I can't believe Chris "YoungJediNiagara" hasn't told you, but here is the info on YJN's next meeting:

members, it seems that the best time to hold our next, Young Jedi Niagara, meeting is this Sunday, August 12th. I apologize if you are unable to attend this date and I will send you a copy of the minutes ASAP.

Place: Montebello Park, Downtown, St. Catharines
Time: 2:00pm - Till ???? (Last time we went to KFC and played SW Trivial Pursuit)

1. Fairview Mall Charity Raffle I (what went right/wrong)
2. Sci-Fi Expo - August 25th
3. Paint Ball* - August 26th
4. Darien Lake* - September
5. Grape and wine Parade - September
6. Pen Center Charity Raffle II - October/November
(* = we are not sure if we have the interest)


Please bring a lawn chair to sit on. There is limited seating under the covered picnic area.

 

Yes, I apologize... I've been dealing with some "Dark Forces" this week and I've been alittle preoccupied. Thanks Graeme for the "back-up".

 

Oh boy, the meeting starts in....55 minutes, and I haven't even eaten breakfast or lunch!

I will bring my Darth Maul lightsaber...s (cracked in half) and try to bring yours, chris!

Topics of Discussion:

1)Mall Event Past and Future

·Gave Cindy, from Women's Place, the cheque and she was very happy with the
results and thanks everyone very much
·The money will go to the kids, for counseling, etc.
·At the next event, have a Women's Place Rep. there if possible
·Next charity event dates? 1st choice - Nov. 2-4
·2nd choice - Nov. 9-11
·3rd choice - Oct. 26-28
·Have something similar to their booth at The Pen, similar to their displays
at Royal Banks
·Need more visible displays for Women's Place on and around the tables
·Chris has asked for more help with other stuff in the club also
·Need more help with the lugging of the stuff in and out of the malls
·A lot was left for Chris and a select others to do
·Pen placement - preferably around Sam's
·Sony store to donate TV to use?


2)Sci-Fi Expo

·Aug 25th from 10-6
·We have been officially invited by TragicLad (Rob),from FanForce, to meet
at the Spaghetti Factory afterwards
·Going in costumes, bring them to change into once we arrive
·Must confirm with Chris by Aug. 18th if you are going, if you are going in
costume, and if you are able to drive (If I don't here from you by this date
I Can Not guarantee you a ride!!!)

3)Paintball

·They are having a Star Wars game on Aug. 26th from 10-4
·$30 for costume and goggles, $20 for 500 paintballs = Total $50+
·We discussed going to this, but have since decided to cancel going to it
because of the high price and are instead getting together on the 26th of
Aug. to discuss plans for the Grape and Wine Parade
·If you still wish to play in the paint ball game, on your own, be safe and have fun

4)Parade

·Find out if we can still get in
·Age limit?
·Next meeting on Aug 26th at Montebello Park we will discuss plans for the
truck and how to decorate it
·Please come with your ideas
·Eg: build truck into a landspeeder, etc.
·Need confirmation by Aug. 26th if you are wanting to be included in the
parade and decorating of the truck

5)Darien Lake

·We have a lot of interest to have a group outing to Darien Lake
·Price: $19 Canadian plus gas and parking
·We discussed a weekend date in September, but we will discuss it further on
the 26th of Aug. when we have our next meeting
