Has anyone heard yet if any of the local outlets are doing anything for the release of the DVD? I know there's a number of things going on all over the country, but hadn't heard if there was anything here.

I've launched my site for bengals!

    SolarityBengals.com

A lot of the content is not yet up but the basic interface design is there as well as some random content on my queen and information about us and natural diet.

I used a combination of PHP, CSS, XHTML, and a mySQL database. Some were technologies I was familiar with and some weren't but it was a very new experience of putting it all together! Particularly since its been a loooong time since I hand wrote a web site.

    Aya,
Suncoast at Crabtree Mall will be having a Night of the Sith on Halloween night Oct 31 from 5-7PM. Kids will get candy in a safe environment inside the mall. 501st stormtroops were invited to be there.

    Natalie,
Terrific website! That pic of Meeka is just very queenly! I need to learn how to put a website together by hand too. Thanks for the update on the cattery.

I've just completed my first two weeks of education at Durham Tech for Clinical Trials. It's challenging and I'm learning so much!

As far as the DVD release of Episode III, I spoke to management at Suncoast-Cary to see what there plans are for the midnight release and they pretty much want costume characters at their store.

There really is not much for TTF to do for this event, but I did propose a few things that TTF could do. They are going to check if they can get approve from upper management and the mall.

Basically, the proposal was a can-food drive. One can gives you a chance to win a Episode III DVD at midnight. The more cans the better the chances of winning! All proceeds would go to a local area food shelter.

We will see if we get approval!

Thanks for letting me know, We'll be there. Do you know if they're also going to be doing anything later like the Cary store is doing for the release? I live only a couple of miles from Crabtree and would rather be there than Cary if I have a choice.

I know what you mean about classes being challenging, I'm already swamped up to a wookie's eye in bio and physics.

Chris and I moved. We are now in a townhouse!!! Yay!!! So much more room, especially for 3 cats. We even has a floored attic (not expecting that) with pull-down stairs. Now we're in the endless process of unpacking.

Now that I've a 97 and a 101 on my Clinical Trials exams, and a solid but high C average in my Anatomy & physiology class, I'm actively seeking entery level positions in the clinical / pharmaceutical industry. Making some headway with KellyScientific, but will pursue other avenues / recruiters.

How was everyone's Thanksgiving? Great I hope!

I've signed up at the YMCA - finally got off my tush to think about exercising.

Went to the Durham Tech job fair and from the contacts I've cultivated, I've applied to 4 jobs - one at GSK for a clinical support specialist, one at MedFocus for a project assistant, and two at PPDI for clinical support assistants.

All the best this holiday season to each of you - hope your stockings are stuffed with lots of cool Star Wars toys!

Hello, my name is Tim and i'm stationed at Fort Bragg, NC. Iuse to be in the Memphis Fan Force before I joined the Army and I wanted to see if there were any Fan Forces close by. I believe Raleigh would be the closest. Do you have any members from the Fayettville/Fort Bragg area? I have a pretty good costume and I'm a big EU fan. I love the books comics, and the rpg game. I 've also started to try and play the minature game. Any gamers here?

I think I can help here.

Heya welcome to the group. I'm Janers aka UD aka Jane.I know that I'm a member of the TTF and the former CR for the Havelock Spice Miners. Currently, I'm a student down at UNCP and right now we are trying to get a Fan Force down here going and in the end we are going to switch the Havelock board into the Pembroke Fan Force board. Currently, we are trying to get something organized as our first meeting which might be a night marathon of all Six Movies and the Clone War volumes. We haven't set a date yet, but it will most likely be after the holidays.

I'm also a costumer even though I can't sew. I have an Imperial Royal Guard as well as a Dark Jedi/Emperor costume that at the moment is incomplete because I don't have a saber. I'm hoping Santa Vader will bring me a MR force fx saber for Christmas. I'm also a gamer, I'm good at SW Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, Jedi Academy, Jedi Outcast and Jedi Knight. I do play the TCG from time to time and even though I'm still learning it I'm willing to play.

    Again welcome to the club.

    I hope this helps.

    -Janers

    Hey Tim,

What kind of costuming are you in? UniversalDestiny and myself are both Fan Force members here that are active in the 501st. I have an Imperial Officer uniform. I also have some stormtrooper armor, but I'm waiting for some guys to show me and help me start it. I also play the Star Wars Miniatures game. I'm a volunteer rep for Wizards of the Coast, and I'll run game demos and help schedule tournaments for the game. We have one tournament a month in Cary, NC, it's probably about a hour from you. There are some game stores down there. You can find them by using the store locator on the Wizards web site, http://www.wizards.com/. I don't know if they are running anything or not though. You could check the DCI events calendar to find out after they put the event in. I also have a Yahoo group for local players. If you want to sign up the link is http://groups.yahoo.com/groups/triswminis/. The next official demo I'm doing is December 11th at 2pm at All Fun and Games in Cary, http://www.allfunngames.com/. It's a rebel versus AT-AT battle.

    Thanks,

    William

Here's a quick catch up about me. Still going to DTCC for Clinical Trials, and I've been elected to the board of the NCRAF for the position of co-chair of programs. NCRAF is a professional organization in my new field. At Durham Tech I made an A in Clinical Trials Intro, a B in Anatomy &Physiology BIO168) I'm co-chair of programs. I have applied to be a cable guy for Time Warner. I've been officially retired from the 501st, but I have joined the Rebel Legion as Talon Kierkekaarde, a Jedi knight, using my photo from NBC17 as my avatar. I'm looking at getting a franchise and quit the Empire (Home Depot), but will be doing a small weekend business of pressure washing with a buddy from the Depot.

Big news over here! I've quit the Home Despot, temporarily quit DTCC school, and got a little parttime project manager job with a non-profit in Durham called NetCorps. They perform IT services like database updates, pc support, network and wireless integration, lan setups, web design and web development. I'll be working mostly on getting volunteers (students) in SC and GA to work on environmental non-profit agencies that have been brought on the Charles Stuart Mott Foundation grant and coordinating the LEAP program, a 60+ agency list of voters collaboration, consolidating databases of their volunteers and contributors. I feel like I've turned the corner, and getting back where I belong, in IT. Yay me!

Hi Everybody.... I've been disconected from the forums for a long time (a lot of things going at NCSU) but at least I had been playing SW miniatures regularly at the tournaments at All Fun & Games and with BodoJanx (I'm happy for him but certanly I'm going to miss him around).

Ok, right now I have to disconect for the night but will keep posting.

    See you all around.

I just wanted to share a bit of sad news with those of you who met Kevin Grant at IQM 2 or at one of the state FF functions. Kevin passed away last week after an ongoing battle with various ailments. KG was one of the 3 original members of the Emerald City Empire and probably one of the nicest guys you could meet. I know it has been a few years since all of our groups have gathered as one, but I wanted to pass this along to anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.

You can go here to read his obituary and there is a link to his online obituary guestbook hosted by the local paper if anyone is so inclined.
