?Isn?t he cute?? Qui-Gon smiled affectionately at his newest pathetic life form.

Obi-Wan rolled his eyes in obvious disgust at the newest resident of their quarters. ?Must we bring home every creature that walks within a six-foot radius of us??

?He was all alone,? Qui-Gon protested, ?There weren?t any others around.?

?Thank the Force.? The low mumble brought a displeased frown to Qui-Gon?s face as he gazed at his padawan.

?Do you think he?s sad?? Qui-Gon inquired, the anger fading and being replaced by concern for the happiness level of his new companion.

?No,? Obi-Wan scoffed. ?He?s just some little ball of fuzz or something!?

?He is not a ball of fuzz! Are you? No you?re not,? he crooned at the object in his hands.

Obi-Wan glanced dubiously at the little ball of fur that his Master was lavishing attention upon. ?How long are we keeping this thing??

Qui-Gon?s head snapped up in surprise. ?What do you mean??

?I mean, how long till we toss him out??

?Toss him out?? Qui-Gon?s lower lip quivered, and there was a hint of vulnerability in his voice. ?I?m not tossing him out!?

?We can?t keep him forever, Master. You know that.?

?But? But he?s cute!?

Obi-Wan was considering asking who this man was, and what he had done with his Master, but he refrained. ?Let me guess: you?ve already named it.?

?Yep. His name is? Yoda.?

?Yoda?!? Obi-Wan shook his head for the fiftieth time.

?Yes. Very close resemblance, wouldn?t you say?? Qui-Gon?s eyes twinkled as he stroked his beard thoughtfully.

Obi-Wan decided to keep the conversation from continuing on it?s current track. ?Can we at least find out what it is??

?What do you mean??

?Well, I?d kinda like to know what?s occupying our quarters,? Obi-Wan informed his Master, rolling his blue-gray eyes.

?Well, I already know what it is.?

?What is it then?!?

?Well?? Qui-Gon petted the creature?s fur gently. ?It?s a tribble.?

A/N: This was just a silly one-shot that came to me during a conversation while on the phone with my Trekkie-father today; hope you liked it! :D

 

Oh dear. they are in such trouble now.

Their quarters are about to become a permanent Maternity ward!

 

Why did I know that? I believe I have my Force moments - oh, boy, Obi-Wan is going to be really upset in a few hours, eh?

Watch the food intake! (See, I'm not a trekkie, but I do love that episode.)

 

They have to watch the food in the entire temple or ask a certain Klingon for a cure, or even better the engineer of the enterprise. Loved it.

 

I am glad I came into read this one! Tribbles, the creatures you just love to hate. Trust Qui-Gon to find one.

I'm picturing Qui-Gon waking up in the morning with 12 baby tribbles in the bed with him. It might take him a litter or two or twelve to figure out he's got a problem. Very cute.
