 39th batter being the tipping point. And I think it really highlights the cost of a sacrifice bunt or an intentional walk.

    Amazing.

Out of all the photo's I've seen thus far from the Dodgers spring training activities (via the Dodger blogs I read/follow, obviously :p ), this one is my favorite:

Vin Scully and Tommy Lasorda are the same age. Hard to tell based on that picture.

Lasorda's eating habits can only be appreciated by Prince Fielder & Miguel Cabrera. :p

Taken a couple of weeks ago. I hope they're ready for the Angels/Dodgers exhibition. :p

DT421: I've read that if the renovations aren't ready in time for Opening Day (and possibly for more games during the Opening homestand), they'll have to play either at the Coliseum or Angel Stadium.

    Yikes!

ESPN is reporting that the Yankees are in trade talks with the Angels for Vernon Wells

That'd be an enormous waste of money. I'm positive we have minor leaguers capable of hitting .200 until Gardner or Curtis are back.

I'm sure the Angels are paying most, if not all of his remaining salary.

I'd imagine they'll pay a chunk of it. Just don't see what the appeal is in potentially giving up a minor leaguer to bring him in. Ben Francisco is playing nicely and should be in the rotation, and Melky Mesa, should also be considered, he's had a good spring.

Wells could lighten the workload for Hafner, but his bat has been awful since 2010.

Oh, I'm not saying it's a good idea. I find it fairly amusing how desperate they are.

    Amazing.
