Tilly points further along the corridor. "That way. Can't head back, can we? Not with that smoke."

When you start moving again, you can feel a rhythmic throbbing in the ferrocrete. At first is seems like power generators you're used to on any powered ship. Then you realize that it's the sound of voices in the distance.

To the left is a doorway filled with a bizarre assortment of chemicals, tanks, and equipment. It's hard to tell if you're looking at a vehicle maintenance bay or a medical facility. Or both. There's an aged, well-worn bacta tank in the corner with some brackish liquid in it. Nearby is a toolbench. Some old cloning cylindars... all mixed together with no discernable order. Large vid-displays are scattered throughout. Some show rooms that are familiar (including the fire), while others show different locations both inside and out.

Further down, another doorway to the right has a variety of vehicles in it, including the powered glider-wings you saw earlier (seems like months ago now), ground cycles, and a couple of escape pods from the Cetacean Princess. There are also larger ground vehicles, parts, lubricant drums, and other maintenance equipment.
Difficult to say which room is dirtier.

Madis hasn't really had any familiarity with biological tech hands on, but he knew a bacta tank when he saw one. Within the enxt room Madis immediately checked out the familiar looking escape pods. If there are other survivors who weer taken directly here, surely it was up to them to try and find them.

Outside the escape pods you see vacsuits on the ground. It looks like they were cut off.

The throbbing sounds from further down the corridor are picking up in intensity. Tilly seems to be trying to shrink into herself. "Tey aren't gonna make it."

A figure emerges from a darkened area of the first room, he's slightly hunched over with occular enhancement lenses and walks with a slight limp. "New visitorz. He will be most pleased with new visitorz. I hope they do not have scarzzz. He is most displeased by scarzzz. Will they pass the tournament? I hope so. We haven't had one passsss in so long... And he is getting most cranky about that. And the brutes... They do so love to watch." He walks past the monitors showing the flaming chemical room and the burning abonimations without even looking at them.
"Hello my pet." He lifts up a small clear case. "How are we doing today? Visitorzzz? Yes, they will be at the tournament. I just s's'said that. Oh, visitorz in this room. Oh... I wonder what we should do with them... One of our old treatmentzzz, or zomething new..." His neck twists at an odd angle looking toward Yuul and Tilly. "Which would you like? To choose, or whatever strikes my fancy? She'd make a wonderful sand-trapper, don't you think? Or maybe the gillz club? And you... Perhaps a larval to make up for the oh so many you killed? We have to keep their numbers up or the species will go extinct." He giggles like a small child.

ooc: I get he's looking at Yuul and Tilly, is there any way for Madis to get a visual angle on him apart from the one mr speech impediment has on those two?

In short, can I sneak to position and take aim?

Yes, Madis has a good angle. Seems odd that this person can see Tilly though, given that she's crouched near the floor behind a piece of equipment.
Grantois is over by the mechanic garage, but can be here in about 6 seconds (1 round)

He thought it was just the hissing of more chemicals being set loose down the corridor, further explosions and gas secretions of the kind they'd already witnessed... but that was speech, in fact that was basic, and he/it had just revealed his slightly disturbing intentions towards the native female and Yuul. Odd... what made those two special?

(ooc: I figure it's Force sensitivity, which indicates to me Tilly may survive past this mission :p)

Switching his blaster to stun and letting off a shot, Madis tried to put the fiend down before it could unleash any torment. After they'd restrained the creature and it'd woken up they'd be able to get the answers they needed.

    Actions:
Switch gun to stun setting and 1 shot.

    5+6+3+4 = 18

ooc: I don't remember switching fire-modes triggering multi-action penalties but if they do I rolled 14. (switching fire modes counts as a move action in d20 RCR)

(OOC: sorry for lack of posting)
    ---------------
Yuul was certainly not enjoying their current sittuation and was hoping to find a way through it. How this being was able to see Tilly though con fused him though, unless...
Keeping his gun drawn he moved a bit closer to Tilly, to better cover her depending on how this turned out, also whispering to her, "Whats a sand-trapper?" He took a moment to see if he could sense anything from this being that spoke to them.

Yuul's world spins a bit as his perceptions shift. There are three warm sources of force energy near him, a cold, creepy spot a little farther away, and an massive, overwhelming sence of darkness, decay, and corruption further away. There are other presences that barely register at all with the force.
"'s like a flat thing that wraps around anyone that steps on it. Then it eats them an' digs back into the sand. Only abom'nation that still mates with people. Sort of."

