Hey guys, with the new year looming upon us, that means we've got ourselves 12 months during which we can have meetings, outings and do other fun stuff. Just because I'm the CR doesn't mean that I'm the only one that can come up with the meeting ideas; I'd like to hear what you guys would like to do. So do you guys have anything that you'd like to see us do? Go right ahead and post it here and we'll see what comes forth!

This is a bit far but we should do something for July 4th, maybe even Rhythem and Booms.
spend the day at Warner or something like that.

Rhythm & Booms would be a lot of fun. I usually go to that each year, although I go over by Tenney Park due to the mass of crowding at Warner. hehee

I'd pretty much be up for most anything :)

Well, I was thinking that a BBQ would be good. We could have it at someopne's place or at a park. Of course parks are dependant on weather cooperating and homes need space for everyone.

We would definitely have to wait til spring or later though. Winter BBQs never have the same feel to them. :D

As for this winter... cash flow is tight right now due to the holidays, so there isn't much I can do that won't cost something and everyone would enjoy it. ( Don't read into that last part, Jon! I know your demented mind. )

I'm pretty sure most of us are in the same boat when it comes to cash flow though. Maybe someone can come up with a solution though.

What are everyone's thoughts of doing things with other FF groups? We had the UltraZone outing (which was very little laser tag and mostly sitting in a restaurant talking) with Milwaukee, and it turned out pretty well. I think that we could get a pretty big pull if we did that again and let those in Chicago know.

Yes, but the laser tag, although a fun thing to do, is difficult to plan for unless we reserve the place just for us, and not on a weekend (which is when most people from other FF's are available).

So, perhaps another type of event would be good. Maybe late-night bowling (to avoid leagues) some weekend. I liked the idea to go bowling. We just didn't consider the leagues taking up the entire city. Perhaps we could form our own FF Bowling League. Hmmm. :D

I know this may be short notice, but what is everyone doing for the Superbowl?

I have no plans, except to watch it. What about you people?

Dunno yet. I'm probably gonna sob since the Packers didn't make it.

I might actually go ahead and visit the parents that weekend, as fun as that can be.

Soon as possible, if someone has something they would like to do... or we could just meet and hang-out (not literally).

    Can I be doomed pilot #1? :D

Then again, with the weather as it is, we could probably reinact the Mos Eisley cantina scene :p

Just lemme know and I'll try to make it.

Hey...don't mess with the Wampa. He's an underated actor. The Wampa really played such a subtle role in that scene and since the near complete dis he got from Hollywood he hasn't been seen since. He's a sensitive acting type and with the limited roles he's offered (Yeti and well Yeti) he feels like he's been pidgeon-holed and blacklisted from movies. Now he does a rare voice over for Anime imports. I feel bad for him. Free the Wampas my friends, Free the Wampa!

    M

PS- Don't even start with "The Wampa isn't real, he was a guy in a hairsuit." Because they said the same about Santa and we all know how that turned out.

(I'm am /amazingly/ bored..I'll return you back to your usual programing. And yes, this deserves ... with emphasis)