    >>Switching from stun to kill or vice versa is an action. But you didn't post damage.
Madis draws a bead on the creepy person in the medical bay and fires. Concentric blue rings of the stun blast slam into the being. He... pauses to wait while others play dice with the universe. ;)
Grantoiss drops to one knee, ready to fire if the person in the medical bay doesn't fall from the stun blast.

The creepy guy drops like a rock. His head bobs up for a second, then he slumps limp and unconcious to the ground.

    Madis Veid

"Come on, let's get this 'being' up and restrained... see if we can't find something to rouse him amongst the mess in the medical room. He wasn't making much sense and is probably insane, but I'd rather make some use of him than slay him."

    Action:
Give the being the once-over for any goods he's carrying. Has the clear case smashed? What's in it?

    >>Space Maveric appearently didn't read the rules about posting solicitations to other websites. They were removed by our supremely powerful Moderator. The spam message is for Maveric

The body is lying on the floor, twitching slightly--about what you'd expect from someone stunned. Grantois came running when he heard the blaster shot. He takes up a covering stance while Madis searches the body, ready to fire as soon as anything "undesireable" happens.
The glass case the body was holding is lying on the ground. There's some strange creature inside. It seems to pulse and move. When it contracts, it almost looks like there's an arachnid inside. When it expands, it seems to roll like some kind of sand-colored sludge.
Madis finds a variety of odds and ends in the person's pockets: ration bar (expired 5 years ago, but appearently this being lives on them, judging by the empty wrappers in other pockets), syringes and other medical gear (about the equivelent of a medpack, but specialized equipment as well), and some old fashioned keys.
While out of date, and in various states of abuse, neglect, and disrepair, this room is in effect a full medical bay (minus droids), equiped with surgical theater and some very advanced equipment Madis doesn't recognize. Waking the being will be no problem. There is even a table with medical restraint straps (well worn, but appear servicable).

Tilly wraps her arms arround Yuul. After a few seconds of silence, she looks over. "You shot the Chemist? Y' Shot the Chemist... You. Shot. The Chemist..." She looks up at Yuul. "'S he dead? We should make sure. He's smart. He could be fakin' Can't take no chances. You shot on o' th' most powerful people on the planet. Most nasty too. Gotta make sure. Gotta make sure. Can' have him comin aftr us. Gotta make sure."

Yuul glances down at Tilly in concern as they follow into the med bay. "So he's the Chemist? And although our friend shot him, I believe that was a stun blast, it'll only knock him out Tilly." Coming to a stop in the med bay Yuul gives a once over of everything in the room with his eyes, before continuing to speak to Tilly, "Tilly, if I may ask, what makes the Chemist so powerful? Is it his control over the 'Abominations' or something... else."

"He got it in the brainworks. Makes the Abom'nations. Makes the machines work. Does what Overlard wants him to do. Chemist makes it all happen. Also does stuff to prisoners. Prepares 'em for th' Gauntlet. Deals with them after." She shrugs. "Never seen him 'fore 'cause he usually gots guards around him. Jus' heard him. Guess he didn' want them in here. Maybe they get in the way? Don' let him talk to you though. He gots brain sickness, and if ya listen to him for long, you gets it too."

"If he's such a monster let's get him restrained now before anything happens." Madis says as he, with Grantois' help (ooc: if that's ok) gets the strange looking being onto the table and into his restraints. He then pockets the keys and medical supplies he could recognise, before picking up the jar with the strange creature inside.

"As for talking with him, by the way he was cradling this jar and the way he was talking to it, he may tell us what he wants if we threaten it's destruction. Whether it's due to insanity or whether it houses a sentience we're not aware of, I think he'll provide us with something useful. I don't suggest making eye-contact though."

Grantois slings his blaster long enough to strap the Chemist onto the table as ordered, then unslings it and continues to point it at the table. "We could always blind fold him. Or gag him. Of just blow his head off. He's going to be unconscious for at least another five minutes."

Tilly is still trying to keep Yuul between herself and the Chemist.

    >>Grantois is an NPC who can be bossed around at any time. He won't do anything counter to his own interests (like kill him self or whatnot)--He isn't a lacky or servant. But if you want him to shoot the guy on the left, concentrate fire, throw grenade, torture prisoner, whatever, just give him an order.

Grantois quickly and effeciently secures the Chemist, blind-folds and gaggs him. Then he frisks him again.
"Maybe we could just poor whatever that thing in the container is onto him. See what happens. Seems he likes to experiment on people."

Tilly nods, "He's sick in the head. Likes to hurt people until they're sick to." She curls into herself and shudders. "Guantlet is a big cage/trap thing. Lose and you're cooked for the brutes t' eat. Win an' the overloard eats your soul."
